BRAH!!!!! You saved me all kinds of headaches! Another video was having you take the panel off the inside of the door and taking the whole thing off. Your video helped me not only change this blinker light but the mirror as well since both got creamed. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for this video. I had to change the heated mirror portion on the passengers side and this video helped me to figure out how to take off the cover and remove and replace the heated mirror. Your mirrors looks great when you were done.
Very helpful video and clear cut instructions. Just replaced my VW Jetta 2009 passenger side side rear view mirror. Just a note; you will need a Torx 10 screwdriver to remove the screws. Preferably a long one; in that case you wont have to dismantle the mirror rotating motor.
Plastic or not, paint does not like to stick to glossy smooth surfaces. But if the paint is already very dead and rough, I suppose you could just wipe it with cleaning solvent.
Ahhh, so the covers DO , just pull up and off. Thanks for taking the time... I am about to do my daughters mirrors...this kid hits EVEYTHING with them!!! 🤣
Lights and your Jetta looking good man, I'm about to replace my mirror lights and side indicators with smoked out ones on my '08 MK5.. Quick question though, which screwdriver bit did you use for the screws inside the side mirrors?
Quick question: My left side mirror turn signal went out, and I figured while replacing the bulb I'd replace the housing too, so I ordered the blacked out plastic piece. Based on watching videos, it seems like that plastic parts come with a bulb in them. Is that the case? And if not where can I get the bulb? Thanks!
Are your door switches working? I believe the mirror light is driven by the door module. The dealer replaced my door module under some recall but did not code the new one correctly and it did not know that the mirror light was installed. I found this out after replacing it and it still didn't work. I got a VAG-COM cable and figured out that the door module wasnt coded correctly. Ones I programmed it, works great.

+Robert Lenane Thanks Robert I'm glad I was able to help you!
Great video. For long term adhesion, I suggest sanding with super fine paper and wiping with denatured alcohol before painting anything like that.

Where do I order the bulb? I’m having trouble finding it
