Player: *uses clear bug to have a total and invisible advantage over people in the Wilderness and robs them of all their items* Also Player: "I tHoUgHt It WaS a FeAtUrE!"
I used to do that knife bug with my john back in the day we used to make so much money from it we also had autorune let us walk through walls to get to areas quicker it would let us walk on water through walls fences everything... I know running wasnt a thing back then but my friend john had a bug/glitch that would let him run or at least walk much quicker then others he actually got put in the black hole and both of our rs3 mains have the disc of returning and a couple other rs classic items let me know if u wanna use any of my clips or screenshots I actually have one of him getting sent to the black hole for a auto kill bug
Omg this is a trip down memory lane for me. I don’t play RuneScape anymore, but I always had an interest in WoW but my parents balked at paying $15 a month for a game sub. So I got saddled with cheap man’s WoW: RuneScape. The grind was real. My whole grade 6 into high school was dedicated to RuneScape LOL
a really cool glitch back in classic was fatigue training. You would get 99.5% fatigue from woodcutting or crafting etc, then kill a monster and you would get no hitpoint xp. You could tweak accounts stats like this by having a few less hitpoints and a few more strength making ur staking account far superior
You should do some 2006-2008 era videos, I know a lot of people talk highly about those days of RS and that's personally when I started too, or maybe just pre-eoc vids in general.
Nice memories. Along with whining, there was another way to get ANY melee experience without hp. It was being done with sleeping bag and 99% fatigue. When account reached to 99% fatigue, you had to kill a npc and gained ONLY str def att experience without or very low amount HP due to the fact, that account hit 100% fatigue. There were numerous people used this trick to build crazy stakers/pkers, yet it took thousands of hours to actually get decent amount of experience. I think I have to clarify the fact, that you gained experience ONLY after killing monster, not with each hit, which means, that some higher level monster gave 2% fatigue for killing it, you were able to gain only 1% worth of experience and HP was secondary. Talking about bug abuse, one of the bugs, which is not very well know, still used to gain massive profits, was item deposit staking glitch. It had 2 different forms, first one, you could open bank interface in ANY place of RS with push of a button(and quite simple code). So when you started a stake, offered items and clicked accept, just with push of button, you opened bank and deposited those items and went to stake with no risk what so ever. This one was patched fast, but they could not fix the glitch of doing this same trick in bank. Many people gained loads of wealth abusing this. One of the cool scams was using needle to add 1 to your cash offer middle of trade. Needle use to be very light color, same as inventory. So when you added 2000000 gp and a needle after that, it kind of stacked and looked like 20000001 gp. This was used to gain cheap rares, needle color was changed to darker later on and second trade screen added. The birth of low level guthix mages. At first, there was a guy, who trained his defence to 40-50 with 77-80 magic. He was really low level, as you can imagine. He was first to run around in world of runescape and stake rares/valuable items with 50 combat higher mains. Mage ignored defence and hit constantly high. He did make bank, legal way. EDIT, I forgot the most funniest of them all: Runescape blocks your password, mine is *********. Haha. There are still so many things I could type, but I really have to go for now. Thanks for nice vids.
That was my Runite miner I ran it for about 8 months strait for a few tests, I also ran a Lavamaze bot for around 6 Months. I got over 120k Bars and Ores. I have over 7K screenshots from my time botting in 2017-2018. I fully maxed my main and got to the point where I was running 8 different bots at a time on RSC before the shutdown. I eventually lost membership to many bots but I finished off @ the watchtower dragons and then a week before the server shutdown I manually shut all my bots down. I always will love RSC. I Since started botting on Diablo 2 running three bots and enjoying it. I love to see the results the bot can get and testing out different scripts. It's a lot of fun for me.
Hi, I did play back then and I believe it was just range/magic, no physical because they could retaliate. I also remember most of these bugs and caused a few changes in RS classic as well. Good times.
I'd like to hear about the phat dupe, i know it occurred but i think like a lot of the community we are unaware of what actually happened. Thx for the vids, they have been great.
10 knives equipped hahaha the good old days. I played in 2001-2004. I wish I had known about this glitch back then. I remember the black hole and disk of returning. If someone had told me to drop it because you get something cool, I would have. I was so gullible back then. Probably still am.
Another thing, is around 5:30 when that guy is setting up a cannon, the cannon came out after the black hole was removed from the game, so that wasn't the black hole being actually recorded. What it probably was, is back in the day when you'd go to a free world when you're normally in a members area, it would look like that. Then again I don't think you can setup cannons in a free world, so it coulda been something else.
