@@simmysharma6845 the modem is definitely better compared to p6p and p7p I had. But unfortunately I suspect the modem is still not as good as the other flagships. Eg. I get h+ at 0.4 Mbps on my p9p fold but 4g at 4 Mbps on my partner's iPhone 15 pro. Both on the same vodafone network travelling in regional Victoria Australia.
The strides pixel has made still does not make this a $1099 phone .

@@MsJeni2000 You messed up. If you were transferring files and copying data from your old phone, of course, it's gonna be hot. I've been using it for a bit now, and playing intensive games on it with no heat issues.

So I switched from an iPhone back in 2021 and have never thought about switching back. The pixel is pretty much an iPhone. I had no adjusting because it was so similar other than the fact that the side buttons are different. There is a big but though.. if you have an apple system (Apple TV, apple laptop, etc) or if all of your family members and friends have apply and you are tied to iMessages, you wont get the same functionality with the pixel. Went from S24U and realized how amazing stock Android is, especially optimized. The pixel 9 pro is freaking incredible.
It's very very clean and smooth. It's also much snappier than One UI
@@valismind the animations is what got me. The beautiful fluid animations from touches and actions. Also the haptic feedback feels way more interactive than the s24 ultra.

The processor is adequate for right now. As software evolves, I believe it will show its age faster than the other current flagship processors. One might say its already struggling with something like Magic Editor like you mentioned.
Pixels seem to stop the same somehow, as they don't really slow down or lag with age . I've had Samsung's and they start to lag more with age
I waited a couple of months after the Pixel 8 Pro was released. Purchased one at $580. Honestly the P8P is the worst Pixel phone ever made.
I have used iOS for 8 years. This phone made me switch to Android and I don't regret it for a second. It is a premium phone, extremely fast, an excellent camera, the AI function is insane. I recommend with the greatest confidence. Well done Google!

@@abcd2574 For my perspective, yes. From my research, iPhone 16 pro max is not very different from 15Pro Max. I use and test my Pixel 9 pro XL everyday and i can sincerly say i didnt find a bug or heating problems till this day. Everything works smooth and Gemini is a very very good AI option. I really think in the upcoming future Google will be on the top of the list with the new flagship Pixel phones.

This is an amazing phone! If you're thinking about it, just do it! You won't regret it! Owned it since day one and its amazing, coming from an iPhone 15 pro max I don't miss the pro max at all, great work Google!
The only phone with power button above the volume button. No double tap to lock. Other than that, no issue. I'm using it since 22nd Aug.
I actually really grew to like the placement

How about the over heating issues
Face recognition on the Pixel is such an underappreciated feature. This feature makes it that much easier for an Apple user to switch to a Pixel.

I've seen a few videos where we are being told the pixel 9 series has fixed the overheating issues from previous generations, i hope this is true as I'm ready to upgrade my Pixel 7 pro because of this reason lol
I believe it's true. I have the 9 Pro XL, and it's been running smoothly and no heat problems as of now. My 6 Pro, and 8 Pro were suffering from some heating issues. The 8 Pro wasn't as bad as the 6 Pro, but it was still noticeable. 9 series seems to fix that. We'll see if that remains the case once Android 15 is released.

I've gotten tons of shit from my galaxy fam, but I honestly love my 9 pro xl! My last 5 phones have been galaxies, and I don't miss them one bit with this phone.
I like Samsung, Pixels, even iPhones. I steer clear of other brands . My go to android is usually the Pixel line

I've had an iPhone since the first version. I've tried pixel 3,5,6 and 7. None of them compare to the 9. It's truly replaced my iPhone and I'm living it!

Compared to the S24 Ultra, what does the Pixel bring to the table? A lot of AI and other features are there in the US, but hardly any other countries. The smaller form factor of the none XL and the better photos of moving targets seem to be the only two real upsides?

The pixel 9 pro is a better version for me but it's not forthcoming. We're still on the wait list from Google store and I'm sure most people who are buying the XL will end up buying the Pro as well. The XL is just too big. I bought it and returned it the next day. And when I held the pixel 9 in the store, WOW I can't wait to get the Pro in my hand
Been enjoying my Pixels since 6. I do think the XL should be bigger though. Compared to my old six, the screen size is only slightly bigger..

You didn’t mention the “Call Notes” feature. This feature WAS NOT on my Pixel 9 Pro XL. (in Canada)
I returned my Pixel because on a phone call Google told me “Call Notes” was on the Pixel before I ordered it, and then after I discovered it wasn’t, a member of the Google Pixel team told me “Call Notes” isn’t available in Canada.

Really like the look of this phone compared to the 7 pro I had. I barely used my 7 though when I had it. I'm thinking of buying it eventually though.

Currently got an iPhone 13 mini, the poor camera quality is starting to get annoying. Was considering the iPhone 16 pro, but after seeing a Pixel 9 pro in the flesh, I'm now strongly considering this.

I upgraded from Pixel 7a to the Pixel 9 pro not the XL model. So far so good , much quicker as expected. Pictures are good but honestly not entirely sure it's worth twice the price of the 7a..
For a basic phone user I wouldn't recommend parting with € 1 000 plus Euros for a device for basic usage.
It feels like my 7a but with a different design..
Probably my last flagship , I don't see the value in it but that is just my personal opinion.

Considering I upgraded from a small pixel 5 I should've been wowed, but meh... it's just another phone. Definitely not as snappy as samsung or apple phones. It does what it's supposed to though.
I feel the same way... There is no point of buying Pixel in Europe where it doesn't have half of it's features and doesn't have flagship specs for the inferior price.

