Thank you for this documentary. It's so sad how being homeless is a very thin line from having a home

Truth is that breaking into Hollywood is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Agree. My old roomie was an actor in LA. Even just to be in the same shot as a main actor you have to have years of experience. So whenever I hear someone say “oh they were ONLY in one movie” etc or downplaying someone who got famous’ success, I cringe. It’s soooo much work to even get on camera once!

Unfortunately, you can't make it on luck alone. Have a backup plan, another career at the ready. Everyone knows only a tiny percent of actors make it big and a lot of them grew up in the industry, so they had an "in" from the start.

It just makes me sick how we let these people have all these award shows the Grammys, the Emmys the sags they get all this free swag and get all these free clothes and yet none of them say no I don’t want that. Let’s just donate it to some people that can use it.

I'm from LA. I've lived her all my life. Please don't come here. If you want to work in the entertainment industry, stay home and do it locally. Please don't come here.

I kind of hate these stories because it paints such a bad narrative of failed actors. Like if you don’t make it in Hollywood you’re going to end up homeless and a meth addict. What about the stories of the actors that quit but became success in other careers? Like the actor that failed but went on to law school and now works at a successful law firm? Or the actor that moved back home and opened a successful business? Or the actress that decides to hang it because she wants to get married and start a family? My thinking is that these actors that end up in the streets likely would have anyways no matter what profession they wanted to pursue. They are broken people. I don’t say that to be demeaning. I just don’t think that simply not making it in Hollywood leads to a life living on the streets.

That was extremely moving and terrifying at the same time!
I've just recently found myself homeless after my boyfriend left me and with nothing after I got too caught up in drugs with him and it distorted everything and now he thinks I'm completely somebody else which I'm not but now here i am homeless and loveless without the love of my life and nowhere to turn with no safe roof over my head and these are most definitely the darkest days of my life!!!!!! 💔
