For anyone wondering, that horn you are hearing is a K5LA which is often used on Amtrak Trains and other Locomotives 🚂 Such a beautiful chime it makes in the distance 😌
Me too! Train was practically in our front yard lol. Love the sound of a train. Like you said takes me back to childhood and better days. My mother would always say, there goes that ol lonesome train whistle. Over 50 years ago. God bless you 💜
Its so comforting to hear this and realise that theres people still working people still out and about. The world is still being productive giving you the time to have your rest
I'm so thankful that I live in a house that is the perfect distance to train tracks. I hear the train in a similar fashion to this. The distance has to be perfect too. I would never want to live right by the tracks, not just for safety reasons, but because at that distance the noise would just be horrible and loud. But at just the right distance it's extremely soothing.
I have a set of tracks behind a park I used to go to growing up. I lived a good distance from it, and the sound of the trains became very comforting for me. When I moved, I could still hear the trains from my new sound but I had to try really hard to hear it. It’s a rare treat for me now
this reminds me of when i would sleep on the loveseat at my grandma and grandpas house, my brother would either sleep on the longer couch or in my granpas room. they lived close to a train so no matter what i always heard it, this one day i remember my mom taking me and my brother there and it was pouring. when we walked in the news was playing and i wanna say it was 2016, i stayed the night and i remember hearing the rain and the train. everything has changed though. my grandma passed away, my grandpa moved into a trailer near the old house, the old house has changed completely, and i grew up. i miss it a lot, love you grandma. ❤️🩹
Thank you so much for Sharing your memory with us! There is something so nostalgic and relaxing about the combination of trains, and other sounds! I hope you find it, soothing, and have a wonderful night!💜
Thank you so much for this. I remember as a child growing up in Arkansas, I'd hear a train blaring its horn somewhere off in the distance, mostly at night. I'd lay there at night and listen to the train, and it'd relax me like nothing else. I also loved rain, it'd always rain in Arkansas. You've mixed two of my favorite sounds to sleep to in one video, and I thank you for this.
When I was a kid my grandpa worked the railway, when we heard the train whistle we knew he was coming home. Thank you so much for this, it's very comforting.
I absolutely love love love the sound of rain and a train whistle blowing in the distance. The rumble along the tracks is everything! While this may be “old school” to some people. It is life for me! This sound demands a certain respect! Beautiful! 🥰
As a kid growing up on the prairies in Canada in a small grain town I remember listening to the trains at night and drifting off to sleep. Thank you for posting this .
Pouring rain with subtle train horn is beautifully peaceful, sounds, just like aromas can effect us as memories or just reassuring feelings of peace, I'm an old man now and what I hold dear to me is peace of mind. These sounds give me peace of mind. Thank you.
I sadly don't have a connection to trains, especially none like these because I'm not from the US. But there's just something so soothing about these horns.
When I was quite small, my grandparents lived in a little country town down south, right across from the railroad tracks. We'd sometimes spend the night there and sleep in old wrought iron beds covered in stacks of patchwork quilts made by southern ladies' hands. Late at night when it was quiet, and even the dogs had settled down, the train would chug by, first starting with a low rumble, followed by that mournful sound. The rumble would build to a thunder until the train passed and then slowly fall back into that distant cry. That was our signal that we were safe and sound and all was right, waiting for morning when the smell of bacon and coffee would awaken us.
My family moved out to the sticks when I was 10 and a few miles from us, there's train tracks. There's a lot of vehicles in the area, too. Pickups, semi-trucks, and not just cargo ones, but these almost Eldritch configurations of pipes and nuts and bolts whose purpose I have *no* clue of. So the road by my house is *loud*. In a way, it's white noise. You either get used to it, or it drives you crazy. And it's comforting, knowing that the world is still going on. Reminds you that you're not the only person who exists :)
Well said! Near our house is a constant white noise of traffic from the highways beyond. When we compiled the sounds, we left those out! I hope you enjoyed and found some relaxation.
I use to work on a mainline at night and frequently it would rain so while we sit in our trucks waiting for trains to pass on the mainline I would hear this sound and it was always calming listening to dispatch and hearing the distant horn it was good I liked it

Ahhh this is exactly what it’d sound like when I’d open my windows at night back in Washington. Soooo homesick right now :,) this is helping❤ now all I need is a video that provides the smell of rain and a slight breeze through the screen….
The only thing missing is my older brother snoring and farting in the bed next to mine. Such wonderful memories. Fernwood and Atlantic in Lynwood CA in the early 70's.
So, my memories of distant train sounds never happened at a train track. it'd be on my street playing, or from my backyard, or downtown surrounded by old brick buildings. It'd be nice to see a visual like that during a train sound video.
It is somewhat reminiscent of childhood... in our country, however, the typhoons of locomotives sounded different. The house was located in an industrial center and within earshot of three different railway lines. As a child, he even caught the radio conversations of the station's employees
What is relaxation? ... I'm sitting now comfortably closed my eyes, listening to this wonderful music, and just forgot about everyday life ! Thank you for this wonderful moment of pure relaxation!!!

