- today i looked at reload animation compilations. I love watching reloads from video games like call of duty and battlefield because reload animations are satisfying to watch for me. i love watching reloads in games where be honest which of yall are even reading this far. real fan behavior

9:11 that is actually how it works in the games. You never "have" to "reload", since you have a tank on your back that sucks a bunch of ink out of your body(that entirely cosists of said ink, so it's more similar to humans shooting human flesh everywhere) which is where you get the ink that you shoot from. It automatically refills, but you can make it faster by swimming in the ink.
Yeah it's basically minecraft infinite 2x2 water but anywhere, you generate ink from ink
So it's a milking machine, I get it now

Watching a reload animation at 0.25 playback speed makes it looks completely different with all the little movements when the mag goes in or out or a slide release which make everything looks so nice.

The combination of smooth movements and crisp sounds is just so enjoyable. And, as an ace person, reload animations will always be better than sex imo. Playing VR and being able to pull off your own clean reloads is also fabulous. c:

Personally, i think most of TF2's reload animations still hold up really well. Even the snappy ones like spy's revolver still have weight to it because Spy's still gotta heave the gun's weight around to snap the cylinder back into place; just cause he's practiced doesnt mean it suddenly becomes floaty.
Even non-magazine reloads have sound effects and animations that have a nice heft to 'em.
Though also special shout out to unfortunate spacemen's "revolver", it may not reload properly, but damn does it *feel* like a lazer gun cooling off when the barrels all spread out like spider legs.
If i had the time (or the money to pay someone else), id make a reload animation for a breakaway revolver where you literally break off the top, chuck it, and slap down a new barrel on top, before sliding your hand back to cock the hammer.
And of course the thrown barrel would explode on impact, what do i look like, an OSHA inspector?

So I don't think people without an animation background can't talk about it but learning some principles might help you articulate what you enjoy about a particular animation.
I remember that one time I saw some 2d animation of a gun reload from some anime that was really good. I Sat and watched a 2-second clip for like 15 minutes. The motions are just kinda hypnotic.
This makes me happy, it's like when my friend infodumps to me about their space game or star wars. I don't really get the appeal but seeing their happiness over it makes me feel happy and this whole video gives me the same vibes

The finals has a great shotgun animation. The model 1887 Each shot has you spinning the gun like the terminator and then to reload you eject the shell catch it midair and stuff it back in the shotgun before sticking in more shells. It makes no sense but I fucking love it
