- Santiago del Teide to Masca hike is probably the best one on the island of Tenerife. It offers everything a hiker wish for-epic views all the way, stunning nature and of course the amazing village of Masca hidden in the beautiful Teno Mountains in the northwest of the island.
Hey thanks for your video, we did this hike last weekend and it was great. But I wanted to let people know that there is now a large construction site around the beginning of the hike, so you need to go around it in order to get onto the path. But the trail was really nice. Thanks for sharing.

@@PHope1111 hi there, I stayed in Los Gigantes and caught the bus from there, wasn't too far at all. I think the bus started in Adeje, as most do. From Los Gigantes there's another beautiful hike to El Bujero that doesn't require permits (you'll need one if you decide to do barranco de masca), I did make a video on my channel if you wanted to see what that was like (excuse the shameless plug). Hi Ross, thanks for making this beautiful video. I will be visiting soon. Could I please ask your advice for a good nearby town to stay in the night before visiting Santiago del Tiede? I have looked for accommodation in SdT itself but it seems limited and expensive.
Hi there, Los Gigantes looks a good option. The bus ride takes 22min. It depends how early you want to get to SdT. If you are doing Masca gorge hike you should be there at 8.15 to get the bus, but I don't know what time the first bus departures from Los Gigantes.
Just had a looked on the map for this hike is it the path north of the main road or the path to the south of the road?
It's north of the road to Masca.
Is there a clear path to follow without getting lost? How dangerous are the paths? I would love to walk this. What sort of wildlife will one encounter, if any...
If you walked to get there, how did you get back? Oh, I just watched the part where you took a bus.

Hi Amelia, The path is well marked and getting lost is unlikely. Once you get to the top of the ridge ,Macsa village is on your left and easy to see where you're going. There are steep sections but not dangerous. I didn't see a lot of wild life apart from the usual lizards and birds:-) The whole experience is wort the efforts:-) Enjoy:-)

And this is the problem wih "content creators"........... How can I take anything seriously on your commentry when you stated in was only accesible by car in 1991 ?? I visited Masca in a car in the early 80's
Hi Chris, when it comes to facts of the past we (creators) can only rely on internet. Did you get to the village from Santiago del Teide or from Buenavista del Norte direction?
