With the weight of the clay and the fact it was frozen I'm not sure what the most efficient way is. This work was completed in just over one day for a time reference
My old man said that at night he would run the cats hard being 270hp 46a and the turbo exhaust housings would glow red after pushing scrapers and hard pushes of overburden. Had a fleet of 6 cats varying from ateco rippers and cat 4 barrel and 2 barrel rippers to bare back and winch cats and finally having an 8k all at the same time. Plus a d9h that had a new engine that was dyno'd and turned up to push our tires ts24 scrapers. Hp on the 9h was 436 hp.
I guarantee - when younger dozers have gone to the scrapyard in the sky, this fine old dozer will still be dozing!
It's a good one
What a beautiful sound there’s nothing like hearing these old Cats when they’re working .
Good tractor. A tree huggers nightmare.
Spent many hours from the age of 19-26 on H’s dozing and pulling scrapers , direct drive 235hp and the 270hp power shifts 👌🏻😎
Nice.
@@robertkollasch2473 thats a cool story I mean it
I run one everyday , D8h, just like yours and still love to watch and listen, thanks for video.
Wish I owned it. But I don't. A guy I know does. Take care. Keep operating.
Sir,wouldn't be more productive to run parallel to the ditch? Thanks in advance!

Kinda relaxing for me to listen too.
Music to my ears. I spent many hours on a 8H and many more on 8K
I loved the old h series I also ran the k series and then the n series
Never did have one of those pretty chrome stack like that. Operated a few that would run a blaze of fire after dark though.

Should have the factory exhaust pipe with the cone inside for the aircleaner dust ejector to work.
What??
Great engine sound good dozer
Why is the hood missing, it is not dark so you cannot see the red turbo which I am used to seeing back in the day. I miss that so much.
If I remember correctly the old hood had been smashed too badly to be salvaged.
Throaty! 👏
Is this Dozier for sale?
Not sure, look up the company Hoffert Heavy Haul out of Emmetsburg, Iowa n give him a call. Thanks for watching, Scott
