I think your videos are unique... they are short and to the point... there is no detail explanation but they give you a clear picture or an idea what to do.... just brilliant ! keep them coming. People like me who can't afford quality sim racing peripherals will definitely benefit from these kind of videos.
seriously you have such a talent! really nice videos, they encourage a lot people that does not have any idea on how to make this kind of stuff. Appreciated
amstudio I assemble the "DIY SIM RACING DASH DISPLAY" according to your video. When i start SimHub it shows the clock on the displays. I already put the plugin on to the folder win_86 for Ets2. I have donated and install the license. When i start the Ets2, the game don't show the message from SDK and the dash display don't work when i start to drive on Ets2. Can you please help me?
Rui head over to the support section on the Sim Hub download page someone can help you there. Unfortunately I don't own Ets2 to provide you with a solution.
ahh yes the burn marks of solder.... now its rare for me to burn myself but in the beginning it was almost like a 1:1 ratio 1 burn 1 soldered cable joints ...
Hello Sir! Thanks for the video, it was really helpfull. Received the parts yesterday, built it today, with a few modification (I didn't solder on the PCB/parts as you did, too afraid). I took some tiny power cables of old PCs, wich plugged perfectly. Nox, I just have to bluid a box to put it in. One more time, thanks again!
By the way, SimHub is at 5.3.1 BETA at the moment, so, as you say in the description, we gotta take the parameters you enter @4.22 in this video, and enter them like you do for the Tacho Vid', in the Hardware Setting/Open Arduino Tool/Sketch Setup. Then, it works perfectly fine on Project Cars, gonna try it with Assetto. One more question: will you authorise me to do a video and talk about that on a forum (of course, you got all the credits, as the site, the links will stay the same), but, in French (I am french, and some of my friend would like tto do the same, but english isn't their cup of tea)?!
How can you mount on the wheel without making the cable into mess while turning the wheel or did you wired the nano arduino into the g29 wheel? Because I want to mount it on the wheel just like yours in 0:01
great video..one question though..did you change the leds on the tm168 module to replicate the rev of a car?like green to red as you pres the accelerator harder
yea the solderin part n build is easy, the software/sketches im a lil on da fence about.. but i have ben trying to find out if it will work or can b moded to work with dirt 3 , i found out it will work with dirt rally but 3 is lot more fun i thnk..
very interesting. i had not really looked into how much support there was on the software side for this. guess this will my next project since having gear/speed/revs right on the the wheel would be very nice. i'll see if i can get away with using my current components, but if not, i'll just order the module. i had wanted to build the shifter and ebrake first, but the paddles/button seem to do fine for my use case so i might skip those and build this instead.
Idk if anyone will see this, but what size wire is used here? I am looking to complete this project along with the vibrating pedals and I am trying to get a parts list together. Any info would greatly help
Very usefull video as always ! Thanks for sharing ☺! You should drop the different parts of the project in the description (LED board, arduino board, vinyl wrap,..) 😌.
I will try to do this for the ETS2 as well as the Button Box. The bad that I live in Brazil and buy the parts and difficult to find and imported takes time to arrive.
im looking to make the button box that you have shown- but with an lcd display- im a complete noob at electronics and this will be my first project- anything i need to be aware of- or overlaps in the guides i need to know?
What are the buttons below the LEDs for and can they be rewired, Also do you know if this will work on other games that werent mentioned in the description such as forza horizon 5?
Will male to male connector wires work just fine if they are just generic or do they have to be male to female wires that you solder in to it? I only have male to male but everything else is ready so just trying to figure that out
I have one of these style shifter light n speed board but I broke a capacitor wonder if I can replace it n will need a new USB cable as think i lost it.
Its 3m double sided tape, you can also use hot glue. Carbon vinyl wrap, carbon plate would also work. Search ebay/online and you will find these items.
yea i found that about 20 mins after i had msged ya.lol. but thanks again..o an i like ure big gear indactr..thts cool..,i may build tht next haha! but thanks again for all ure help...
Are there like...Different displays you can have on the screen? I'm probably going to make this (it will cost me £15) but I'm not a huge fan of that layout. Eventually I would like a proper one that this guy makes with an LCD screen, but the Nextion screen he uses is kinda hard to get (have to order it from over seas) in the UK and it's expensive, so I might just make this instead for now.
Yes the same device that you use in this video for example 3 in first you show timing Lap in real time, the second position/gear/speed the third show rpm or delta... you think is possible-?
The Nano V3 ATmega328P you listed in your description is a diferent one than you actually used. The one you used in the Video is a RobotDyn ATmega328/CH340G. The Chips apparently are the same.. Still I´m a little confused which one would work better as I have no idea of these electronics. Help would be appreciated :D thx!
ok so ive tried this build, and i cant get it to work. all the soldering is correct with no cross overs, ive flashed the nano with the correct software in the correct format. but it just wont work. any suggestions?
Hey man, awesome project. Could you please tell me where you got that particular tinted acrylic/plastic and what exactly it is called? I have bought a couple different variations off ebay to use with my current gear indicator however they all have a brown tint rather than the blueish color of the one you are using. I would love to find out exactly what kind of tinted acrylic/plastic that is so I can purchase some myself. Thank you very much for the project btw, I have wanted to do a custom HUD like this using one of my Arduino boards but never got around to it. Now that you have simplified everything I will be revisiting this project. My goal will be to install some segmented sections and individual LEDS into a custom button plate using an Arduino Nano.
Hey Seth, the HUD sounds like a good project, I'd like to add more displays and customize it further also. I used tinted perspex, also called plexiglass which I purchased from the electronics shop. It looks blueish on the video but is more a smoke/grey color. Search for - Grey Perspex - 195 x 195 x 3mm.
I think your videos are unique... they are short and to the point... there is no detail explanation but they give you a clear picture or an idea what to do.... just brilliant ! keep them coming.