Not sure why you guys keep complaining about the phones launching with Android 14. It doesn't take anything away from the phone. Plus Google obviously launched the phone earlier than usual this year, so it makes sense why it didn't come with Android 15. If they forced Android 15 on it and it came with a lot of bugs, y'all will still complain about it. I much rather prefer the stability of Android 14 till 15 is ready to be rolled out.

I have both, deciding switching from iPhone 15 pro. S24 ultra SOLID battery and signal, many useful software features , little bigger, got super thin case. I am almost decided to start using s24 ultra. Pixel little comfortable to hold, not happy that we can't remove search bar and clock from Home Screen? if I use 3rd party launcher then not that smooth and battery also I feel not as good as s24 ultra.
Go for the s24 ultra you will thank me later

i also just picked up the 9 pro xl, and the salesperson i bought it from said my old pixel 5 was the only one he had ever seen without any major cracks, dents, or scratches, so i wonder if it might not be your bad luck
I just switched from iphone to the samsung s24 plus but this was a close Contender the tensor was the only issue for me with the pixel.

Maybe it is just me but the display calibration is entirely too cool feeling. Coming from the 6 Pro, honestly the colors are significantly worse. It's definitely brighter in direct sunlight and handles heat better so that's certainly a worthy trade off I suppose. Would prefer if they offered more granular customization options though for color preferences.
Love your reviews. What I hate about Google, is their strategy behind selling their Pixel 9 Pro , it should have been all together.

Longest i kept a phone, feel very little reason to upgrade other than s finnicky USB port (wireless charging mitigates this issue mostly) and a terrible cell radio, i usually have the worst reception of everyone i know lol maybe pixel 9? or 10? or 8 on clearance? I've had pixels 1,2,3,4, and 6 lol
You're wrong about Video Boost honestly. The reason is that you can NOT shoot 4k 60 HDR on this phone. You have to use video boost, and then you get both. I also have used the low light video recording and it totally needs Video Boost to clean the noise and add HDR.
Does it worth the upgrade from the regular one to the pro or the pro xl ?

Only thing I dislike is how heavy it is
The only issue with pixel is it won’t last for 3-4 years hardwarewise if you are a heavy user like me. If you are a moderate user pixel will live for 3-4 years. But again if you are a moderate user why even spend so much on pixel. Grab an old iphone for half the price and use it for 3-4 years.

Great review and kind of advertising pixel . The honest truth this days about phone is that on average, every flagship phone will solve 90% of users need. But every phone has specific functions that made certain phone not comparable to others. Iphone- more smooth ,simplicity based on how aple wants it ,reliable and eco system, pixel simplicity, law android, every benefit of Google including so Called AI ( there is no AI existence yet , all high capacity programmed cpu ) samsung ultra - s pen , dex , versatile, pretty much any functions you think of , simple only if you study the phone , great reception. In general if you want pictures that look more appealing to eye or social media, all rounded cameras, top of the line zoom -samsung , more natural looking pictures -pixel , best video in day time - iphone . Battery between all 3 depends of the apps you using, certain app is optimized for certain phones. In general I choose samsung s24 ultra , cos I like saturated pictures, better screen , I love spen for taking pictures when set your phone somewhere, I use dex for movies , fingerprint unlock works best on samsung and more convenient especially opening important apps while you operating your phone with your hand already. It plays game without heating up at all . Google pixel was great when the price was like 500 cheaper. Now it's not matching the price as the chip is no way close to Qualcomm or A17. I like iphone but hate to use phone that I can't control by myself and can't use 3rd party apps on. Which makes it feel like just mid range phone with great battery, processor, camera but that's about it. I'm glad apple is implementing more customisation and option to make you wanna play with your phone more. Yet to try one plus 12. As it seems good. Best phone is determined by what you want to use it for. In general if pixel was as before and you need just good phone that is cheap then pixel. High end phone that will offer pretty much anything you want , as computer, tablet etc samsung, simplicity, pair with other apple products, great daytime video iphone. General photography and video will give that to samsung due to more options.
📸 great video, i like the new design but looks a little iphonish to me. As far as the AI features the one i get to use the most is music search and circle to search but not overly impressed. As far as the cameras I don't see a great improvement over the 8 pro and when I compare it with the S24 Ultra and the new OneUI 6.1.1 update it is superior to my pixel 9 XL.

Idk honestly, it's very preferential. Pixel is simple, clean, snappy, comfortable and has great cameras. Plus has a lot of quality of life features that are genuinely really useful.
Processor is slower on paper but it depends on how much bloatware installed and how the OS runs…this I think google probably has Apple beat.
Apple was known to artificially slow down older phones with their updates. Apple was sued and fixed the issue, but we never know if they truly fixed it or used another way to slow down older phones. This signals Apple’s integrity issue and how they treat their customers to squeeze out more margin for the business, it seems more and more Apple is becoming more stock performance centric than customer focused company. The culture of innovation at Apple is now swapped out with milking for cash with zero innovation or progress compared with other smartphone manufacturers, it now just do cheap mimics of other phones, very sad. Mind boggling how one man can make such a big difference in a company.
This is going to be my next device, but i will buy it maybe in between february and march of 2025 when it cost €200 or €300 less than today.
The Pixel 9 Pro is a decent mid range phone. However the 9 Pro is priced like a flagship phone, and that will continue to be a problem.
