Mastery sounds like a great way to improve techs and culture if you haven't had a necessary tech boost or eureka completed yet for the next tech or culture moment
@zondor8123 we all have our own views on it, districts made 6 better imo, and the dlcs fixed a lot of things, but both have major flaws, 4 was better imo.
I think I'm the only one that prefers this unflashy, simple UI design. Got rid of some transparent windows, less decoration, less chunkiness. It looks clean to me. I prefer the gray over the blue as well.
I love the way the map graphics look especially the ocean but UGH that UI, the icons are some weird pastel color theme that blend with every surface they could be on, and why would you use huge grey boxes if youre gonna fill it with a tiny Times New Roman text
UI is usually the last part of development, after everything else has been worked on since the final gameplay will dictate how the UI needs to function. It’s minimally viable to facilitate development gameplay
Certainly not just you. It’s one of the most *common* complaints I hear - and in my humble opinion, not wrong. Though I do like a minimal design, I feel some parts need some real loving.
The only UI I’ve seen on a 4x game that has revolutionised is Old World the information pop ups is if you hover over something and get a pop up you can hold down a button and hover inside its box to bring up another pop up about what you hovered over and hold a button again to bring up another pop up hovering over something else and so on. It’s quite cool
Thank you for making these videos. Good stuff. Video idea I had for you: I (along with much of your audience) am a big civ 5 player but have found it difficult to get myself into civ 6. This is due to many reasons like UI, graphics, etc. You should make a video for your audience that are civ 5 players on what we would/should love about civ 6. Looking at the 2 games side by side, what civ 6 improved upon and brought back from civ 5. And where you prefer civ 5 and what you miss abt that game.
I literally cannot use dark mode on any screen for more than 1 minute. My eyes and head begin killing me. I sure do hope they at least give a light version since EVERY SINGLE THING seems to be in black.
They probably will. It’s the most consistent backlash they’ve gotten and it’s obvious they haven’t poured much time into it. Probably working on all of the big issues before they fix something like UI
I'm looking forward to having new civic/tech choices for each playthrough. Adding a mastery level is genius. In Civ 6 it didn't matter much which civ/leader you had, just your win condition (religious, do this, cultural, do this). It looks like in 7 mastery, unique trees, and capped era progression are going to shake that up completely. Add the change of civs and civ-specific-but-random great people and the possibilities increase exponentially. It must have been a real challenge to balance! I don't think I've ever been more excited about a release or more confident in the dev team (with the notable exception of what looks to be another half-assed UI (hint: UI scaling is a terrible way to fix poorly designer UI, so fix your mouse-over text boxes)).
@@Gigi-zr6hp 4 was the one for me as well.... I even enjoyed 3, for it's era, more than 5. I'd still play 5 over 4 and 3, but back in the day I had so much more fun with 3 and 4... Or maybe I'm just getting old and harder to please lol.

Though i must state this, Unit Scales and UI can be fixed at the end. I personally don't care for it at the moment, they have more pressing matters to deal with. In fact, if the people paid attention to the live stream, they would see that towards the end, their was a glitch when declaring war, it broke moving any units, so we couldnt see mass naval combat as we were promised unfortunately. It still feels bland without the builder mini game. most of your turns will just get skipped until you discover a tech for example or run into a barb problem. The fact you could boost your production through chopping was VITAL to get certain wonders and made the game so much deeper

Having to research shipbuilding twice just to be able to send settlers over ocean is a huge investment in order to play wide on a non Pangea map
yeah, well, maybe they are trying to mimic the real life difficulties of settling on two continents. Throughout history it's always failed in the end.
When we gonna see the modern age finally!! It's my favourite part of the game
Civilisation 8 will come out after and cities skylines 2 still won’t be finished
Skylines 3 will come(unfinished) and skylines 2 will still be bad
Paradox games have a supported life of 10 years so yeah it's normal
CS1 after all the DLC was/ is perfect, just play that and let CS2 die (as it should, completely unnecessary game)
