- We needed a Friday/Saturday near Tampa... everything was booked. We chose Lake Kissimmee State Park just to fill in until we could get to our next big destination. It turned out TO BE THE NEXT BIG DESTINATION! We had a blast. So much wildlife and beauty.

Those foil packets were our favorite meals camping years ago. Have you ever tried just throwing whole Idaho potatoes right into the fire? They will look like a big charcoal briquet when they’re done, and taste like heaven when you crack them open. Kissimmee is such a beautiful, peaceful park. The Report Card is great and will definitely be a big help to others who might be interested in traveling to parks you’ve been to. Safe travels, stay well and hugs for sweet Maggie.
Yes, we have put potatoes on the fire but we’ll have to do it again soon. They are really good. Thanks for the reminder.
We always called them hobo meals(the foil packets), so yummy and easy.
That’s what we called them in Ohio.
I have heard them called hobo meals but it had slip my mind. We love making them, there are so many great variations.

I felt bad for Maggie too. All those critters were driving her crazy. But it was fun to watch.
Make sure you keep an eye out for Eastern Diamond Back Rattlesnakes. Every thanksgiving we stay there with a group of friends. There's always at least 1 sighting, sometimes right in the campground and the rangers have to remove it.

That was so cute Maggie seeing the deer and the armadillo. Nice seeing those people you ran into camping with you. They have a cute dog. Dogs sure do love filling around in the dirt. That meal looked good too. You both are great cooks.

I wish Maggie would do a lot less fooling around in the dirt… she gets so dirty and carries it with her in the van. O well she’s just a dog.

Love the new rating system you guys have created. One of the amenities that we rate highly is bathroom cleanliness, how hot the shower get as well as the water pressure. Keep up the great work, guys!

This was the park we did our shake down trip after purchasing our RV, only 1.5 from us and it's a whole different world. We love this campground and been back and will again.

What can I say? In these crazy times you guys are a great escape. My dad lives in Kissimmee but not close enough to the park for us to warrant staying there instead of his place. Once we're at his house we rarely go anywhere because the traffic is so bad. He's got a pool and lake so it's very relaxing. One day we're going to tackle this list of Florida State Parks you've recommended but until then we love getting out on the weekends and enjoying nature like you two. So true, that is one of the most beautiful parks, of the many. Agree with your report card of KSP. It is a bit away from the city, but that way you get to see more wildlife. Maggie sure liked that. Nice the subs met yall. Careful of rattlers, and ticks. Gator mating season end of April, sometimes a lil later. They can get aggressive. Wekiwa Springs, Blue Springs, Silver Springs, Johnathan Dickinson, Manatee Springs, Myakka, and Torreya are very nice. Really, you can't lose, lol. Enjoyed 🙂👍

We stayed here also and your rating is right on. If Verizon had better coverage here it would be a lot better. We liked how private the site we were on was (24). The bathrooms are in the middle and the sites are around them. We would go back too!

Armadillos!! I've been wanting to see an armadillo in nature (and a flamingo) but they have alluded me so far. Maggie seemed to love Lake Kissimmee, too. Was this park very pet friendly? Thanks for sharing such a beautiful episode. Peace & Prayers.
Yes, the park was dog friendly. We took Maggie everywhere we went with the exception of the water and we could have taken her there we were just being cautious.
Looks like we found our check out run for Sherman the Roadtrek. Ask Maggie if she wants to join us. You are a gifted photographer and the music was perfect thank you for finding this state park and showing it to us. Looks like a good place for a Van Trekking lifestyle meet up. We wanted to. Only open on weekends now. We had to leave to head over to our meet up. But we've been before and loved it.
Well done Mother Nature. So true, love those moments. Looks like a perfect lake for those Oru Kayaks. Will have to add this park to our list. Have you tried Clearwater Lake Recreation Area, It's in Paisley, Fl. (Ocal Forest) One of my favorites. No hookups, bath house is nice, friendly staff. Not close to much, VZ cell signal -1 bar, but the walk around the lake (2 miles), the Sandhill Cranes calling in the morning, and a nice mountain bike trail at the entrance, it is a sweet place, The mountain bike trail is doable on your fat tire ebikes. You can do 10 or 20 miles. I was self-propelled and was quite happy with the 10 miles , actually exhausted. LOL A camper next to me, not nearly as fit as you two, did it on his ebike in about and 70 minutes. Ebikes help alot. Your National Park Pass gets you a nice discount here as well. Forget weekends, but Sunday thru Wednesdays, check it out. Specia place,

All that wildlife is driving Maggie crazy! So neat that you get to meet your subscribers when you travel! Their chihuahua was too cute! I lost my sweet chihuahua two weeks ago. I'm lost without her! Daisy was almost 18. So grateful for the time I had with her! Was hoping she would make it until I bought a van and started traveling, but it wasn't meant to be!
So sorry to hear about your Daisy, I totally understand you feeling lost. You have a great attitude being grateful for your time with her, 18 years is a long time and I’m sure she had a great life.

We had that same site in December, loved it. But did not like the 4ft rattlesnake that crossed the open part at the rear.

Agree with you a 100% on Kissimmee State Park been going there for years live about 20 minutes away kept boat at Camp Mack, next time your in area try and airboat trip from Camp Lester just around the corner, good people there Leo owns it. Though I’d run across you guys one of these winters keep being just behind or ahead of you it seems. Have fun on your travels in Fl… P.S. Try staying on some of the BLM lands here in Fl. as well, not as crowded as state parks on weekdays if you want some quite time.

Another great video well produced and useful info as always. Your aluminum foil dinner took me back to my Scoutmaster days teaching boy scouts how to make those - one of their favorites. One question I have when you get out in the bayous in those paper this kayaks is what is Plan B when you come face to face with a Gator?
We just took the kayaks out on the Mayaka river and saw 42 gators. We just kept on paddling. They do really bother you if you don’t bother them. So far we have not had any problems.
