Denne video viser, hvordan du kan strikke tommelfingeren uden at bruge en maskewire.
Sådan gør du:
1. Når du når til omgangen, hvor tommelfingerens masker normalt sættes på en maskewire, strikker du dem i stedet i en kontrasttråd, som senere skal fjernes.
2. Når alle tommelmaskerne er strikket i kontrasttråden, sætter du dem tilbage på venstre pind, som vist i videoen.
3. Strik nu alle tommelmaskerne med det rigtige garn og fortsæt med at strikke resten af vanten.
4. Herefter samler du maskerne op i rækken under og rækken over kontrastgarnet og trækker kontrastgarnet ud.
5. Strik tommelmaskerne i det rigtige garn og saml to masker op i hver side af strømpepindene. Strik den ene ret og den anden drejet ret.
6. Til sidst strikkes tommelfingeren rundt, som opskriften angiver.

This video shows you how to knit the thumb without using a stitch holder.
Here’s how to do it:
1. When you reach the round where you would normally place the thumb stitches on a stitch holder, instead knit them with a contrasting thread, which you’ll remove later.
2. Once all thumb stitches are knit in the contrasting thread, place them back on the left needle as shown in the video.
3. Now, knit all the thumb stitches with the main yarn and continue knitting the rest of the mitten.
4. Next, pick up the stitches from the row below and the row above the contrasting thread, then pull out the contrasting thread.
5. Knit the thumb stitches in the main yarn, and pick up two stitches on each side of the needles. Knit one stitch normally and the other twisted.
6. Finally, knit the thumb in the round as directed in the pattern.