I was wondering if anyone had worked out how to pull these details from ingame... absolutely sensational 👏
no thats just insane first the handbrake second buton box and third this little screen with these pieces you can make the best racing simulator EVER
I did it myself. It costed me 15 euros and took me around 45 min. It's awesome, not gonna lie.
Nice! Yeah its a good project.
amstudio One question man, what did you use to attach it to the wheel?
Made a small metal bracket, attached behind the wheel.
where did you get the parts? im in the UK
Does it work with ps4
Finally someone with a brilliant intelligence could do it
PD : The Best channel Of SimRacing DIY
Awesome video like always!
instablaster...
I just discovered your UA-cam channel. You're doing the projects I want to do. I look forward to your new videos.
Congratulations!
Thanks!
@@amstudioprojects I totaly agree with Melih. Can this display also be adapted with an ps4 or is it pc only?
@@marnkleinholkenborg5852 PC only, you need Sim Hub to use it.
seriously you have such a talent! really nice videos, they encourage a lot people that does not have any idea on how to make this kind of stuff. Appreciated

im doing this one first! then the gear indicator thank you so much for making these videos going to make my sim racing experience so much better!!!!!!
Dude ... That Marga Cipta (MC) Acrylic tho! Awesome!
Awesome as usual
Thanks Kai!!
amstudio were do you get your parts
Chickedyy i think he cut it whith a knife or a cuter be careful it is very frajile
Brought the parts today, thanks for a very professional and easy to follow tutorial
Software is even easier to setup now, its all included within SimHub
One of the best tutorial UA-camrs ❤❤
you should start a company and build this stuff and sell it. I bet you would make a lot of money
That’s what I’m saying
Well I put mine together today and it works great. Thanks for your videos man!
I build it yesterday and it works great, thank you for your Videos
Do it yourself, make it BETTER! GOOD WORK, man!
Outstanding work, you encouraged me to do this. Kudos for you!
I enjoy watching your videos man, good stuff..
Thanks again!
Good Job, mate!
I ordered the parts and built one myself, it works and looks awesome!
Nice!
How much would it be to buy an assembled one? I'm not comfortable with soldering yet and I'd undoubtably screw something up.
its extremaly expesive that way. 100 - 200 usd
anyone can make this for less than 20€
Death2508 solder is easy like an hours and you'll have a few burn marks but you could easily solder that it was like 7 soldering points
ahh yes the burn marks of solder.... now its rare for me to burn myself but in the beginning it was almost like a 1:1 ratio 1 burn 1 soldered cable joints ...
Ricardo Pinho happened to just a minute ago, didn't even notice, must be immune to solder pain XD
Looking dope!, just want one thats work in my real car haha. Nice video man!

Really enjoying these videos!
How do I change the model to show fuel and air pressure in ETS2 and ATS? Making a video will help me a lot!
push the second button from left to right
You are insane!! Keep Up the good work :D

Hello, what AWG (30,28,26,24,22,20,18) type is being used as the copper wire?
Everybody gangsta till amstudio comes in with the carbon fiber vinyl
great video..one question though..did you change the leds on the tm168 module to replicate the rev of a car?like green to red as you pres the accelerator harder
You're awesome man, I like your videos.

im thinking about building this very soon .. maybe 2 of thm.. thinks for the video good job !!!
Hey Bigchew, yeah its a great project.
This is some awesome stuff!
Did you have the arduino sketch ??
That is such a great build indeed. Salute for your hard work. One problem though , Those racedept files are deleted any way i can get it?

