Hearing Falcon tell off Andreas for his selfishness and deception makes me wonder how he came to be Sir Handel! How did he go from lecturing Andreas about looking after his passengers to purposely derailing himself and destroying his firebars? I know Andreas is the main focus here, but Sir Handel's seemingly inverted character arc is a big point of intrigue.
I think I have a theory about the firebars. If what we saw in Duncan Gets Spooked is true, something must have happened to the SkR's original number 7. Maybe that traumatised Sir Handel and he couldn't tell Peter Sam about it when he returned from the Taylynn Railway. It's a bit of a sketchy guess, but still.
I quite liked this one too. Seeing Falcon showing his wisdom for once, and just seeing Gutrude and Millicent talk to him (Nice touch there, being Ex MSR coaches). Lily making another appearance was nice, being that sisterly figure she is, and Andreas turned into a boat!? Ok then. Also, I can't wait to hear about Atlas and this tramway.
+TobyandMavisforever Seeing this into parts was a very cliffhanging experience for this episode and the last. Who knew that Atlas was sold off to another railway that was a tramway. I'm hoping to know by next week if that will be the next story to be told about. I like to know who these tramway engines, other than Atlas, are and their base.
I have a lot of things to say hehe. First off, what an amazing episode. I really loved how Lily tried to talk to Andreas. He never saw sense and he was turned into a boat. It'll serve him right! I also loved the part when Falcon confronted Andreas about his pompousness. He REALLY thought he could get away with it, right? Well he thought wrong! And I really want to find out about this tramway. This show keeps getting better and better. Keep up the great work, Dan!!!!
words can't describe how much I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing idea, great writing, great everything! I was dying for this episode after watching the first part, cause I just loved it so much! It's just so well made
The comparisons of Andreas to Duncan I'm seeing in the comments are very interesting and got me thinking about their similarities and differences. Fair warning, I'm thinking as I write. Andreas was a selfish, elitist snob. He looked down on everyone else, called Atlas names multiple times, and abandoned a passenger to prove his superiority by not being late. He objected to any goods work and refused to change despite getting multiple chances and even the threat of being sent away or turned into a generator. Duncan, like Andreas, can be abrasive and has occasionally exhibited prejudice against other engines (though his was less class-based like Andreas and more of a typical anti-diesel sentiment). He's also done some very selfish things like stranding his passengers on the viaduct. On the other hand, Duncan's been far more willing to change and learn from his mistakes. He made up with Rusty after the diesel helped him and admitted stopping on the viaduct was wrong after hearing Rheneas's tale. He's a hard worker who'll do any job despite his complaining, and for all his bluntness and occasional rudeness, he generally means well according to Peter Sam. He also has more of an excuse for his attitude; since he used to work in a factory and the roughness of the place rubbed off on him. Even his halting on the viaduct, while undoubtedly wrong and damaging to the railway's reputation, was more understandable than Andreas leaving a passenger behind given their respective motives. Duncan was protesting being (as he saw it) unfairly neglected after years of loyal service to the company. Andreas, by contrast, was just trying to prove his superiority over the other Mid Sodor engines. I think this says a lot about who each engine is. Andreas wanted to show that he was *better* than everyone else; Duncan wanted to be treated the *same* as everyone else. And again, unlike Andreas, Duncan later realized he was wrong and admitted as much to Skarloey. I suppose at the end of the day, Duncan's issues stem more from a short fuse and a strong, if often misplaced, sense of justice rather than arrogance like Andreas's problems. He has his flaws and often acts out in haste, but he still does his share of work and he's willing to recognize his mistakes if someone can show him why he was wrong. In short, for all his flaws, Duncan *tries* to be a good engine, whereas Andreas never did. And their respective fates, one living a happy life and the other sent away, could not be more fitting.
I know he ended up being used for a boat, but I do hope we'll get to learn more about Andreas' ultimate fate. For all we know, he could still be out there, whether taken out of the boat and used in something else (BIG SPOILERS: Much like how Atlas was used as a replacement for the original steam boiler in the Old Mill) or had been preserved as a boat, rather than being scrapped. After all, any engine deserves a better fate than scrapping, and many, many years of being a steam launch probably would've mellowed even an engine like Andreas out.
It feels so weird to see andreas act like this after binge watching stories of sodor. And i can definitely see where victor got his inspiration, it would be nice to see him again especially since stories of sodor andreas was killed off
You know, the way how Andreas turned into a boat is somewhat funny to me. Not because he deserved it, but because he shares the same face textures as Hubert.
