    Great deck and super thoughtful analysis. Really nice to see you explain some of the cards being cut despite many builds running them. Definitely subscribing and watching more :D

    This is great man. I ran into the same issues you did building it, seeing folks submitting decks and giving people bad ideas of what cards really make Megatron tick. Kudos.

    One deck tech i recommend with Megatron is Forbidden Orchard. Gives out 1/1 tokens to your opponents to blast for maximum efficiency while also mana fixing.

      I've heard a few people using that tech, and while I really like the upside of perfect mana fixing and a guaranteed target, I feel really bad giving my opponents resources like that. I would prefer to give them 1/1s by removing their things a la Stroke of Midnight or Contraband Livestock rather than doing it for tapping my lands for mana since I'm doing that every turn.

    I also think ornithopter of paradise would work in here. It fixes our mana and can be thrown at megatron. Its a really great underapreciated mana dork that fixes mana

    I was wondering if you considered any of the newer cards to include. I really enjoy megatron as a commander and how you can take him in so many different ways. Loved your video btw.

    How about big tutor spells like Diabolic Revelation? If you don't have a finisher you can search for perfect hand using mana generated from megatron to win on your next turn. I'm also think that Ugin's Nexus should be here to swing with army of created tokens without waiting for our next turn.

    Ive been playing megatron for a little while now. Megatron is almost always on his back side for me and is transformed on his front only on attack and flipped immediately every time for me. The living metal part on the back is actually relevant for protection. Had so many comments how they cant remove him when they need to because he's not a creature.
    Etched familiar is a very good include in the deck when ive been playing too. Provides the spread damage he wants very well. Also agree strongly with the cuts mentioned in the beginning. They dont add anything to the game.

      For the purposes of these deck, I cannot imagine a game lasting so long that spine of ish sah can win. That's just not realistic in any meta I've ever been a part of.

    I’d love to see this in action. You have 6 X mana finisher, with 3 of them making unhasted tokens, and no tutors. Is that really enough to close out games turn 6-8?

      I've been tempted to try it, but I'm hesitant and don't want to pick it up at that price if I'm hesitating. If you've got a copy then absolutely try it out though!

    Could you make a deck focused on a titan/colossus playstyle? My biggest issue Im running into is a lack of recursion and getting card draw

    Nice commander to build. I was interesting on build it but i already have a lot of decks on building process so it will some day could be the day.
    We have so much products, its hard to focus on all the bew cards per set.
    Your video reminds me that i need to get Megatron annd Optimus before they gonna up in prices.

    A question about the deck, why you remove Twilight Prophet, Kessig, Creeping and Brimstone Trebuchet? I already build the deck, very fun and very epic way to win the game. Always looking forward for ways to improve the deck.

    • @aegisgamingofficial2178
      @aegisgamingofficial2178  Рік тому +1

      Right now I'm in the process of rebuilding it. Brimstone Trebuchet left because there were better options competing for a slot (for example the new trebuchet from WOE is already better, but there are even more options). Twilight Prophet is good but a little too slow, so I think I swapped ot out for Wrenn's Resolve, and Creeping Bloodsucker for Nezumi Prowler

    Hey! its me again. after watching this video; this deck looks awesome. I am definitely going to build this one. But again I have a couple of things to say and a questions lol.
    1: Is the purpose of running Imotekh solely for pumping Megatron and giving him menace? b/c I don't think there's enough graveyard-artifact recursion to make the first ability useful, and even if we were running it making 2/2s tokens doesn't really do much for the strategy here.
    2: Just a couple cards i would reccomend. It's always nice to run a couple tutors, especially since we are in black, so maybe a couple wouldn't hurt. I also think lapse of certainty would be a fun include, its a white counterspell and it can definitely have it's uses since we are not in blue or any colors that really have counters. Finally, i would like to suggest Rakdos, Lord of Riots, which discounts cards for 1 generic mana for each 1 life our opponents have lose this turn. This works great with our commander and is exactly what we want to be doing, and is a good contingency plan to continue our plan if our commander is removed.
    Just some thoughts, great video again, and I'm looking forward to playing this!

