Story 1 remjnds me of another post where the bride refused to invite single men to the wedding in order to provide a 'safe space' for her single women friends, and the groom caved to her demands. This wound up costing the couple many of their friendships.
Oh, I remember that one, the groom was actually not on board with this, the bride kind of literally forced her hand and made it like this, and they made almost all of their single friends mad and almost all of them cut this couple off, and the groom was actually fed up with the bride after the wedding and I think he said he didn’t like her anymore much .
Story 1: What is that Jane’s problem with single people? Like we exist lady! And we are quite adapt to social norms, it’s not like we were living in an uncivilized manner just bcoz we are single. And she not only ruined op and his friend’s relationship, she also burned another friendship with her own friend, what a blinded women ! Yeah yeah, people are gonna say this is her wedding ,blah blah, but it’s the grooms wedding too, she didn’t even let him have a say in it . And now, years of friendship ruined by a woman . I’m not saying the friend is completely off the hook, but it feels like Jane pressured him into doing what she wants with the invite list .
S1: Man I have serious reservations about Jane.. That friendship will take a long time to repair.. S2: Duck that friend!! 6weeks enough time for a regular invited guest to plan; as all she has to do is pick out a dress!! It's unfortunate she has to work, but no way would I plan my small backyard wedding around a friend's issues!!
Story 2: wowwww, the stark contrast between op in story 1 and the friend in story 2 , both being invited as guests . Op in story 1 was the well wishing type of guest, whereas the friend in story 2 has some screws loose in her brain cause wtf ? She was so rude and disrespectful, atp I would’ve removed her from the guest list . What is up with that lady? Does she think the world revolves around her ?
Partners who ruin friendship sucks. My friendship with ny best friend suffered the same way. We still friends but she moved him miles away, always made me feel unwelcome and even had her parents round my birthday when my friend arranged me seeing their new place miles away for that weekend so we felt awkward going out that that as he was going to wingman me originally to help get my confidence up with that.
Story 2: Short notice sucks. Definitely should have given more notice but it is what it is. She needs to find cover now. If she’s the only one then sorry some of the others should be also be fired for leaving it a 1 person staff issue in first place. Should give about 3 months or so.

No bride should have the final say about most parts of a wedding. The COUPLE has final say, because this is the start of true partnership

I really don't understand how 6 WEEKS isn't enough time to find someone to cover for 1 day, what kind of chef is she? A Michelin star?
