It sucks you think it's sad, but I think hidden joinery is pretty cool. It's a whole other realm of craftsmanship. Your skill is so high, that it's not even necessary to show it; it's just a given that you'd never do any less.
thank you to these very skilled and dedicated craftspeople who were generous enough to share their wonderful skills with those aspiring videos you have shown me more than I could have hoped to have ever learned about your incredible skills and techniques humbly I sit back and learn
its not so much the level of detail in the work, but the way they do it compared with western woodworkers. their use of such basic tools, no electrical tools and so on. their joinery is nothing short of amazing.
just was wondering where is part 2/2? seeing how much skill and dexterity there has to be in these items to produce these joints is amazing to watch.i very much want to see more. pretty pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee
13:24 the narrator says cherry is used for the wedged tenons to add beauty, but its ironic, because it won't be visible once its installed. Thats not ironic, its just sad.
naaaah! just place your chisels flat on the and give them a hit with your british forehead. they will then sharpen all by them self. you can then happyly chew on some british tea cookies or have a solid british meal.

I love that blind dovetail, I use it whenever I can. It's an excellent joint for furniture.
the japanese attention to details is top notch, no short cut is done in japanese philosophy.
The guy using the bark from a Cherry tree to secure that edge at 2:00 is just amazing.

That's insane!
the gods that walk the face of the earth!
I think I need to sharpen my chisels more often.
W/ that much hand work, those items will cost a fortune. Their products are not for average people but rich ones.
Há que se tirar o chapéu para o povo japonês!!!