    • @aegisgamingofficial2178
      @aegisgamingofficial2178  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching! I love getting to talk about these decks more, and Megatron in particular is one of my favorites.
      - Right now, Imotekh is filling a slot that I'm experimenting with for the deck. Some of the stuff that got left on the editing floor for this one is how Megatron interacts with artifact creatures specifically (or artifacts that generate creatures, *hint hint.* ) I've also determined that the best mana cost for a sacrificed artifact is between 2-4 mana, so any artifact creature (or artifact making a creature) at those mana values that has an additional ETB or LTB effect could occupy that slot for me, but right now it's Imotekh (I'm *loving* Eriette's Tempting Apple for this too though)
      - Another slot I'm experimenting with now are flicker effects for artifacts. Sadly I think there are only like, two that I like for this, but they can protect Megatron and get him transformed at the same time which is genius. Between that and the other protection spells, I'm skeptical about Reprieve and Lapse of Certainty (though I acknowledge they're much more flexible than mere protection). These are all just things I'm testing for the deck though, when it's finished I'll probably do an update to this video and let everyone know how it went!
      - But for Rakdos, I think that'd be a really awkward play, no? 4 mana means I have to choose between playing this or playing Megatron the first chance I get. I could also be playing an artifact to set up for Megatron. After Megatron comes down, I'm spending my colored mana on haymakers, and that's the only kind of mana that Rakdos accepts- what's more, the spells that I actually want discounted in this deck (the big Haymakers) in this build aren't creatures, so the spells that most need this discount aren't actually getting it. Whereas with Neheb, I can use that mana for anything, and he's a little easier to cast if I have spare mana from Megatron before I'm ready to close out the game. That said, I know there are other Megatron builds that run more titan/colossus artifact creatures that this would be perfect for! This should still be way higher up the EDHREC chain than it is.

      @aegisgamingofficial2178 awesome! Thanks again. If I'm looking to build this do you think I should go ahead and build it now or wait until your updated video on it?

    • @aegisgamingofficial2178
      @aegisgamingofficial2178  Рік тому +1

      @@penguinsociety704 Totally up to you. If you just can't wait to get your hands on it and get some games in to see how it plays, then go for it- I know that's valuable experience. But if you'd rather wait to see these slots worked out I know that's valuable too. I'll say that if you're waiting, it'll probably be a month or so. I'm only remastering the old videos in between the new ones "on my own time," and new set releases demand a lot of attention 😅

      It's actually in my private version of the deck! It's a *little* clunky for the public version of the deck, but the power level of my playgroup is forgiving enough that I can get away with it more often than not.

    • @ToasterInABathtub-ub5cm
      @ToasterInABathtub-ub5cm Рік тому

      @aegisgamingofficial2178 shouldn't there be a few more artifacts to sac too? There's only 5ish in the deck that you'd want to sac bc they're not mana or card draw and maybe a couple more artifact creatures. Especially if you want to flip Megatron at the end of your turn to make him harder to remove and flip him back at your next turn

    • @aegisgamingofficial2178
      @aegisgamingofficial2178  Рік тому +1

      @@ToasterInABathtub-ub5cm Not especially, no. It's not an artifact deck. The artifacts are not the objective- the haymaker is. *All* of the artifacts- including the ones for mana and card draw- are treated as disposable. I sacrifice signets and The One Ring (in a pricer build) all the time to flip him. Artifacts only exist in the deck at all to flip Megatron over, and if you're not sinking the mana you get into a haymaker, then there wasn't much point to the sacrifice, so you *don't sacrifice anything until you're ready to throw the haymaker.* An exception is made for a couple of splashier artifacts like Steel Hellkite because that can help reset the status quo when we're behind. The mana and card draw artifacts help you get by until you're ready to seal the deal, but what you really need to do is spend your resources finding a haymaker to close things out.