The glitch only allowed low level players to cast spells on high level players. There was teams of low levels running around with fire strike killing people.
I know of a bug that came out with the construction skill that allows you to kill players outside of wild and get their items through a complex glitch that maybe only around 20-30 people in the world ever saw including the people that were its victims. Its not the Fally massacre glitch, its way more complex and involves the "spinning plate" a low lvl with high agility, a high level mage the veng (its a tick manipulation glitch). Its so unheard of that I wouldn't be surprised if it still works in oldschool. Every few years I look it up online to see if people know about it but I never see it. PM me if you want to hear about it. I used to be a major scammer and we used this glitch to take multiple party hats and other rares.
the coin dupe glitch is likely related to the fact that 2^16 is the upper limit for an unsigned short in java (potentially integers in older versions?) / 2^2^2^2 (4bits) and is roughly 65k
AutoRune by Kaitneiks ended up becoming SCAR which stood for Shitter than auto rune (the color botting community) which was later taken over by freddy1990. Development and scripting then went onto srl-forums/villavu.com which became Simba. You can find the history over on villavu if you are interested :) we are the oldest scripting forum for Runescape.
Cool beans, so they changed it some point early on from a 16bit signed int to a 32bit signed int, that explains the 65k, I wonder what the bug was now!
So after this video I can kinda see why Jagex is so against third-party clients even when the clients seem harmless. Autorune had such a big effect on bug abuse and I guess it scared them enough to make a rule about it.
Yeah, the big thing with AutoRune is how it abused the game. Everything is done via packets - sending what your player is doing over the internet - but AutoRune could fake those packets. Later they encrypted them, and that solved the problem
JorisTriesGames from what I remember it was something like that. Was a little while after PvP in wilderness had been popular, and when a player was killed something happened. I have some friends I'm gonna talk to later and see if they remember exactly what happened
Telling people to try on the new black gear and them not being able to reequip things like addy or rune because they never trained attack. Not so much a bug, but a mean prank.
dont rly remember i think they just didn't have level requirements in the wilderness like lvl 1 wild lvl 2 wild ect so anyone could attack anyone but it wasn't really a big deal because before the wilderness anyone could attack anyone neways
Final glitch- i can confirm that in addition to mage or range, low levels could also attack high levels with a stiff 4 inches or pinky finger in the bum. What a massacre
Wasnt the item dup glitch where jagex gave perma-membership to first person to show them how to while banning all other subsequent players? Or something like that
Honest question. How and what browser are you using to play Classic? I am wanting to log into my account and build up to kill KBD before it ends and none of my browsers are loading Java.
On the classic page thee's a link above the worlds that says To start playing, install the RuneScape client then select a worldThat will get you going (:
ahh okay sorry if you said that and i missed it. Thanks for the quick and straightforward reply. Absolutely love these videos, I was always the kind of geek that kept up with weird facts, glitches, whatever else about runescape since I was a kid. These videos remind me of a lot that I learned back then and teaches me about things I didn't know
Very sad, I've played a lot of classic I'm sad to see it go, and I wish their reasons were better. But the game had to go at some point, I'm just glad we were given a warning and sometime to enjoy it still
Crumb I didn’t play until 05, but have watched and played classic and it stinks that it’s gotta go, hopefully at least for me Is that maybe they release classic during certain holidays? I’d hate for it to just disappear, but I do understand the reason behind it
Sorry its taken to long. I dont have photos or anything but i was one of the lucky ones. 1 of my mates (i forgot who it was) Told me about this bug with the waterfall quest. Basically how it worked was you completed the quest then started again. You went to get the necklace and the pebble and went back to the quest end and you could complete it again so you could do the quest over and over again. I started doing it and i was 75 att 78 str 50 def and only 40-50hp. I stopped at round those levels because i was so worried about my hp level being so low. Lucky for me i wasnt banned but my friend was. There was about 1000 players banned and they named every single one of them on the official website. Just imagine if this bug was still there today.
I was one of those guys who dupe pink purplehats. I remember that day like yesterday when my friend teach me that. You could change like bronze sword to partyhat :)
Weld? Smithing method?
LeviathanUK sounds like some highly advanced technology that we wont see for millenia

