    Wonder how I would do this on a Fuji GFX with a max sync speed of 1/125th. Still need to get an outdoor beauty dish setup.

      If you can’t raise your shutter speed you could use ND filters to help lower the ambient exposure.

    I'm always gonna go for strobe, as it's one of the remaining advantages over smartphones. Depth mapping can fake bokeh, but phones still can't sync to strobe.

    Great vid and shots! I love the lighting. Not over powered and retaining shadows. I see to many photographers blasting their subjects with light giving it that flashy look making the subjects face look flat.

    I am slowly acquiring equipment and would like to get into portrait photography (outdoor portraits) but I would like to know how often do you have to ask permission to set up a tripod and strobe? If it is a public park, etc..., are there likely to be no problems?
    I have a location near me, for example "mead botanical garden" which requires an open-air permit, $1 million dollars in general aggregate insurance, and $500k for each occurrence in order to shoot with "props" at their location.

    Nice shots, like always. If you would shoot 2.2, I think going 2.8 with a 24-70mm would be a better choice. That way, you have that range, and you don't have to worry about using the 24mm or 35mm primes.

    • @EliInfante
      @EliInfante 11 місяців тому

    With 35 mm lens the wide aperture will not blure the background,so you can use a smaller one

    Hello Eli Infante. You mentioned that you use a 35 mm lens for portrait. Isn't that more suitable for environmental portraits? Can you please share your thoughts on why 35 mm lens would be better for portrait photography? Just curious to know since I was under the impression, that anything beyond 50 or much better 80-85 mm would be a perfect lens. I look forward to hearing back from you.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Neck rot going on there. I'd use the awesome Westcott Eyelighter 3 and you didn't pose the models hair! Hand on the rock loses her energy and her feet are not posed and never pose a model with a leg at camera unless shooting a shoe or boot ad. Now it's a poor no energy shot of a leg and knee. Arm way to close to her head and elbow needs to be out more, Arm should never touch head so there is no head in the vise look. Broken tree is such a horrible location.

    Every time I watch your videos I regret buying the FJ 200 and not the 400. The 200 doesn't off that punch

  • @KarlFakkari
    @KarlFakkari 7 місяців тому

    Love the video, one thing I noticed is that because of the diffuser size, there was a diff in the light on the rock the subject was leaning on. I think for the shots in the beginning a bigger diffuser will def do the trick.
    Greta work!
