The difference between MV Wilhelm Gustloff and M/S Estonia is that the reason for M/V Wilhelm Gustloff has a simple explanation.

42:45, ok what the heck are these numbers? 852 died not over 900...the numbers of nationalities also dont add up, there werent even 375 Estonians onboard, but 347 total (of which 62 survived). I know mistakes can happen when making documentaries but thats one big mistake which is quite strange if you ask me...
The boat had no reliable passenger list so the amount of passengers is not fully established. The number you're referring to was published in 1996, two years after this documentary, but even today it's unclear and 2014 an investigation was made which quoted 921 deaths with 1058 passengers when comparing the national criminal police's ID commission list with the official memorial. The Swedish Wikipedia article has a long section about the back and forths regarding number of passengers.