Why The nano v3 isn't the same one that you used ? Not gonna be a problem isn't it ?
I will try to do this for the ETS2 as well as the Button Box. The bad that I live in Brazil and buy the parts and difficult to find and imported takes time to arrive.
Did it work?
nice video, very impressive. for noooobs like me .... I had to install the USB driver to select "COM4". I have a nano V.3 "GoodLuck"
Good work!
best diy g29 mods chanel for sure
can plz you make a setup video, i am sure it will be great
Time to Subscribe :) Thanks for sharing ...P.s why dont you use carbon fibre sheets? 2mm should be ok for your projects...
im looking to make the button box that you have shown- but with an lcd display- im a complete noob at electronics and this will be my first project- anything i need to be aware of- or overlaps in the guides i need to know?
If you lack a soldering iron use the pins of the board and the nano(if the one you buy has pins) and use jumper wires (female to female)
Jays wondering what you used to mount this to the bottom of your monitor? Also what was the plastic you used for the faceplate? Plexiglass?
Could you give me the link for the plastic, and what types of screws, nuts, and drill sizes did you use? How did you cut the plastic?
Going to build this one! :)
==========================
That marga cipta perspex is from my country hahah
@amstudio i built it like u but my led dont work do u have an idea?
hi there great video i have build 2 off these, question how do get them both running at the same time
What are the buttons below the LEDs for and can they be rewired, Also do you know if this will work on other games that werent mentioned in the description such as forza horizon 5?
you do awesome job man!
what do you use for carbon fibre wrap for these builds?
Where can I found SIMHUB PACKAGE?
You just earned a sub
how did you get the wheel working so well with assetto ? like the ''soap effect'' is non Existenced...
Where do you get the cables?
Great! but can i change the colour of the led? (i want led 6,7 and 8 blue)
Wie immer super Video du bist der beste , weiter so
Is there a way to incorporate the buttons to this?😊
may i ask what wires u are using how "AWG" because the ebay link is showing a few others.
Cool video! Although Im wondering which type of wire you used? I have to select between 30/28/26/24/22/20/18awg
Thank you very much for this!
Hello
I have ordered the parts needed for the TM1638. But can not find any dimensions for the board. Can you tell me how big the front sheet must be.
Where did you buy the tape 2:24 and the carbon plate ? :D
Its 3m double sided tape, you can also use hot glue. Carbon vinyl wrap,
carbon plate would also work. Search ebay/online and you will find these
items.
Thx :)
and the glass, that covers the digits
I love your video! I always wondering.....how do you mount that display dashboard under the monitor? I always want to try it out. Thanks!
hola como hago para conseguir la configuración del Arduino si me puedes ayudar
Hi, awesome video! I have an Arduino one R3 , can I do the dashboard with this arduino? Thanks!
Its essentially the same , just nano is a smaller size
yea i found that about 20 mins after i had msged ya.lol. but thanks again..o an i like ure big gear indactr..thts cool..,i may build tht next haha! but thanks again for all ure help...
Hi I can not download racing dash 4.0.6fix 2 ,I can not find it,omeone would help!! thanks

I like your video, this is obsessive compulsive disorder
how much would one of those cost me if you build one for plug and play for g29 for ps4?
Brilliant! Subbed
can you do a video where you use more display 3 or 4 in a very complete dash...witch schematics and sketch? Ty for your video...they are fantastic
Thanks, do you mean like linking together this type of 7 segment display?
Yes the same device that you use in this video for example 3 in first you show timing Lap in real time, the second position/gear/speed the third show rpm or delta... you think is possible-?
where do you get the nana boards and wires and all that stuff from?
All the links are in the description
Can you combine this with the boost gauge and tacho? Can it run on 1 Arduino or do I need to buy 3?
you make great videos!

Is there a display such as this one without the shift lights? like the shift lights in your other video better, but like the look of this display. =]
Is it possible to use an Arduino Pro Micro for this project or only Nano ? I'm learning Arduino but i don't know differences between cards. Thanks !
what thickness of clear plastic and where are you getting it?
can I use the tachometer, this panel dash and RGB REV LIGHTS, in the same arduino nano v3?
love your vids man! very easy to replicate!
peace & respect!!
Great vids! Very useful
Do you think it's possible to add a separate 1inch 1 digit 7segments led for the gear? This would be great!
Thanks
Perfect video, I just bought the parts, are the tm1638 buttons programable ?
how i would do only to show the lap and the position??
ok so ive tried this build, and i cant get it to work. all the soldering is correct with no cross overs, ive flashed the nano with the correct software in the correct format. but it just wont work. any suggestions?
Hello Amstudio sorry but the mod of the TM1638 Hub Parckage display that you download from the race department is not there. Where do you download?
See this latest video ua-cam.com/video/AbLSNcKhkuE/v-deo.html, Then just setup the TM1638
I need the Assistant setup to change the display numbers ?:
HubPackage-> Arduino-> DisplayClientV2 -> SetupAssistant
Amstudio could you give me your email that I write to you and send you a screen of the file?
Paky31ta@gmail.com
Can this display be used for radios at flight simulators?
Hey man, awesome project. Could you please tell me where you got that particular tinted acrylic/plastic and what exactly it is called? amstudio awesome, thank you very much for the reply 👍
how the purple plate and the carbon sticker calls?
where can I find the project for the arduino (HubPackage)
Where can i find the simhub software?
Does it work with ps4 (Gran Turismo Sport)?
