The carbon IS now ECE rated
So strange everyone says it's not ECE certified, it is, I can get it here in Europe, I wouldn't be able to get if it wasn't, mine has been tested in Germany,
Got this lid and it’s amazing. Took a while to get it but it’s was worth it. Light and comfortable.
I love the Carbon gloss looks and strength. The HJC is coming a long way by now. I think the 90S will be good for my cruiser.
I honestly think this guy doesn't know that the helmet's material is actually carbon fiber. Pretty sure he thinks it's a graphic 🤣🤣 Revzilla, you used to be awesome.
I know this is 2 years later but they have two models he says non carbon pro if you were listening
Weird. I bought this exact helmet except I'm in Canada. Its ECE rated. Love it. Virtually no complaints
This is good to know so did it ship with an ece cert sticker on it?
@@allanespiritu3 yup! It has an ece r 22.05 sticker.
Where did you buy it?
@@user-pt1jx2vn1y Fortnine
I have this helmet and it is both DOT and ECE certified. I bought it from a shop here in the UK, all helmets sold in the UK must meet ECE regulations.
That's awesome! Although the US inventory was only DOT as stated in the video and confirmed by HJC that it was not ECE rated for the DOT models.
I have the rpha 11. Bought the rpha 70 carbon. Thinking i should have ccx went went the rpha 11 carbon
Does he mean the new 2206 ece or the old one?
i love this helmet
Waiting for RPHA 1 review
HJC site description reads: "Built for the racetrack"......yet lacks the required certification for racetrack use. 🤔🤔🤔
Has the certs in Europe
I know this video is a bit older but I bought this helmet a week ago in germany and it has an ECE sticker. Maybe they got the rating afterwards
Sadly no, the EU version has the ECE sticker but the US-only version is still DOT for the carbon model.
Hi brothers! I am planning to order online the rpha 11 … my head shape is flat and straight.. and size is 56cm.. can you help me in deciding what size should i go for? According to hjc chart the size should be S for 55/56 cm. Is rpha11 sizing is true to size?
Factoring in the break-in period all helmets will have, you should go with the Small. After a couple rides the padding will break-in and will fit just fine. You want a helmet to be tight right out of the box so it is still safe to wear a few months down the road.
@@RevZilla thank you so much!
The Euro spec ECE weighs in at 2.7 pounds. It is not d.o.t rated but could pass if tested. I trust e.c.e more.
I have this helmet and mine is both DOT and ECE certified. Purchased here in the UK. 🇬🇧
In Netherlands it has ECE...so maybe it depends on the country. But then again, the clip is 2 years old...
There is a DOT specific helmet here in the US and an ECE specific model for the EU market. Two different helmets and shells though.
On September of this year I was stucked between this Carbon and the Venom 2. I ended up having the Carnage that just came out on July 2020 which is a newer variant compared to those two. Glad that I chose the Marvel version since it has ECE rating on it that the Carbon doesn't have. But the Carbon still looks dope though.
I think the carbon really as ECE but they didn't test it since the helmet is the same xD I got the batman version and I love it
Hasn’t this helmet been out for a while
The Carbon versions just launched after a few years of anticipation, but yes the RPHA 11 Pro base model has been out for a few years. - Pat
Have to agree that it's a huge miss not to have the ECE certification.
Maybe they don't want you covering up that beautiful carbon with sponsor stickers. 😉
Wouldn't the helmet cost more with that cert?? Maybe they are trying to stay within a price point.
@@Lex-Rex You're right, they are trying to stay within a price point. They are also, unfortunately, cutting off a potential market of the racers and those who really want the extra certification.
There really is a huge difference between DOT and ECE, Snell certifications.
@@bazonka1 Yep, but the majority of riders do not do track days let alone race. I rock Arai and Shoei, but most people have a hard time paying over 500 bucks for a helmet. Hell, most people walk away if a helmet costs over 4 hundred bucks. I have a friend that works at Performance Cycle of Colorado -- the largest privately owned motorcycle apparel shop in the state, and a lot of people are not willing to spend that much for a helmet. Their number one selling brand is Icon by a fat margin.
@@Lex-Rex I've got a Shoei myself and my racing days are well behind me. It still doesn't make sense to turn away potential customers. Besides, people shopping a carbon fiber helmet are probably not price shopping.
@@Lex-Rex Just for what its worth - adding ECE doesn't cost that much and the best example of that is the fact that all ICON helmets ship with DOT/ECE stickers in the US. - Pat
Agree with Brandon. Massive miss by HJC for not having the ECE rating on this. This would more than likely be my next helmet if they addressed that.
I ordered my Rpha 11 Carbon from Europe and got the ECE R0-22.05 stamp. No DOT sticker but Im okay with that.
@@gumbikeI purchased mine here in the UK and it’s both ECE and DOT certified. Only had it a year so I’m assuming they fixed it for the more recent models?
@@jfoz7602 Hmm, Im not sure but that’s great if so
I still don't understand why HJC does not make the RPHA 01R available to the public
They can't price it right
@@pravesh736 It would go against the image of them being a budget brand, but some would be willing to shell out for it. Considering I own an RHPA 11 and a Corsair X, I could probably be temped into buying one.
@@dglesterhardunkichud7860 RPHA 1N will be released soon to the public.
@@kzoomin I saw that. So excited to check it out
Is this helmet just as loud as the rpha11 pro?
Aero/ventilation does not change with the Carbon version, so it will be around the same amount of noise levels. FWIW, a set of ear plugs will make even the loudest helmets quiet if you are looking for a real solution. $10 for a large pack at any pharmacy or we have a few options on our site as well.
@@RevZilla thx but I’ve tried 3m, sure fire and 2 types of Amazon ear plugs. I can feel the earplugs and it bothers me. And I just don’t like the idea of having to wear them now because I never needed earplugs on my old arai or any of my shoei helmets. I’m now sticking this giant windscreen on my k5 1000, regrets
@@GIZZMOTORSPORTSriding without plugs is just incredibly dumb, good luck with your tinnitus
RPHA 11 Pro Max. Hehe.
Can someone help. Where is Anthony?
Anthony is still part of the company's management, but no longer shoots video reviews. -Pat
@@patrickmchugh8039 thank you. I appreciate it.
It’s ECE certified, lol your wrong
.....you're not Anthony.
I need any kind of helmet but cant afford
agv k1. solid helmet for about 190$
Bell qualifier. Good basic helmet for 120
HJC i10
if i were you i'd go with either bell or agv cuz with my experiance they fit the best and are most comfortable for all round use. K1 is specially made for track and the qualifier is an allround :)
Okey bye. Where is Ari Henning?
Ari doesn't do product reviews.
No full carbon helmet should be certified. Carbon looks great, may be lighter, but hit resistance is close to zero.
Evidence?
@@redeyedfreaks There isn't any evidence, that's why Carbon versions of helmets pass the same safety ratings as other construcitons/composites. Also why F1 drivers use Carbon Fiber helmets for the most part, MotoGP too. - Pat
Even tho it’s doesn’t have the ECE certification it would more than likely pass it, at already $580 I’m sure they tried too keep it on cheaper side, having that certification would’ve just made it more expensive
We error on the side of not making assumptions. Having the sticker / label for ECE means it passed. Without it, we don't make assumptions on safety.
