Yes. That's 70's design for ya. Even the ones on upper decks, but especially some of the secondary stairs in the decks below the car deck. Even still, more people got out from there.
Joonas Vähämäki i think those secondary stairs were the cause on some of the cloging, people got cramped on the stairgurds, i think that the main problem coming from those stairs, was to get out of the ship, through those wide hallways

some of the stairs were in a really steep angle. i can only imagine, what was it like to climb those in a 30 or 45 degree list
