ABOUT THIS FILM
____________________
Scotland's pine martens
These pine martens were filmed on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in the west coast of Scotland where there is a thriving population.
Conservation
In the 1900’s predator control and habitat loss almost drove this species to extinction in the UK and these animals are still very rare in England.
Tracks and signs
To find the pine martens I look for scat piles, droppings that these animals, like most mustelids use to mark their territory with their droppings.
Nocturnal animals
Pine martens are mostly nocturnal, but can be active during the day.
Pine marten diet
In the wild, pine martens eat anything from fruits and berries to small mammals and birds. To encourage one to show itself, I spread peanut butter onto a rock and a woodland branch.
Good climbers
Pine martens are extremely agile and can climb vertical tree trunks with ease. They have long sharp claws which help them grip on slippery rocks and trees.
Solitary animals
Pine martens are mostly solitary, until the breeding season, which is July and August.
So, when I spot three on my cameras I know it must be a family. The youngsters are so playful!
Its great to see so many pine martens thriving here on the Ardnamurchan peninsula!

Thank you very much Robert for sharing your wonderful world with us. What a privilege. 🥰
Thanks 😊
A side takeaway of this video: it's not just dogs and humans who like peanut butter, half the woodland seems to be into it! Lovely to see these animals, and their neighbours 🤎
It's true!
I find that a lot of creatures love nuts. What better nut than peanut butter?
@@IlivfrhorrrWhen I was doing wildlife rehab, I discovered that strawberries were another universal favorite. 🍓🍓Mine too!😂
@@Ilivfrhorrr According to the family of squirrels that live in the tree in my front yard - cashew butter beats absolutely everything else.
Your patience and endurance, Robert, rising early and staying up late to see the animals is impressive. You just need a machine that ejects more peanut butter after each visitation. (I wondered if one should get "low sodium" when it's for animals). As a child, I thought a pine marten was a bird since we never saw them in Texas - well it does sound like it should be a bird. It's so nice to see them thriving.
He probably used one of the natural trans fat, preservative and salt free versions that don't add other species oils either. They usually are sold refrigerated. Thanks for bringing up the important issue of what we feed wildlife for our own interests isn't necessarily what they need. ♥️
Thank you for brilliant photography and commentary. We have a relative to the Pine Marten (Борова куница) living in our attic, here in Bulgaria (more likely a Polecat).
Thank you so much for taking us to such a stunning, beautiful place to see the wonderful pine martens. Such amazing video and commentary also. The deer were really great to see also. Thank you for all you do to help and preserve all the creatures of the wild and raise awareness about them all. ❤️🙏
Ich stimme ihrem Kommentar zu .🤗
Aw, a Marten video yes! They are everywhere here in the Balkans and I love them. One used to live in my attic in my old house and we would hear it walk around up there at night. When I stay up late at night in the summer i spot them occasionally and love watching them look for food and climb places. You can spot them during the day as well sometimes. They are very agile and cute animals I love them. Hope to see more videos on them.
Pine martens are my favourite land mammal. Have been to the spectacular Ardnamurchan peninsula, saw a mink but no PMs. Just a wonderful video. 😊
Sooo cute!!! Thanks for filming and showing this to us all 💖🤗

What could I possibly add to the comments that haven't already been said? Exquisite, stunning, beautiful, amazing, brilliant, lovely, outstanding, gorgeous, spectacular, creative, excellent, wonderful, perfection, educational, impressive, enjoyable, pleasant, and magnificent. In view of the commentators' expressions, Mr. Fuller, suffice it to say I have nothing further to add except to say, "Thank you for sharing your videos for all to watch."❤
Beautiful animals and wonderful scenery.
The view of the lake reminds me of the Harry Potter movie when the 3 friends escaped on the dragon. 😊
Those Pine Martens are adorable, and they have beautiful markings, too. Thanks for sharing your hard work with us.
You are so welcome!
You know what they say about all work and no play...that was exquisite. Thank you for sharing your amazing videos.
Gorgeous animal and spectacular views! Thx Robert👍🍁
Glad you enjoyed it
Stoats and least weasels are always wonderful, but pine martens are by far my favorite weasels. Just the greatest little critters.
Yes l love Pine Martens too we don’t have any living round here so I watch the stoat and weasels more
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing. Fat thumb up here & looking for more.
It was so lovely seeing the pine martens! I have always loved them and really happy to know they are thriving in Scotland! Wonderful Robert, thank you.
What beautiful creatures pine martens are - thank you Robert for a lovely video.
EXOTIC AND BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS, SUCCESS ALWAYS TO EVERYONE, GREETINGS FROM INDONESIA..❤❤❤
So happy to see you Robert.
And seeing your magic of clicking this par excellence.
Stay blessed 😇
Thanks for watching 😀
Hello and delighted to observe these endearing animals and this is a sign for those who think.
Again, I love watching & listening to your soothing voice! I love all animals!💜🙏💜🙏💜
Look at the pine marten’s shiny, sparkling fur in the night videos! Then a tad past 4:00 it appears to have sparkly fur in the day. Is that because it’s the same marten or do they all sparkle?
Wish I could cuddle up with Little Sparkles. Can’t help anthropomorphizing when watching many of the Robert E Fuller videos. It adds to the wonderful feel of observing living creatures in their natural habitats. Thank you. 🦫
They are beautiful little creatures! Tfs❤
So cute!!! Reminds me of a ferret or stoat. Very adorable!
Beautiful animals and the area is beautiful there also.
Your videos make me feel good…thanks…
Fascinating!
Wow what an extraordinary video. I love watching this kind of video more from you. Amazing nature

Pine Martens sure are cute and remind me of ferrets. beautiful scenery too.
Yes they are cousins of the ferret - same animal family as badgers and otters too.
Thank you so much! Such a gorgeous little beings, it’s lovely that take the time to appreciate them and share them with us. Lovely location as well!
Thanks for the great filming
Thanks for this one! Was so sweet to see so many at once, especially a kit playing! Such a wholesome film.
I love Pine Martins. They're one of my favorite animals in the world. Thank you for showing us one.

