So what I've gathered is that the big (maybe only benefit) is to the game backups and RetroArch for emulation. (Which doesn't even cover much wider an array of consoles than a PSP or PSVita does... not with acceptable playable framerates.) Considering your honesty about GameCube and Wii, PS2 probably hardly runs just the same. So in the end unless you're looking to steal games... I can only see one big benefit outside of backups here. Custom Themes. Which admittedly, interests me... but if I have to do all of this crap just for that and even risk bans/console damage then it seems silly. Actually... the rigged joycon might be the most useful piece. Just in case you need to fix a soft brick on these devices. Which is even greater than I'm thinking because that joycon would work on ANY Switch console for resets. Edit: Noticed some people agree. I use the Android side sometimes now- and occasionally boot Atmo to use my DS4. Truth is though, I rarely use the CFW side. Not worth risking a ban. I use sysmod and play online on my emmc. No emu shit. All the reading I did told me it was stupid to even prance around it carefully. I just do my thing and don't cheat or steal games. People say the emulation on switch is great but every video I see it’s dropping frame on even the simplest of systems. Switch hardware altogether is meh
It WAS great. Now I'd say Series S blows it away specially for the price
I got mine on 100 $ pure luck the guy didn't know it moddable it been 3 months im enjoying the litle guy
Can i even play offical switch games like red dead redemption on a modded switch for free or is just emulating old console games?
So what I've gathered is that the big (maybe only benefit) is to the game backups and RetroArch for emulation.
(Which doesn't even cover much wider an array of consoles than a PSP or PSVita does... not with acceptable playable framerates.)
Considering your honesty about GameCube and Wii, PS2 probably hardly runs just the same.
But really- I rather play my emulated retro games on my PSP when it's just me. The Switch is better for multiple players.
the first game looks fun what is the title?
If you can't put game cartridges in does it save your progress if you download it illegally?

Can i even play offical switch games like red dead redemption on a modded switch for free or is just emulating old console games?
I own an Xbox Series S and I confused between buying a modified Nintendo Switch or a computer with a GTX 1660 Super graphics card and a Ryzen 5 3600 processor .
I am afraid that a new version of the Nintendo Switch will be released after I buy the old one .
it's worth it for me because excluding the 5 games I bought when I first got it, I've probably played 4000 dollars worth of games that I've gotten completely for free + ds and n64 emulation😫😫😫
I have a version 1 switch. Just checked lol. Had no idea
Just got my modded v2 for $150 🥳
I'm thinking about buying either a modded switch v1 for $220 or a fully modded o.g. Xbox for $250 & the only issue is I think the modded switch is a better deal as I can play it on my hdmi TV without having to get an upscale type thing converter adjusting the aspect ratio on the Xbox if I just get the switch I dint have 2 do any of that. What do you guys think I should do?
Go for the switch, I own both systems and honestly being able to access all those games while on the go or simply laying on the bed is amazing. Also, it's really rare to see a modded Switch at that price, reaaally rare.
Youre gonna want to learn to mod it yourself so if you can find a unmodded V1 thats cheaper might as well go with that.
OG Xbox's can be bought for waaaay cheaper lol plus their very easy to mod yourself. Just get the Switch.
Hey, I’ve been falling down the switch cfw rabbit hole lately, and I’m interested in what you mentioned on using Lakka and android to run emulation better. Where can I find more information on that? Or just on how to optimize switch emulation the max.
Lakka is nice but I use Retroarch more. Have been playing OOT3D and MM3D on it recently :).
@@toonzelda3353 whats that
@@michaellopez112 A frontend application featuring numerous emulators in the form of cores. Retroarch is accessable on PC, Android and pretty much any moddable device allowing you to play older retro games via emulation all the way up to the 3ds. It doesnt work with gamecube or wii games however but can handle most games below that. Like N64 for example, SNES, GBA, Sega Genesis etc.
What game is he playing in the opening of the video?
Personally I’ll just tell someone to purchase a newer 2021 and forward Samsung Tablet which can run games very well from NES to PS2. But if you can then go for it, just be careful.
What game is the one before Chocobo racing? Looks cool!
I just want to do NES/SNES/GB/GBC/GBA + gamepass/PC streaming/remote on my switch, any advice?

I modded mine a couple months ago, however the pressure and fear of getting banned got to me and I made a mistake and got my switch banned, luckily, I was planning on getting an oled anyway so that was fine. However, modding ur switch does come with risks but it is easy to avoid them if u aren't dumb. Set up emmunand and only put ur modding stuff on there. I wanted to transfer data from my games to the modded versions like Mario oddessy and I'm pretty sure that's how I got banned as I tried using modding stuff on the sysnand without blocking Nintendo servers or disconnecting from the internet. I coulda gotten banned for something else but I'm pretty sure it was cause I tried transferring. The time I had with the switch before the ban was honestly kinda mid. I enjoyed it at first cause yk, free games and mods. However I slowly started hating the restrictions and having to be cautious every time I wanted to add, transfer, or even just do something that involved going out of the emmunand was stressful. Honestly, if u want to mod ur switch and have the risks, by all means go for it. You will likely have a fun time unlike me
Hardly anyone plays Nintendo online lol, that's what I heard mostly in these modded switch videos 😂

It’s extremely hard to brick your switch and you can only get banned from online if you pirate switch games or cheat in an online game
