  • TYPE O NEGATIVE FULL LIVE BIZARRE FESTIVAL TV VERSION SHOW GERMANY HD 1999
    The DVD was recorded on Sunday August 22, 1999, at the 12th Bizarre Festival in Cologne, Germany. This gig was originally recorded for a German live-in-concert program, WDR Rockpalast, and broadcast on German television. The band bought the live footage because it seemed to be the best one available to date regardless of the previous TV releases. Twelve cameras were used. The DVD does not have the performances of the cover songs "Back in the USSR" and "Day Tripper Medley" that were part of the live show and TV broadcast.

      Philip Zantjer Oh man, SO jealous! Pantera was my favorite band in high school. I loved them so much, had the 3 home videos and idolized them. I was still a bit too young and far from any cities so I never got the chance to see them. When I was a little bit older I figured I’d eventually catch them on their inevitable reunion tour :( RIP Dime! RIP Vince! RIP Rex Brown’s pancreas!

The atmosphere, the contrast to the previous part, the blizzard sounds, the progression, the epicness. Peter Steele had a great admiration for Paul McCartney and his ability to play and sing harmonously. As old as I am, I've never heard TON's version of "Back in the USSR". They do it great justice. If you're going to cover anyone, you can't go wrong with Beatle songs. I'm fortunate that both bands were in my time eras. I grew up with the Beatles and saw TON in the '80s. I miss them both.

I absolutely love how much emotion the entire band is putting into this show, I would say to the audience at this show "consider yourself blessed, this is "one" of those shows you'll never forget." I prefer bands that actually sound even better than their studio albums, my God that intro to Black No 1 is intense, goosebumps every time I hear "I think she willlllllllll" Thank you for preserving this masterpiece of a show and setlist...I don't think the drab four knew how many lives they touched with their mind blowing synergy of sound.

    I'll never forget the first time I saw type o in Tampa Florida at the Masquerade and then I was fortunate enough to see them again in Allentown Pennsylvania at Crocodile Rock right before Peter passed away. • @samimissy8190
      @samimissy8190 2 роки тому +9

      Pete stated he was so nervous playing sober that he was afraid he'd forget the songs because he has extreme stage fright. I don't know how that could have been 'tough to see' as it should have been great for anyone who valued him to see him embracing sobriety.

    • @michaelwolf6424
      @michaelwolf6424 6 місяців тому +1

      @@samimissy8190 By the time of his death, Pete's health had succumbed terribly. He needed oxygen from tanks backstage for breathing. Too many drugs and alcohol caught up with his frenzied lifestyle. What was even sadder to me was his demise from the weight lifting fitness giant he once was. He needed every crutch he could get his hands on. Had he not passed, it's doubtful how much longer he could have performed. And certainly no where the brilliance we all want to remember.

    Talking about never getting to see them live...I was 3. I had literally just recently turned 3 when they were out in Cologne doing this show. At that time, no one knew that they were going to one day be my favorite band.
    I first discovered "Christian Woman" at 22, and while I am now 26, (and I had never been able to pick a #1 favorite band before them), they are that #1 favorite band.
    I absolutely LOVE Peter Steele. Out of all the f*ck boy musicians out there, he's the only one that has always felt real to me...warts and all.
    I really...really wish I could have met him like most of the older fans - but because our lives took place in different times, and he passed away too soon, I will never get that chance.
    So thank you. Thank you for giving me the closest thing I can get.
