Incredible MANCHESTER pUnK band! Fans all over the world turn out to hear this LP played live! Only two original members now in the band ( supported by a first class rhythm section) But I was extremely lucky to see the original line up reform for a handful of gigs four years ago, courtesy of Moz Maurice Murray, (who grew up with the original members) Fans of Bowie also turn out as Mick Ronson contributed to tracks on this LP! dx
This band has it all (they're still around) riffs, bass, an original sound etc. Amazing to think the guitarist did all these solos and riffs, whilst still a teenager, or thera outs!
Just a couple of years after this came out, pal of mine bought Do It Dog Style and we played it to death, quality. I left his gaff one night on my bike, got knocked off and the car sped off with some lads gobbing off. "I know that car", I thought, it was my elder brother who had left home the twat! Anyway, when I hear this band , always think of then but either way, wonderful stuff. Seen 'em a few times since, brilliant.
Funny thing is as great as this is today, the next generation will say there is nothing better than what's around now. Remember your parents saying how much this sucked and there was no comparison to the 50's
One of their best songs IMO. Given Slaughter/Dogs love of the NY Dolls/VU/Lou Reed, in the 70’s I assumed they were referring to Boston, Massachusetts, but maybe it was Boston, Lincolnshire after all. Anyone know?
What timeless energy. Let's overthrow the evil governments... NOW... and start again... It'll only take 5 minutes if we do it while listening to this track
Somewhere, I've got my band Born Idle doing this with Mad Muffet (Brian) on the drums. Great band (them, not us!) who should've been massive. To Skum76. Morrisey did audition with Slaughter in 1980 but they fucked him off!
One of very first 77 style punker tunes in my brain soundtrack