Thank you for all you do and for sharing it with us so freely. My dream is to own one of your original prints obe day, but for now, I may just have to settle for a mug. 😊 Thank you❤
Great scenery and a cute subject. They seem very well adapted to their home.
They are beautiful. I was fortunate enough to see a long tail weasel where I live on the Olympic Peninsula not far from the Dungeness Spit. We have 2 here, the short tail, and the long tail. 😊
Super.
HI ROBERT

Lovely .
Robert, thank you, yet again for a wonderful pictorial story. The pine Martins remind me of the Honey Badger, although the HB are fierce.
Very nice scenes 👍👏👏
Loved seeing the family together ❤️
Thank you very nice land and wild life . Beautiful
I like the colours on their chest and throat.😊
Love Pine Martins ♥️
Seeing a Pine Martin eating flowers was astonishing! I thought they were carnivores like foxes. I learn something new from every video Robert posts. Cheers, mate!
Pine martens eat a wide diet berries other animals mice and voles squirrels eggs and birds
Actually Foxes are omnivores same as the Marten here, though both have more of meat preference they can still be found eating some foods like berries and nuts.
The Wildcat is probably the only true carnivore in the UK.
your voice and videos are always so calming to watch and listen to. ^^
Awww such a cute little guy!
Beautiful 🏴
They have such pretty colouring. I'd never heard of them until your introduction, thanks Robert. Amazing little creatures. Thanks Robert 🧡
❤ watching this. Such a fascinating 🤨 creature the pine martin
Thank you for this small documentary,Robert.
I've seen one in the park nearby jumping from one three to another.
This brings up a very good memory to me.
I love them so much❤
I'm very pleased with this video,
T🐾
Love your work Robert!
Thank you.
I had a family of pine martins living in my unfinished basement of my cabin. My cabin is in Island Park Idaho USA. I had a camera down there and got ALOT of great pics of them. There was a mom and 2 babies. I would be glad to share them with you. They are fun to watch.
so beautiful
Very few people these days have the patience to capture wildlife like you do. Waiting can be a talent unto itself, and I'm afraid it's one that not many people are bothering to cultivate anymore.
Thank you very much!
It was my first time seeing this animal. It's a very precious animal. Thank you for sharing. Anyway, your wild intuition and peanut butter effect are amazing.🔮🔭
Excellent video really enjoyed watching it.
Thank you very much!
Delightful.
Wish I was your apprentice LOL. Cute creatures.
You're doing something truly special with this channel, my friend, and I wanted to thank you for it. Few people ever get to see these little ones in action, and I'm sure some people out there weren't even aware they existed until seeing this video. And not to mention the production quality, which blows me away every time. I feel you deserve a prize of some sort, but alas any prize I'd have to offer you wouldn't be very prestigious.
It is a wonderful opportunity to see different wildlife. I'm not familiar with pine Martin's. Are they weasels?? They are adorable ❤. Beautiful footage Robert 😍
They are part of the weasel family
@RobertEFuller good to know. I kinda thought so they look similar.
Amazing
Wonderful work, Robert. I would be great if you do a more technical episode on how to film these using various lights and cameras in low light conditions. Thanks!
So cute ❤
The way they move reminds me of the kind of stop motion animation in Clash of the Titans 1981.
Super! Merci pour la vidéo!
Paradise🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Just goes to show everyone loves peanut butter
The deer are beautiful as are the pine martens
😆 I don’t like peanut butter, but it leaves more for the pine martens and even the deer 🦌
WOW, WAY COOL
Cool. What type of peanut butter? Creamy or Chunky? Lovely views.
You know they don’t mind! Whatever is spare
Now thats some quality fuzzy noodle footage
Adorable babies. I bet they would make terrible house pets, though.
That mongoose is really interesting
We don't have mongoose here in the UK - this is an elusive pine marten.
@@RobertEFuller oh I didn't know thanks for the correction, I am from Pakistan and it just looks like the mongoose we have over here, again thanks for all the contribution you are doing in this wildlife world
Nice deer and calefs❤❤😂😂🎉🎉😢😢😮😮😅😅😊😊
Great footage. However, I would like to know if you bait animals with regularity, or if this is a special trip and therefore a one-off. I also question the use of nighttime lights. Looking forward to your thoughts.
Everything loves peanut butter 🥜
Scotland is where my Daddys family are from. The Keans.
Pine martins are beautiful, but i still have a grudge against them since one broke into our rabbit enclosure and killed 6 of our rabbits when i was younger. Still, i guess its the cycle of life. Stunning video still, wish you all the best
So surprised that you have peanut butter in the UK. 37 years ago, there was none to be found! 🥜
Any more news about the Pine Marten on Spurn Head ?
One at Spurn recently.
That’s interesting
Came down from Dalby Forest -- a distance of 60 miles apparently.@@RobertEFuller
❤
I've never seen a deer eat peanut butter before.😂
