just picked mine up today, so excited! If you are wondering what new homebrew users want to know is saftey on not getting your console banned that is one thing i am afraid about and atleast want to know about
I’m planning on getting a steam deck and want home brew on my switch since I don’t use it much and see more benefits in modding it then using it normally.
You can totally do it! Just practice on some cheaper stuff first if you don’t have the soldering skills. The v1/ 2 mod chip install is super easy, the oled and switch lite can be a bit harder, you can always buy a pre modded one as well, lots of options!
I own a modded v1 switch (had one of the launch models) and steamdeck rarely ever use my base switch as much unless when I want to play 4 swords NSO online lol.
You know what's the best advice? Mod your switch after it is out of service... It is not best advice just to tell people to mod their switch while it's still on service... just like how PSVita does
i get the feeling that you didn't mod your own switch, or that you got a erista switch with the RCM loader. i work with electronics daily, and those capacitors you have to solder the modchips to, are incredibly tiny, and anyone not experienced at least a little with soldering is likely to botch the hole install.
In my own experience game streaming from pc to switch is not a good experience. Less due to my internet speeds and more due to the minimal bandwidth the wifi card in the switch picks up. Has anyone else had better experience with this?
no, hshop is only for the 3ds. downloading games you don't own is illegal, so make sure you avoid tinfoil. you should also avoid the ghostland tinfoil shop, because it allows you to download games for free, and that's illegal.

i've had a modded v1 for a while now and i thikn it's one of the greatest things ever. i plan to get my oled modded whenever i can.

Agreed
I would have done it a long time ago if it was easier.
It's probably easier and less scary than you think
It’s very easy to
It's really easy. Trust me, I was in your position a while ago.

wait so modding ur switch isnt a soft mod but a hard mod (im new to the switch)
@@ninjaghost2846 V1 versions can be soft modded but every other models and version needs a hard mod
Careful with making any Nintendo-related content tho. Them bengoshis are legal vultures, you know.
Especially now N is on a rampage.
it seems a lot of trouble to patch a switch. I just want to play roms
And as for the streaming to pc... does it work for Switch LITE?
Maybe when support eventually ends, until then, no silly TOTK mods for me.

If psp and vita games able to play that would be cool
only cfw :/
What is the game that's shown at 05:30?
Super alloy ranger
I had one then I sold it to get the oled
but does it have the hShop?
No

@@newtzrcool I'd rather illegally import games than pay Nintendo prices, lol

@ Ppl said I can play online
Mine is in the process of getting modded also becareful Nintendo is going takedown happy again
Is it possible to still play online if Modded? I need advice... help... Please T_T
Yes you have to partition your sd card to have an emunand.
@ not with other games… but with those previously purchased, right? Or with ANY?
@@gnz_gaming you can only play on third party mm services if the game supports it, thats why modded consoles go for cheap
