The set should be setup to conform to your bodies natural motion. If you do a circle with your arm from the elbow or shoulder, your cymbals and drums should be in a place where your arm will naturally want to go.

Bobby started as a righty and taught himself open handed so that he didn't have to do cross overs when being musical, as in adding toms during beats. The craziest part tho, he splits his double bass drumming so that his right foot does say, 1 and, the left foot does, e ah. He will even start beats on his left foot to keep this pattern going 🤯

  • @biorythmicshifter

Besides being brothers and having a psychic connection they both read music. Bobby will chart everything out so it matches perfectly with the instrumentation. I remember when I heard Spastic Ink back in the 90’s it wrecked my brain. I never heard music the same again…

He actually uses the cymbals behind his head for convenience/time efficiency. Meaning, you literally come from the snare/hi-hat/crash/ride/whatever and hit the cymbal behind with full power and you can go straight down to the next hit, it's both ways like an exaggerated way of lifting the arm to execute.