Awesome. At first I thought the ending was anti-climactic, but then I realized the punishment fits Andreas. He complained about dirty work and commented on the ridiculousness of Stanley being turned into a pumping-engine, but then he got turned into a dirty maintenance boat. A cruel twist of irony, I must say. I can't wait to hear about Atlas and that tramway; that left me with so many questions! On another note, your narrating was improved so much. I remember your first episodes with rushed, nervous narrating, and then to now; you're calm, engaged, and you can really sense the emotions in the story through your voice. Keep it up, because this series is only getting better. Cheers!
Great episode! For some reason, I found Andreas's fate to be a little funny (I don't know why though). And for a second there, I actually thought Lily was going to crash into him. And that cliffhanger at the end! I'm really excited to see what happened to Atlas! Excellent job! :)
The Andreas-two parter was quite interesting. I certainly didn't expect Andreas being turned into a boat, I thought he was merely sent away. It also shows Falcon/Sir Handel's true personality, though he might be grumpy and inconsiderate at times, he isn't hot-headed and arrogant as Andreas was; and he never searches for problems or negative effects to the railway. The plot twist on Atlas was also something I didn't see coming, a railway (though apparently a small one) that was completely unknown to Charlie Hatt; and at Harwick, too. STMY has been going well and the stories are excellent. Well done! Keep up the good work!
Glad to see Falcon/Sir Handel display his wisdom side, and how Duke and Lily acted as the more senior character! The plot twisted so tightly at the end caught me completely off guard, that tramway up at Harwick wasn't mentioned in IoS by any chance? However, I must say I'm quite impressed by the MSR's extraordinarily good skill at converting engines, I mean Stanley to a pumping engine, Smudger a generator, and Andreas to a boat, perhaps that was why they failed in finance later. That wasn't quite a serious lie Andreas told, but it was crucial to define an engine's mentality and attitude: passengers were just a tool of keeping his reputation, and how they were treated did not really matter to him, meanwhile he felt perfectly easy to lie to everyone for this. But that raised another question: if Andreas only considered passengers as a tool to no importance, then why did he bother to lie?
Well, at least Andreas got a third chance as a boat. Even that may be more than he deserved. Still, you've certainly got me hyped for the next episode.
Great conclusion :) Didn't expect that sort of outcome for Andreas, part of me secretly wishes to see him as a boat haha The scene between Andreas and Falcon is without a doubt one of the strongest scenes in this scene storytelling wise :)
3:35 He tripped while running for a coach. i did that myself on my train to toronto and i still got on the train on time, even when it was slowly moving too.
Hi all, The Skarloey Railway & Mid Sodor Railway models have now been released on my website: wildnorwester3d.jimdo.com/thomas-content/skarloey-mid-sodor-railways/
Andreas got what he deserved. You'd think that Stanly's words from the back of the shed would have made him see sense.Great to see maturity from Falcon, wonder where it went when he arrived on the Skarloey Railway.
Holly mother of whatamIwatching?! That crash was EPIC, for a near moment, I thought Andreas's end was by fatal crash, but he was turned into a BOAT!?!! LOL. Quite an ending to say the least, it really shows how some honesty and a little modesty can come a long way.
Hmmm... It's a shame, Andreas did cause a lot of trouble, but you have to feel sorry for him that he ended up being turned into a boat.... Have to wonder what happened to him afterward, did the boat sink? Did he get scrapped? Or could he perhaps still be out there somewhere?.... We can only wonder.
Although we may never know what officially happened to Andreas, this is my theory: The MSR manager realizes that the last incident isn't Andreas' fault, so he decides to give him a final chance. Andreas is already a steamboat, and docked in America. Manager thinks he was scrapped, and requests that someone find him. Years later, he's found in a maritime museum and restored. By this time, his attitude is completely changed. He is sent to work on the Skarloey Railway as their number 11. He apologizes to Atlas and puts Duncan in his place when he starts acting cocky like he usually does.
Andreas is somewhat similar to Duncan. Both are yellow narrow gauge engines and are both grumpy and bad-mannered. However, unlike Andreas, Duncan redeemed himself.
This episode was really solid and I knew that Andreas was up to something fishy from the very beginning and he surely got what he deserved and he seemed like a similarity to Smudger/Stanley/No.2.
