If you have followed the channel for some time you will be aware that I fish a friendly competition with my good friend Jock Kettles. We have been fishing this for more years than I care to recall. Last year we took it to a new format fishing three famous Scottish Fly Fishing venues. This is the first video in a series of three. The first round was filmed at Glencorse Reservoir in what can only be described as challenging fishing conditions. Despite this we caught some remarkable hard fighting trout.

Hats off to both Lindsey and Jock!!! The video is obviously entertaining but the dialogue was priceless banter between two friends that love fishing and everything life throws at them. Even a day of Willy Wonka Water. Can't wait for day two of the KitKat Cup.......

You should see these two in action in person, they are fly fishings answer to morecambe and wise. I've been lucky enough to fish with both of them in a boat on separate ocassions, both of them are outstanding blokes and amazing anglers, with so much knowledge to share and who are always willing to share.
I personally have learnt so much from lindsay, during competition and practice days.
A true privilege.

Coloured water is a challenge. One that can give a great day when you get it right. Be it movement, vibration from legs, small and dark, flashy or brightly coloured. Often it can be down to the venue and what is causing the discolouration. If it is green water go pink or orange. When it is from a peaty run off as it was there. Boobies, bushy palmers, a pulling hopper, or I would have put on a cormorant with extra black or claret knotted legs. A great first day for the Kit Kat Cup. This year it might be coming home pal🤞🤞

Brilliant stuff lads , pity about the water clarity but with all the rain we've had i'm not surprised. You mentioned Jeff Latter , i fished with Jeff at Rutland many years ago..top bloke . Christ ,i was just thinking it was 20 years ago i fished with Jock at Chew , the only time i have surprisingly as we;ve fished in many many matches . Love the banter guys ..top notch ..cheers Stevie
Jeff is a legand Stevie, great banter and the boy was a hell of an angler. I was lucky enough to fish in the same International Team as him.

Great video again sir you can only get a fish if your fly is in the water even in hard conditions like that and I enjoy getting a couple on a hard day as much as loads in perfect weather

Hi Lindsay another great video, do you have any advice for someone like myself who has only ever fished from the bank but looking to get some experience fishing from a boat
It’s easier from a boat no back cast worries. My best advice is to get a really comfortable boat seat.
