Awakening is the fourth major expansion for Endless Space 2. It introduces the Nakalim, a once-vast galactic empire whose remaining people fell into torpor millennia ago, waiting for the prophesied return of their murdered gods... I think. Now their heralds have awakened them, and they must step into the once-familiar unknown and try not to get killed by angry space birds.

Vodyani have the best ship design by far, from the smallest to the largest all their craft look like they mean business.
You put a straw on the ark instead of a soup kitchen, that's why the retrofit was so expensive.
Now it gives planets the big succ
Seeing you play all the different ways and races this game can be played in really motivates me to come back and play myself after you motivated me to buy and play it in the first place so.. thank you for hours and hours of fun and excitement with both your videos and the game!
I agree, my ability to get my head around ES2's mechanics has been largely due to these videos.

I'd recommend using the meditation module to make anchored arks not attackable. It beats having to constantly retrofit arks with weapons and as a bonus vodyani systems are very hard to invade since arks can draw from empire manpower.
Also don't forget to check tech tiers for unlocking more ark modules.
I prefer arks being able to YEET enemy's scouts and small pirate fleets, and i always have a proper hero-led armada handy to intercept any kind of large push. That said, having played with stealth recently i can honestly say "fuck that shit, AI is too good at making sneak attacks" so maybe i'll use meditation next time.

Had no idea the improvements are stored on the ark. Wouldve been good to know that but ive only played them a couple of times. Still won too.
You might wanna try going Dictatorship government this game. The dictatorship only pinned law for the religious party gives extra experience for all heros and +1 influence per population point. That might not sound like a lot especially with how vodyani population works but this basically makes up for not being able to run influence planatary specializations. Also Vodyani don't have problems keeping their empire above unhappy generally so the early rebellions shouldn't come into play (unlike with Horatio yuck).
You have happiness issues with Horatio how? The ecologist law that is special for them includes a +15 happiness on system. Plus assimilation of zvali means +2 happiness a turn
I love admit & improve. Fully skilled ships are just so much better than newly built ones. I also usually go with that with the Hissho since they had a similar mechanic in ES1.
You should really check which resource boost your population (since it's so good) and explore galaxy as quickly as possible to find it and settle the place before anyone else. OR research Galactic Commodities ASAP.
With that kind of manpower issue I feel that going for A2S Slugs module should be a priority (you won't get rid of the pirates and your plant neighbours otherwise). That protector Rack ship hull looks like a perfect candidate for a siege design.

Makes it very difficult to compete for wonders in timely manner and really fucky to relocate.

i think there might be some funny stuff with the Laws that takes each pop into account. I think it counts your pop count for the science as 3 since you have 3 planets in the starting system, thus you got a bonus of 9 instead of 3... might be exploitable later ;)
