I've been suffering from this for the last two weeks now, creating all kinds of characters on Era servers to try and figure out what I wanna play in SoD. I guess I am the Reroller. Never tried Cat before, so might give it a shot now that its fotm. Love the video. You are actually putting some creativity in these guides and arent just going "well at level 10 leave your starting area lolullul", like most content creators.

I love to play as a Tank so i will try Pala, Druid and probably Warlock when i see the gameplay. Cant wait for SoD, it looks so much fun how they changed the classes a bit and added a lot of stuff. I hope they tell us the server release time for EU soon, it should be around midnight on Thursday but Im not sure, we will have ti realistically on Friday morning.
Paladin, especially in the 25 bracket, is a really great investment simply because of how much freedom you have in how you want to play the game. Obviously talents make an impact on your performance but at earlier levels 1-50 you can get an item set for tank/dps/healer and perform all of those rolls perfectly fine with simply the raw stats depending on how you feel at the moment.
I just asked myself what I like in my heart. And I'm not joking. You don't need to do anything more than that. What class sticks out to you the most? When someone says "what do you want to play?" what's the first thing that comes to your mind? I love bows, ranged combat and the ability to show off some clever tricks. So hunter. Specifically MMS hunter cos I love ranger classes in games in general.
So which ones are bruisers then, rogue/war/pala?

Im defintely a hybrid but enjoy tanking alot. The problem is people are so picky about letting people tank raids lol. I started with warlock, didnt realize meta was locked for a bit..couldnt find tanks, so rolled a druid to 25. Then tried a warrior (my preferr tank) rolled a shaman to 25, now on a priest for shadow lmao. Enjoying it alot though always liked shadow priests..just dont like being locked into healing. I swear picking a class is like a form of autism for me
I Will level up every class to at least 25 (and eventually 35 to make mooncloth). But my main will probably be mage, rogue or priest. Leaning on mage atm.

In all seriousness… this is exactly what most people were talking about when asking for classic plus. What did you want if not adding more abilities to round out classes and adding new classic style content?
Class identity still exists… but people now have freedom to play other rolls in more interfacing ways. Mage healer is sick! What is the issue with that?

I've been having issues with this since Blizzcon so you're not alone. Season of Disaster. Season of Retail. Take your pick
SoD is *NOT* Classic+. It's a beta for it at best. Destroying class identity using *Retail* abilities in *Classic* and people just go "zomg hype" jeez. Might as well add Retail's cash shop, pet battles, heck why not add flying too, name it Retail 2.0 and be done with it...Even streamers like Staysafe, Esfand, Asmongold and others have also said that the changes may look cool as an experiment on paper, but it's too much.
SoD is basically an experimental precursor for a classic+. Blizz dunno what classic+ should be so they're gonna experiment and let feedback guide the way for future real classic+ content. They are borderline creatively bankrupt at this point so they throw anything in there and check was sticks and "Discover" it. Blizzard messes up retail so more people goes to classic. These changes are just retail imports and make classes extremely broken. All those bfa runes will replace some classic talent points. My fear is that this changes vanilla too much into retail, ability wise. I would much rather like to see an attempt to rebalance the wild class disparities in vanilla, rather than give them the retail treatment.
The entire point of Classic+ was to expand on Vanilla content, not just reuse it and/or try turn it into some new Retail version.
We need to go out on the forums as well. To increase the change someone from them might take notice.
Lastly: Don't get too afraid of all the Retailers out there replying the usual "don't play it then lol" bs. Classic+ was not meant to be the new Retail.
Sure we did get some things we asked for a long time, proper pala and shaman tanking but afaik we did not ask for mage healers, rogue/lock tanks.

Classic+ development literally is hinging on the server population numbers following the initial mass drop off of players after the first 2-3 weeks, it’ll be interesting to see how things pan out.
If this is an incremental approach to whatever is next, so be it. I'll give it a shot. If it's good, I'll stick around. If not, I'll see what they come up with next. In any case, I think it's folly to declare you or anyone else defines what actually is or isn't Classic+, then be disappointed when Blizzard's next attempt at a Classic-adjacent iteration fails to meet your expectations. A lot of folks are genuinely excited about the direction SoD is headed, and it's reinvigorated their passion for the game. I feel no need to rain on their parade. As long as the devs remain responsive, this has a very good chance of being extremely successful.