Wonderful! I love hearing about such great memories! 😺 A fellow Okie! 👋🏻 although I have never slept with my window open I can agree that stepping outside sometimes it feels like the railroad track is right on top of you! as I write this reply I can hear the rumble of the train on the tracks miles away. 😺 i’m so glad you’re enjoying it! The trains still run quite frequently here even though our town isn’t overly large, I hope they never go away!💜 rest well!
As I listen to this, it is midnight and raining in my hometown of Corpus Christi. And a tain has begun passing through the area near my neighborhood. I live a mile from the rail line.
The sound of the train coming with the fog is so fantastic and wonderful! I enjoyed a very good time while resting well with the sound of comfortable rain👍👍👍
I can remember hearing this when I visited my family in the mountains of Appalachia. It stirred my senses back then as a child and it does now as an older man. Thank you!
And the way the #5 bell squeals and becomes really prominent like that is my personal favorite! The 2 and 4a bells reversed, and the 1, 3a, and 5 forward. And since the #5 bell squeaks and hollers because it’s also pointing at you. I love it when that happens because not only will it get your attention, it also sounds really cool and good!!
This is exactly the atmosphere that I like. The sound of the train on the rails, the sliding on the tracks, the whistling to alert, the tinkling of the rain pouring down generously. Divine providential rain that offers the earth a lot of slush, and these mists, fogs, drizzles that make everything mysterious, mysterious mystical (M M M = Alliterations! Humor card) I love your creation where really, we feel the realism of the nature in the torrential rain, in some place far from the cities, in the countryside perhaps, and then the whistles tell me that the train is moving in serpentines, in convolutions, it is perhaps due to the different winds, either they amplify sounds by bringing them back or push them away by carrying them away, taking them somewhere else with them. It's raining ropes, it's raining ropes: should I climb it or hang myself? ! I am in this train, dreamily I suspect the landscape when the mists wither, become bundles, half-open for a few moments. This opaque, mouthful view always makes me think that anything can happen, like some good and pure, sweet magic, like a gift:)) Thank you for this breathtaking visual and for the realism of the beautifully calibrated, balanced, relaxing sounds! A marvelous journey in the heart of a countryside, mountains, valleys and mountains... It's so good to be comfortably installed in a train car, drinking some hot drink, to be at rest, dry , so cozy, while outside everything is gray for me, but above all humid and very wet, gloomy and cool when cold, depending on whether you are totally or a little less rinsed off by the rain. The 3 lights of the locomotive intensifies the realism of this trip in the movement of fogs and mists dear to my heart. Wonderful video, stunning visuals and amazing natural sounds of this very cautious train whistling, warning of its passage. That's good, by the grayness outside. The whistles emanating from the train become a symphony, a melody! Great job. Perfect alloy of the rails rolling on the track in a mechanical way, like a lullaby, in total harmony with the preventive whistles and the friendly, reassuring sounds of lady rain which becomes a celestial and refreshing deluge. It is fauna, flora, lakes, rivers and seas that are thrilled when it rains like this! I love rain and this type of weather. Two shadows on the righ seem to be looming. It looks like two people or it's something else. With thick fogs, the vision is often treacherous. I see what suits me maybe or my brain is playing tricks on me. Sacred train ride that I will not forget. I loved it all. Very good vibes. So relaxing and exhilarating. Bravo & Merci : ))
@@Selkie7 This spooky, eerie, creepy creation but also so reassuring: this train in the distance sliding on the rails of life, the horn to be heard, in addition to the full headlights and this smog, these mists, this drizzle and fine delicate rain , pleasant tinkling ....: perfect to celebrate the first day of September that I wish you wonderful! Long live this entry into the round of September which leads us towards the expanse of night over day, over rains and frosts, winds, rustling colored foliage, dead leaves making their last journey... There is what to dream. The best with all my heart, I hope you sincerely.
I feel very fortunate to live about 150 yards from tracks. I've been here about 8 months and I love it. But of course it's not a constant sound. They go through maybe a couple times an hour. Possibly even more frequently...I've never timed them. But your video fills in the gaps between real trains going through my town.❤

Thanks 😺
Just what I was looking for! Great TY
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!
Love this bc the train sounds are truly in the background. Not overwhelming. Perfectly balanced. Ty.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! 💜😺💜😺
This is sweet! Thanks
I’m glad you like it!
I can remember hearing this when I visited my family in the mountains of Appalachia. It stirred my senses back then as a child and it does now as an older man. Thank you!
Wonderful! I’m glad it could bring up fond memories! 😺
So glad you like it!
Excellent dear Friend.
Have a perfect time!!
Thanks so much
This is exactly the atmosphere that I like.
Thanks so much 💜 so glad you like it
Thank you for taking me on a journey 💗🌧️
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain...
So glad you enjoyed the journey! Have a wonderful day!

@@PurfectRelaxation You are welcome my friend 🙏
Not in any harm, I just like trains and rain
So relaxing!! Love love train trips - so soothing!☮
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it
When i was a child,my Dad would say "if you hear the horn on the train, know that everything is fine..."
I’m so glad it could bring up memories! Have a wonderful day! Thank you so much for watching
Wonderful! The trains go through here quite often as well! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it so much! Have a fantastic weekend!
