Definitely one of the best songs of all medival on youtube i heard! Also i see a kind of similarity to today folk music in south balkan. But this sounds have additionally a mystical touch.🙂
Another example of how music is used to manipulate history, but despite current mainstream narratives, there were no aragon no castile kingdoms even less any spanish language as we know today.
I could not understand anything as I did not know the language which I presume was Italian. But is it necessary that understanding the language is needed for proper enjoyment of the music. I don't agree with this school of thought. In my opinion even without the basic knowledge of the language I can enjoy the music on par with the native speaker. Needless to say that I enjoyed it thoroughly! And the experience was something like as tasty as having a traditional Kerala feast served on plantain /banana leaves eaten with bare hands. The taste of boiled rice and the usual accompaniment of several curries will be such that you will be tempted to lick (maybe similar to the '40 licks' of one of my favorite rockers - Mick Jagger & Co) all the five of your fingers, as part and parcel of the feast! Bon appetite! You seem to be a lonely traveler because, generally, from whom only this kind of magic is expected, contrastingly magic here was in the form of "tasty" music!
Mmmm, no. It is exactly the opposite. This is profane and troubadour music. There are some songs, however, that have been found inside the abbey of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, for example Ara Lausetz - min 1:01:25 -but lyrics its about of an orgy between friars so... Wonderful music. Anyway, comparing Serrat to Dylan is a little unfair. Dylan is key in our culture, he was awarded the Literature Nobel Prize and his music has influenced (and still does) generations of musicians.
Personally I'm a musician, I don't like Dylan and I feel more influenced by Serrat than Dylan! Jokes a part, this is what Charles Magraner wrote in his booklet.
@@MusicaMedievale Thank you for your answer. But still, Dylan is Dylan and The Byrds, The Band, Hendrix, The Beatles, Donovan, Rolling Stones, The Who...and many, many other musicians would have not been the same without him. And what a great poet he is!
These period illustrations are beautiful .
You are right!

Serrat is not a musician, is a non grata person in Catalonia
Why are they fighting at dinner?
Why not?
