Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. If a Pokémon faints, then it must be permanently boxed.
2. I can only catch the first encounter on each Route.
3. No bag items in battle, except for pokéballs. (Held items are allowed)
4. Must be played on "Set" battle mode.
5. Cannot level over the next gym leader/elite 4's highest level pokémon.

The audio is a little quiet during editing since the game audio is faint. I've tried to fix it in editing, but turn up your volumes!
The thing about this game being originally from 2011 is that there likely wasn't enough knowledge of how to modify trainer AI at the time for Dray to make any major changes to it. Pretty sure the AI in anything above a single battle is purely random (which is why there's a lot of "Wait, why is it doing that" actions against gym leaders and the E4), compared to Renegade Platinum or the Redux games which have much more advanced - but consistent - AI.

40 minutes of greatness! This makes me want to nuzlocke this game again. Might try a 1 death = reset. It’s on the easier side of rom hacks for sure but Ren Plat, Sacred Gold/Storm Silver, and Fire Red Omega are more suitable for beginners imo.

That's such an ignorant way of thinking. That's what difficulty hacks are for, making you think before mindlessly jumping into a battle with your overleveled starter and your HM mules. That's why this game is a good for begginers; you only have to change your teams to a degree, the battles aren't impssible if you use any pokemon you want; they're just hard.
Besides, there are countless hacks and fangames that focus on story, exploring etc. instead of battling. It's not like you're forced to watch or play exclusively battle focused ROMS/fangames.
The easiest Gen 5 ROM Hack ever? Try telling that to an idiot like me who couldn't beat this game for several months, and will never catch up with Super Hardest New ROM Hack 12 Billion in a hundred years...

bro same, i started in january and kept choosing unorthodox rules and methods to beat the game, i actually got pretty far one time but felt like i didn't deserve cause i accidentally didn't name one of my pokemon and had to do it in pkhex, the guilt eventually overcame for not abiding by the "nuzlocke rules" i just resetted lmao this shi unhealthy

@@trilbymctip4386 sacred gold I’d say is easier to navigate and also quality of life changes I’d say it’s probably the best rom to start when entering the hardcore nuzlocke rom hacks

If I'm not wrong I think it's because on this rom hack it's kinda random (correct me if I'm wrong please) is not like the normal games or other rom hacks when you can predict which move your opponets will use, so I guess he can't really predict with Wobbuffet if using Counter, Mirror Coat, etc. I mean he could use the Wobbuffet but it could be risky (Again correct me if I'm wrong please)
Basically the AI in Blaze Black is wack. Most evident in rotation and triple battles from what I remember.

The pc is just a script, but I think there is ar code to toggle it with start but i doubt it works with a modded rom

After I beat renegade plat HC nuzlocke, I tried both blaze black and blaze black 2 and it was really fun to beat. Made me enjoy gen 5 much more. I remember being in a “Lenora simulator” cause I couldn’t beat for for a while lmao
Hey I'm new to rom hacks and I noticed my pignite is still a fire fighting. Do I have the wrong version? Do I have to start all over with a new version?
A lot of pokemon have had changes like Emboar being fire/ground and ampharos being electric/dragon in (if i recall correctly) 3.1, I don't think there's much documentation online for that version. Most of the documentation online seems to be for 3.0, since i think 3.1 came out recently. I think downloading 3.1 would probably corrupt your save due to some changes, so do what you want with that information.

How can I check the npc trainer mon natures/ivs in this romhack? Klay's krookodile outsped my starmie once which left me confused with a dead starmie

You’ll need an nds emulator they’re available on most devices now anyway one just released on the App Store on iPhone

I might be being dumb here but at 2:54don't you need to kill one to catch the other. And he is already at the level cap, so how does he catch it?

he kills one and you don't get xp by catching pokemon in gen 5 so don't worry about the level cap

If you were wondering why the AI was being weird at times, in Blaze Black all double and triple battles have Basic AI instead of Expert. Meaning they will check for immunities but not anything else, so they just click moves at random
Hot take: Random AI is worse than Hard AI

The thing about these rom hacks is I would rather play the original game… doesn’t really feel like they changed much in this
W vid. You should consider doing a hard randomizer, I just played black randomised and it was very engaging
