- In the not too distant future, an elderly multimillionaire Steve Batyer, who is also terminally ill, has accepted an offer from RPG, which was that a group of customers get the opportunity to "get a younger body". Makes more sense to sell them bodies that last a year and they need to renew their subscription to every year to stay alive.
Eventually the company goes bankrupt, the scientists die off, or the building blows up. Now it's impossible to renew the subscription. The billionaires know they have less than a year to live. What do they do?

Not true. Millions of people die on operating tables yearly due to cosmetic surgery failures in the hopes of reversing time, perfecting their physical insecurities, or changing identity.
Adventure-seeking enthusiasts sign death wavers just for a second's worth of thrill to invigorate their lives to skydive, bungee jump, etc.
*A LOT* of people go into situations openly knowing they will die immediately if something goes wrong...and do it anyway thinking they will defy the odds. Rich people have way more access to dangerous things on higher levels. If there was a program that let billionaires live inside the brain of God for a day, but die a day later....there wouldn't be any billionaires left on Earth. I can guarantee that.
What's the point of incredible wealth if you have to subject yourself to the risk of death? Why not pool your resources and buy out the game company? Or fund a corporate espionage campaign and steal the tech?

Because the one who wins gets to keep the body forever!!!...it's a stupid movie...if the technology exists to permanently transfer the mind of an old person to a new one without the new body dying after the process...why organize the stupid game?....why not sell the technology for a hell lot more than 5 billion dollars a pop considering that there are nearly 3000 billionaires in the world in 2024 and this is the future we are talking about!

I had a hard time finding "Nighthawks." It stars Sylvester Stallone as an NYC cop, while Rutger Hauer plays the bad guy opposite him. I eventually found the movie on Apple TV.
