    We all know the new mini 7 is “good enough” just like the 6 was. We didn’t want good enough again. 😒
    People don’t buy the minis for a “budget” option. We buy them for the form factor. That doesn’t mean we don’t want pro motion and a brighter display like everyone else.
    Budget minded people buy the air not the mini.

    • @Fozzee.1970

      Not true I buy it for the size but mainly for media so I don't need a Pro version.

      I have a pro iPad for pro features and the mini is my secondary everyday carry. It’s just a sketchbook to always have with me. If I can save not having trivial features like 120hz, M chips, face id etc I’m happy.

    • @miletello1
      @miletello1 Місяць тому +2

      @@Fozzee.1970 I said that people buy the mini for the form factor first and foremost. As in the size is by far the most important factor. You just proved my point. Just because you don’t want pro features in this form factor doesn’t mean the rest of us don’t.
      Also I didn’t say ONLY make a “pro” version. I stated that just because we prefer the smaller size for obvious reasons doesn’t mean that we don’t want a “pro” version. There are a lot of people that only have a use for an 8 inch tablet but still want pro features. Don’t act like this concept is beyond comprehension.

    • @miletello1
      @miletello1 Місяць тому

      @@sloppynyuszi and that’s perfectly fine. But why not make a pro version for the rest of us that don’t want multiple devices. I have no use for a full size iPad much less 2 iPads. Just because you are satisfied with it doesn’t mean it’s logical to dismiss those that are not. There are a ton of people who want all of those features in one compact device.

    • @sloppynyuszi
      @sloppynyuszi Місяць тому +1

      @@miletello1 the sales in general are low for this product. Making a more expensive version of it is not going to sell well. And Apple doesn’t put everything pro into a cheaper product line. I’m surprised they still make them at all. Apparently helicopter pilots are the real heroes keeping this product alive. Mini products in general don’t do well in the Apple world. The iPhone mini is gone. And the iPad mini is just a minimal update. I expect that design will be around for a decade like the Mac mini that has been unchanged for over a decade.
      My point with my case is that most people that are in the market want something specific in the size not the specs, and also don’t want to spend a ton of money. I think they would lose a lot of sales like mine if it was more expensive no matter if it had pro motion and OLED or not. And not enough people like you to make up for it. The product line isn’t as popular as the 11 inch model to justify two tiers. A regular and pro version.

    I’m buying the 512GB + Cellular. I’ve had the mini 6 for a year, great for bed and business. Typing in portrait is amazing. Tried the 13 inch M4, too big to be a good tablet, I returned it for a 15 inch MacBook Air M3. When I go to travel in a few months I’ll either get the 11 inch M4 or some sort of AR glasses.

    Nice video, still watching, but wanted to mention. Jelly scrolling was a problem in the portrait mode only on the mini 6. Jelly scrolling was never an issue in the landscape mode as you showed. Also, it does make some sense that you’re demonstrating the Jelly Scroll fix in Landscape mode because the “fix” implemented in the iPad Mini 7 was literally to rotate the screen sideways, where the jelly-scroll would be less noticeable (but possibly still noticeable.)

      @Dailytekk I’m sure the irony of this isn’t lost on you as well. You title your video “Everyone is wrong” but you’re telling us to “Google” to read other people’s report to correct a mistake you made in the video. It’s fine to make mistakes sometimes and I enjoy your perspectives on things, that’s why I’m subbed to this channel. we all know mini has the perfect size for most of people. video consumption, drawing, noting, basic tasking, compact and easy to carry, just perfect. yet, apple does not give it a pro status. give it a 120hz oled screen, this thing will sell like a hot cake.

    • @TheMayala77
      @TheMayala77 Місяць тому +2

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England Місяць тому +4

      Apple understands the market dynamics, and I suspect they realize that branding a product as "pro" could result in lower sales due to the increased price. The Tandem OLED will likely cost around $100, and with an additional $100 for the M4 chip-since the Tandem OLED only operates with the M4-we're looking at a total of $700. This price increase could significantly reduce demand, as most buyers, particularly companies, prioritize cost over features like 120Hz refresh rates or OLED displays, especially when it means paying 40% more.

