Yet another straightforward mission with a seemingly simplistic goal: Destroy the Tiger Ace. This mission can be completed very quickly (20 minutes for me) under the right circumstances, but with the medal as well it drags itself out for reasons I’ll explain shortly. To beat the Tiger Ace you need to know how his AI operates. First, the Ace will come after your base if you sit around and do nothing for too long. Second, if you push into Axis territory he will come to its defense. Third, every time the Tiger Ace approaches he will always be supported by Ostwinds, Panzer IVs, infantry equipped with Panzerschrecks, and/or SS squads. Fourth, during every engagement the Tiger Ace will deploy smoke and retreat after taking enough damage. As tempting as it might be, do not pursue him. You’ll run into all sorts of ambushes and defenses along the way that will turn your temporary victory into a self-inflicted massacre. The Tiger Ace does not repair at any point in the mission and will stop coming after your forces once enough damage is inflicted (I believe 25% health is the threshold for this). The Tiger Ace can easily wipe out your entire force if you aren’t prepared for him. So focus and pay attention when the game alerts you that he’s on the move. You’ll need a unit to absorb the punishing blows it can deliver. That’s what your Pershing is for. While it can’t evenly trade shots with the Ace, it can last far longer than any other Allied unit in the game. The Tiger Ace’s maximum firing range exceeds the Pershing’s so you’ll have to move up closer so they can engage while your supporting units can help dish out some damage of their own with minimal risk of being one-shot by the Ace. With the M26 Pershing tank it’s natural for one to get cocky and push hard into the enemy lines given its firepower. Do not do this without the proper support. While it packs a mean punch and can take a decent amount of punishment, this tank is slow moving and vulnerable to flanks. Rear shots from Panzer IVs and Panzerschrecks will tear it apart if you don’t pay attention. Not to mention you want it fully repaired before it can re-engage with the Ace. With a near-full base built for you and decent starting resources, you have several ways to handle this mission. Main focus for now is securing territory for a steady income of fuel and munitions. I prefer the right hand side due to the flanks of opportunity and lack of enemy mortar crews. Capture the Pak 38 gun with one of your riflemen after dispatching the infantry in the area. The Tiger Ace will show up with support as mentioned before, but with your Pershing supported by that recently captured AT gun and a Sherman tank you can hold him off. If your Pershing was damaged or isn’t surviving these engagements just have your engineers repair it in the midst of battle. Once the first two points on the right are captured move up to the next munition point with stone ruins. After capturing it and pushing the Ace back several more times this is when you want to head to the left side of the map to flank all the defenses pointing down towards we’re you’d normally approach them. This makes it very easy to wipe out the defenses and gives you even more resource income you’ll want for upgrades/ability use. Now that you own over half the map it’s time to pick a side to push up on if you want the medal. If not, just advance up the center of the map and finish the Ace off to secure your hard earned victory. Otherwise… despite taking out numerous vehicles by now you’ll only have at most 20/30 necessary kills. There will be a few tanks up near the forward HQs, but still not enough. There will, however, be plenty of half-tracks that keep spawning and trying to escape that you can destroy to farm the remaining kills needed. With that in mind, you still need to clear out the heavy defenses that will have MG42s, Snipers, mortars, Pak guns, and infantry equipped with Panzerschrecks. My advice to soften up this obstacle is to use a camouflaged sniper (vet 3 preferably) to spot for your artillery or airstrikes depending if you went with infantry doctrine or airborne doctrine. If you went with the armor doctrine I suppose you could use the Calliope… but it honestly doesn’t put out enough damage (on expert mode) and accuracy is limited if you want it in a safe firing range. Overall, it’s a good mission and entirely manageable if you play it smart. Just remember these tips and you’ll do just fine out there. Enjoy!
That was a stellar example of how to beat the unbeatable. Pretty cool to see how fast you react when the Ace is on the move and able to stand your ground with minimal losses.

Yeah, I would’ve restarted the mission on the spot. A tank that tough can easily be kept alive if properly managed. Even on expert. Hope you enjoyed the episode despite the wait.
@@thedarkprince7379 the M10 is more ideal in terms of damage. It also receives a damage bonus against most Axis vehicles. However, it’s weaker armor means more repairs and wouldn’t last beyond 2 shots from the Tiger Ace. Not to mention it would be useless for taking out infantry. The Sherman was just more reliable for me.