Very great. I’d enjoy to seeing this series continue
Thanks man, I'm glad to hear!
Awesome vids and I love the classic scenes thanks!!!

Hey Crumb, keep killing it kid. One of the best Runescape video makers currently.
Thanks man (:

Got yourself a deal, next video is about that era (:
how interesting, I didn't know how many bugs that were taken with advantage thank you :)
Love the idea man! Always been interested about these
(: Glad to hear man!
You make amazing vids man, you sound almost scripted. Highly enjoy the content. Your work shows.
Nice vid bro, waiting for the next one!
Glad to hear man (:
i can't get over him saying Weld instead of Wield XD XD
love these kind of vids! keep em coming !
Nice memories.

This was a really cool idea man good shit

Love your videos, you deserve a lot more subs!
Thanks man (:
There's no I in Team. there also doesn't seem to be an I in weld.
awesome video!

Might just do a video on it if I can find enough stuff that other people haven't covered (: Glad you've been liking the videos!
10 knives equipped hahaha the good old days. I played in 2001-2004. I wish I had known about this glitch back then. I remember the black hole and disk of returning. If someone had told me to drop it because you get something cool, I would have. I was so gullible back then. Probably still am.

That was studies728, at RuneFest Andrew Gower put him in the blackhole
Crumb that's so tight! Haha
Combat smithing confirmed. Great video, but omjesus it's wheeled = wield.
Keep up the great work ♥
Thanks Synica I appreciate it a lot man
Great videos mate

RuneScape Glitches: The Early Days of Bug Abuse
bro learn how to pronounce wield its not weld lol its like wheel'd
great vid, looking forward to more bug abuse!
Pronounce it like wheeled :) Great video!
the coin dupe glitch is likely related to the fact that 2^16 is the upper limit for an unsigned short in java (potentially integers in older versions?) / 2^2^2^2 (4bits) and is roughly 65k