Now this is one I am keen to see the conclusion of: Hopefully Atlas is still around. Personally I'd have loved to see Andreas shunted off similar to what we think is the fate of Lew, the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway engine that was pensioned off to Brazil (we think) and now is MIA. It might have been interesting to see if he could return, still as much of a stuck-up snob as he once was. Hey, who knows, maybe Atlas will come back though!
Wow. I never really expected what happened to Andreas. I mean, I know other engines like him have either been scrapped, or used for spare parts like Albert, or turned into another piece of machinery like Stanley, but I never really expected any of them to be converted to a steam boat.
I just watched Arrogance followed by this Mistrust and thoroughly enjoyed the 2 parts of one story. I was gripped by it, what I liked the most was how through a lot of the film/s it's not as if everything was all flashy and epic, but your story drove things perfectly had me wanting to know the full story. I love your W&S engines too and the other ones you created, what have you called them and who are they in your fiction? I like older engines.
I understand that Andreas shouldn't have lied, but I honestly felt that what the Manager and engines did to him was a little too far, especially that part about him becoming part of a boat. Will we be seeing a possible return of him in the future, or is he gone forever?
+Cagan She actually stopped a slight bit shorter than expected on the first take. I decided to go with that, as having her too close would make the 'Andreas looking up' shot too difficult. My original plan was to have it go black when Andreas closed his eyes, have the brake squeal effect, then just have it go to the Andreas looking up shot. I tried that, but didn't like how it turned out.
poor Andreas.... he'd have learnt his lesson after what happened to him. =( he didn't deserve to be made into a boat! maybe Charlie Hat could try and find him?
I hope Stanley is spoken about and Andreas returns as a boat, maybe replacing bulstrode in your series and being a old boat beached near the little Western
Me watching:ok this reminded me of the stories of sodor where andreas was much more nicer (im not complaining ok its just it reminded me of a another series from a fan)
Hopefully we won't encounter anymore "#2s" that are converted into a different machine (Especially Edward). But as fun as this story was, how could Andreas become a boat? Would his frame become a hull or something like that?
8:16-8:17 And 8:18-8:19 Duke: Enough, Both Of You. With 11:19-11:20, 11:21-11:22, 11:23-11:24 And 11:25-11:26 Andreas: Stop! (2x) Trucks: Did You Want Us To Come Along With Another Lie? Andreas: Not Like That!
Well, the episode was pretty interesting. I was honestly expecting Stanley to get a new "roommate" if you get my meaning, but his punishment is pretty creative too. And a tramway we have never heard of before? That is definately an eye catcher. I wonder if there will be a mini series that takes place in that tramway. Overall, this episode was pretty good. :)
Is it just me or is the Mid-Sodor Railway really unlucky, I mean the railway has had rude engines like Albert, Andreas, Stanley, and Smudger (In the TV Series and RWS.)
Wow, that's quite a dramatic conclusion. I can't help be feel pity for Andreas and I suspect that's how you intended it. I could be wrong but I assume he was new, or at least not very old, when he arrived on the MSR and his initial conceitedness was much like that of Godred and 'Lord Harry' (now Patrick). He thought he was a cut above the other engines and as such felt he needed to show it by running on or ahead of time. So much so that he ignored a not-so-late passenger, and lied about it to his driver so that he didn't have to wait. After lying to his driver, he then continued the ruse in hopes that he would get away with it. As it so often does with such things, this bite him on the behind. This is something children and young adults generally have to learn, though sadly some don't. It led to something akin to the boy who cried wolf in that due to his past actions, when he was in fact innocent, no-one trusted him. An excellent bit of storytelling. Nice one. I do hope we get to find out what became of Atlas, and Andreas too.
Yes, but connecting trains aren't scheduled for the exact same time. Otherwise there wouldn't be time for the passengers to go from one train to the other.
11:39 - Andreas closed his eyes.
More like drifted into a deep sleep.
Haha! Love it.
“OH NO IM GOING TO CRA- hang on let me have a little nap first”
I'm calling it. The number 2 on the MSR is cursed! No wonder there wasn't another No. 2 after Andreas. XD
Perhaps it was the work at the Aluminum Works that made his character decay.
@@richieosborn2639 I thought only Atlas was sent to work at the aluminium plant. Maybe I should rewatch the story.