    • @lululemon0424
      @lululemon0424 Місяць тому +1

      @@andyH_England I get what you’re saying. By 2024, 120Hz shouldn’t be some premium “Pro” feature anymore. A 120Hz display isn’t that expensive-it’s not like they need to use some fancy tandem OLED. Even a good IPS LCD would be more than fine, and it definitely doesn’t cost anywhere near $100 to make. Plus, the A18 chip is more than capable for most users. Putting something as powerful as the M4 in a Mini, that’s just overkill.
      Apple has all the tools to make a great product, but they deliberately choose the path of maximizing profits with minimal effort. We all know it’s not that they can’t do better; they’re just prioritizing margins.
      i understand iPad Mini is a fine product that lots of people would love for, including myself. i just do not like the fact Apple is getting lazier and greedier by each year.

    I preordered the second I found out apple released the mini 7 and it arrives tomorrow! I’m beyond excited! I got my mini 6 maybe 6 months after it came out.. it was an “I want it but do i need it purchase” I finally gave in to. I bought the base 64 gbs not knowing how much Id even use it. In the first few weeks it became my go to device and I reached for it more than my phone or my ipad pro. I quickly realized 64 gbs was not enough but the rumors of a new model stopped me from upgrading… and as years went on I kept waiting for that new ipad mini announcement while dealing with maxed out storage on a device I use constantly. So the updates made on the mini 7, while i’m happy reviews are good, don’t even really matter to me because I would have gotten the 7 either way! Oh and the bezel size never bothered me… I honestly didn’t even notice how big they were until you mentioned the size of them on the 7!

    Thick bezels doesn't hurts don't they? Iphones now have too much bezel-less imo. Some temper glasses do not fit accurately because of the bezel-less screen, and also for people with bigger fingers/thumb, it actually gave some difficulties to scroll up/down the sides. Decent thickness bezel gives proper border and dimension of the tempered glass too. I just do not understand the chase for 99.9% no bezels on phones. At least it is equally sized on every side don't you agree? 😅

    I have a maxed-out Mini6 that I love, EXCEPT for the low brightness. For these aging eyes 500Nits is rarely enough, and the mini is so portable that I seem to want to use it in brighter scenarios than my other devices. Yes Chris, you’re articulate as usual: I indeed *wanted* a different (brighter) screen. And for me, the limitation of the old screen makes the device often unusable for me. I understand that I’m the rare person who’d pay 50% more for a ‘Mini Pro’, and that there’s likely not enough of a market to warrant such a device for Apple’s biz model (and margins). If I had to make a guess, I’ll have to wait until Apple someday makes a foldable phone to get my Mini Pro. First world problems, for sure…! 😂

      Like so many people like you, you’re complaining about nothing. Even if Apple included those features, you wouldn’t buy it because you’re not the market for it. The Mini is a niche product and it’s not their big seller as their regular iPads, even though Apple will sell hundreds of thousands of them. People who own the Mini or want to buy one don’t care about Promotion or super bright screens. That’s a fact. Only you and the other 37 people do.
      So you, and all other haters need to stop complaining about nothing. You’re all part of that “Android mindset” that feels you need all the “magic tricks” to think it’ll make the Mini a better tablet. It won’t.
      Seriously, the only thing you would use a 120Hz screen is to scroll up and down the screen for hours of entertainment. Then you’ll look for something else to complain about. THAT’S pathetic! 🙄

I’m so excited since this is actually my very first iPad with cool Ai capabilities to boot initially I wanted the 11” iPad Air M2 at first but it’s just too expensive with all the bells and whistles I wanted, not to mention how much more expensive the new iPad Pro M4 is. I figured I would save some money and upgrade to a new apple watch 10 and an iPad mini7 w/256gb instead of just purchasing 1 device like a 2024 iPad Pro or Air. @@Dailytekk That is a bit of a bummer. Even on the pro devices, as long as the keyboards and mouse are detected it will use the entire extended display regardless whether stage manager is active or not. That was something I noticed.

      Now this is a minor nitpick given the size of the mini, it is suited best as a tablet only.

    I don’t even agree with his opinions on this device but to any one complaining about the jellyscroll issue in landscape mode - look at yourselves in the mirror and take stock of your life. He literally said it was fixed with some B-roll footage of him using the Mini. And if you know about jellyscrolling, you already know it’s been fixed cause you’ve watched a dozen videos on this thing already. If you didn’t know about it - the information provided is still accurate. Asking to reupload with portrait mode footage - that’s some next level nonsense…
    This Mini, like all Minis to date, is just not for me. Patiently waiting for an iPad Pro Mini and fully expecting them to charge way more than it’s worth - the same way the Mini is priced at. All I’m waiting for is the basic feature set that is present on so many Apple devices. ProMotion, FaceID, and OLED/MiniLED display. Maybe in 2027… 🙃
