Note about the putting: If you use an overhead monitor with a wider hitting area you could putt outside of the hitting strip. For example protee is 21 inchs wide hitting area.
I like the break down of your sim setup and helping everyone enjoy indoor golf at home. What screen do you have and how has it held up since you've had it?
@@Griswald2000 thank you for the comment! I’ll look to do a video on impact screen soon. I have Premium impact screen from Shop Indoor golf and it has held up really well over the 1st year of use. Has typical burn/rough marks from high spinning wedges but stretch and impact-wise has held up really well.
Thank you for the informative video! I bought the SigPro Softy and love how soft it feels when hitting off the mat. However, I’ve noticed a major issue with mine-it produces a fine green dust on impact. After just a few hits, my clubs get covered in this dust, and it spreads throughout my simulator room. It’s even affecting the air quality, as I find myself coughing during practice. Have you experienced any similar issues with your mat?
So I do get fine dust on sticking to a club after repeated use or shots and will clean. However because my room is finished and the kids track in dirt often I vacuum my mat, hitting strip, and turf weekly. I haven’t experienced issues with the dust created by striking the mat but it could be just the vacuuming that keeps it from accumulating to the point where it goes in to the air. May also be something I’m not as sensitive to. Great comment and question. Thank you for watching!
Did you take those measurements and create that graphic yourself? Can’t find that info anywhere from IGS. I’m concerned about the space from GC3 to hitting strip in the 4x7…18” will work, but all the pictures look like it’s centered in that mat segment, so about 12” to the edge. Thanks for a great review!!
For the 4’x7’ SigPro Softy These measurements are taken by me and spot on at 01:10 mark in video. They didn’t have the info on their website when I needed it so I decided to measure and added it to this video. I know from experience the GC3 has enough space to be used with it and measure again just now to confirm 18”.
Holding up really well. I believe they glue Grasstex money putt turf to top of the Eva foam but that’s not confirmed officially. I have zero complaints and see the stance matt lasting for years.
I've had mine for about month and have created noticeable foot impressions. Been starting to vary where I stand now. Not sure if others have had this happen or it only compresses to a point?
@ I would reach out to them about it. I don’t wear golf shoes in the sim or spikes rather, but I’ve had mine for 14 months and it hardly shows any wear or tear. I’m on my 2nd hitting strip in that same time. Assuming you’re talking about the stance mat. The rest of the turf in my room is money put turf and It is also holding up really well. Again, I’m really sorry to hear this, I would reach out to indoor golf shop
Did you buy from indoor golf shop? I’d love it if you could email me some pics. You can see mine on stream and I haven’t had any wear and tear. Bothers me to hear that it’s been dud for you. Do you wear golf spikes? Is it the turf or the foam breaking down? Definitely need to reach out to the seller and figure out what the issue is, maybe even get a replacement. I’ll fight for you. trpl.bgy@gmail.com
I had issues too. Found that more carry distance to screen helped. And being sure that monitor base was same level as mat. I think another issue was my follow through blocked the view of the ball and the longer carry of ten feet helped.
Do you have a slow motion video of impact with iron on a fat shot. I've heard that on fat shots the hitting strip will compress and the ball will stay at its height creating a gap between the ball and the turf resulting in the ball striking higher on the face of the club.
@@brygask I could make one and see. Have me curious now! I’ll have one up on the channel before Sunday. Maybe sooner. 🙂. I can say fat shots feel fat and the numbers show up low as if it were chunky. Is this for all hitting strips or for the divot action strips you are hearing this on?
@@trpl_bgy I haven't seen/heard anything about this happening to the sigpro softy, just DIY strips that are made with the same concept as the sigpro softy. Came across all of this doing research to make my own version of sigpro softy, hesitating now on DIY and cant find if the sigpro softy has this same issue. A slow motion video of the sigpro softy with fat iron shots would be very helpful. thank you for your time!
Keep up the great content man.

I’ve got to get a ProTee!!
@ that makes two of us

Gets into the lungs and likely causes cancer.
Yikes.
Need to play with a mask i guess.
Did you find other mats you tried did NOT produce fine green dust?
I'll keep looking for alternatives now that you mentioned this!
Thanks

Perfect! Thanks for the lightning quick response!
Nice video, just to confirm is this the original sig pro softy or the new light one of thinner version?
@@cappy69uk Great Question. This is the Original SigPro Softy 4 x 7. It’s 2 3/8” thick in total.
How has the stance area holding up? I have turf under my feet and now it's pretty well worn down. Curious how well that SS turf is working.

Well I've since gotten one and am pretty disappointed in how it wears down where you stand. Guess I need to get a mat (like Michael Breeden).

Love it. Great idea. Curious to know myself. 🙂
How does it handle fat shots? Hopefully it penalizes them some?
Can you feel the seam between the two pieces?
Not at all. The hitting strip edge could be felt. But seem between 2 pieces on stance mat is nearly invisible
Great video.
Thanks!