In my universe he is a bit grumpy when he arrived but is quite nice and he was ok with pulling trucks and the rails were a bit loose where he derailed
My theory was that he was upset about losing Duke and his old railway and was taking his anger out on his new railway.
Really nicely done. Your storytelling has definitely improved a lot over the years, and I love the concept and design of Andreas.

*Wonders how many times it took WildnorWester to make sure Lily didn't hit Andreas*
Sounds cool, neat to hear! Thx!
poor Andreas.... he'd have learnt his lesson after what happened to him. =(
he didn't deserve to be made into a boat! maybe Charlie Hat could try and find him?
Tedthetrain productions.........I think Andreas became a boat, and after a while, was scrapped.
I hope Stanley is spoken about and Andreas returns as a boat, maybe replacing bulstrode in your series and being a old boat beached near the little Western
;-)
@@WildNorWester As those two are not popular engines and Duke's reaction and the others seem very different
@@WildNorWester If I may ask, whatever happened to Smudger?
@@concept5631 Smudger doesn't exist in my episodes. It's Stanley in the RWS.
@@WildNorWester Ah alright. Thanks for clarifying.
good story clip and what he gonna find up stream or whatever narrtor say?
awsome work wildnorwester
question if andrese is now a steam boat what happen to him after that did he get scraped or is he ten cents
Probably scrapped, I'd say
thel tj IIfive either that or he's Hubert the hovercraft. The faces are the same

Me watching:ok this reminded me of the stories of sodor where andreas was much more nicer
(im not complaining ok its just it reminded me of a another series from a fan)
I know. But this is where Andreas originated. He's my character, and these stories were first.
Ok @@WildNorWester
@@WildNorWester I know that Andreas is a bully and a jerk

+Heath Whitley I thought I got that one from SI3D. Do you want me to add you to the credits?
***** Oh Sure Sure. I know. 😏
Heath Whitley Yes. I Love That Too.
Heath Whitley So Do I.
Heath Whitley Good.
How Andreas can whistle without a driver and fireman?
Whoa. Andreas a new engine on the Mid Sodor Railway?
We need the return of Andreas
Hopefully we won't encounter anymore "#2s" that are converted into a different machine (Especially Edward). But as fun as this story was, how could Andreas become a boat? Would his frame become a hull or something like that?
+icverano525 He's mounted in an already existing boat, and his cylinders adapted to drive the boat's propeller.
***** I see. That would be interesting to see in visuals, whether or not we do. :D
8:16 Enough, both of you.
Thank you.
8:12-8:13 And 8:14-8:15 Andreas: You DARE Called Me- Sir Handel: I’m Calling You What You Are, Nothing More!
Thank you.
Thank you.
was i the only one thinking that the manager keeping a watch on Andreas wasn't that bad but DUKE watching you know there's trouble am i right
You know you goofed if Duke is watching you
Will Andreas the Steamboat be seen in STMY?
Well, the episode was pretty interesting. I was honestly expecting Stanley to get a new "roommate" if you get my meaning, but his punishment is pretty creative too. And a tramway we have never heard of before? That is definately an eye catcher. I wonder if there will be a mini series that takes place in that tramway.
Overall, this episode was pretty good. :)
Is it just me or is the Mid-Sodor Railway really unlucky, I mean the railway has had rude engines like Albert, Andreas, Stanley, and Smudger (In the TV Series and RWS.)
Nicely done!
+Edward Tear Andreas' story is done, I'm afraid. But Atlas, on the other hand...
So the driver and guard jumped clear. Where's the fireman?
Really? I thought that was only true on the miniature engines.
Even if they didn't jump I'm sure they would be fine.
The narrator said that Lily was a couple of minutes late, but then Lily herself says that Anderas would only be leaving one minute late.
Yes, but connecting trains aren't scheduled for the exact same time. Otherwise there wouldn't be time for the passengers to go from one train to the other.
Oh yeah, that does make sense. Good point, Dan.
where was the fireman on andreas?
Narrow gauge engines such as Andreas don't have firemen - their drivers do both jobs. The cabs are too small to fit two people.
Do you plan on doing a model of Stanley?
The Mid Sodor Railway doesn't get along with engines that are number 2.
Andreas had it coming, and personally I thought Lilly was about to plough into him after his crash, - I'm wondering what happened to Atlas :/
I Always Thought This Episode Was On The 7th Of November Which Is My Birthday When I Turned 25.
Thank you for your hard work :)