Bug abuser here. Always welcome to do an interview.
Im so glad this bothered other people "weld" 😂
That number is specifically 65535. It was the max stack (2^16-1) in 16-bit like 2147m (2^32-1) is the max now.
Cool beans, so they changed it some point early on from a 16bit signed int to a 32bit signed int, that explains the 65k, I wonder what the bug was now!
Amazing video.
Thanks pal (:
The day that castle wars came out you could range people in the castle wars lobby from the zammy/sara base.
I like your protect from mining prayer at the start of the vid
Good series, hurry up.
Thanks man
I have played since 2001 (ign iPod) and I got tricked by that disc of returning troll when I was really young, Paul had to teleport me out
9:45 65k is the max value of a 16-bit integer like a short or a char in java. I think that have to do something with this.
Welding in medieval RPG's? Nice glitch mate
Gonna be cliche and say it too like everyone else and their dog, but Jesus I was so confused by that "weld" shit lmfao.
God the nostalgia, Crumb, do you know of any runescape classic games? Like private servers tbh I just wanna feel the full nostalgia lol.
OpenRSC :P
@@Crumb oo nice thanks brother!
I know something about the 65k dump glitch but it's just from memory, I have no proof
Spill the beans! Better than nothing, maybe it'll spark someone else's memory
Im Maxing RS he said 65k not the 72k fuck up...
Im Maxing RS Are you talking about the 65k glitch when the wilderness didn't drop your stuff but something the same value?
JorisTriesGames from what I remember it was something like that. Was a little while after PvP in wilderness had been popular, and when a player was killed something happened. I have some friends I'm gonna talk to later and see if they remember exactly what happened
I remember back when that dupe happen all you needed to do is get 65k and kill something that had atleast one gp and it would dupe 65k
Watching this reminds me of how ruthless runescape classic community was lol.
just incase you want to update it, the disk of returning ended up costing 5gp it never was 10gp
8:19 take that bit without any context
Did anyone else think the Report Bug Abuse button meant that someone was bugging/bothering/annoying you? just me...?
lol thats cool the whole packet thing
Telling people to try on the new black gear and them not being able to reequip things like addy or rune because they never trained attack. Not so much a bug, but a mean prank.
You’re a sir, I like this sirs video :D thanks dad for the entertains
dont rly remember i think they just didn't have level requirements in the wilderness like lvl 1 wild lvl 2 wild ect so anyone could attack anyone but it wasn't really a big deal because before the wilderness anyone could attack anyone neways
Rip classic
sad days
Love it
When I picture someone welding a knife...... Like with a hot iron..... Wtf man (but awesome vids)
Lmfao my bad man, my pronunciation skills are trash
Final glitch- i can confirm that in addition to mage or range, low levels could also attack high levels with a stiff 4 inches or pinky finger in the bum. What a massacre
Only feedback for the series would be... Just don’t touch on current glitches, only past ones.
I love welding things.
I know about the 65k dupe glitch. :D
ooooooh, _wield_ 😊
Wasnt the item dup glitch where jagex gave perma-membership to first person to show them how to while banning all other subsequent players? Or something like that
They said the first person would get perm membership but I'm pretty sure they just banned them instead
I dont like the Idea of giving active abusers the glory of an interview.. Otherwise, cool series!
Weld dude really lmao
...weld? Wtf its WIELD (WEE - ULD) cmon man
Is that a Canadian thing, to pronounce it “weld”? I’m going to have to say “wield” all day to cleanse my brain.
Weld crumb why do you say pink when its purlple?
Honest question. How and what browser are you using to play Classic? I am wanting to log into my account and build up to kill KBD before it ends and none of my browsers are loading Java.
On the classic page thee's a link above the worlds that says To start playing, install the RuneScape client then select a worldThat will get you going (:
I'm confused, how did "wining" your stats down prevent hp exp from being gained while training?
It would allow you to attack training dummies which didn't give any hitpoints exp
ahh okay sorry if you said that and i missed it. Thanks for the quick and straightforward reply. Absolutely love these videos, I was always the kind of geek that kept up with weird facts, glitches, whatever else about runescape since I was a kid. What are your thoughts on classic shutting down
Very sad, I've played a lot of classic I'm sad to see it go, and I wish their reasons were better. But the game had to go at some point, I'm just glad we were given a warning and sometime to enjoy it still

Crumb still a good vid and that’s all that matters :D
I have information of a glitch from 2004 for rs2 to do with a quest waterfall
Spill the beans my man :p
Sorry its taken to long.
I dont have photos or anything but i was one of the lucky ones.
1 of my mates (i forgot who it was) Told me about this bug with the waterfall quest.
Basically how it worked was you completed the quest then started again. You went to get the necklace and the pebble and went back to the quest end and you could complete it again so you could do the quest over and over again. I started doing it and i was 75 att 78 str 50 def and only 40-50hp. I stopped at round those levels because i was so worried about my hp level being so low. scarce is that you???
I was one of those guys who dupe pink purplehats. I remember that day like yesterday when my friend teach me that. You could change like bronze sword to partyhat :)
What do you wanna know? I did alot of shit pre eoc, currently? I wouldn't leak shit
Would rather wield my knife than weld it.
