OMG, this car brings back memories. In 1990 i was 19yrs old, and bought a 1963 Bel Air wagon with the 327 turbo fire and 2 speed power glide. Purchased in Memphis Tenn, for $700, from a retired school teacher who was the original owner. Drove the car to Texas, joined the Army, then drove to North Carolina, once i got assigned to my first duty station. We would load up half the guys in the barracks, head to the bar, and the most sober person would drive back. Car was an absolute head turner. Coolest feature was the rear facing 3rd row seat. I had the best years of my young life in that car. I sold it for $700(exactly what i paid for it) in 1995 when i was discharged from Army. I had beaten the car up so bad in the 5yrs i had it, and didnt think it could make the return trip to TX. I regret that decision often. Would love to still have that car in my drive way. 😢
I got the same year 63 impala wagon off the og owner. Came stock with the same interior but in a cream white.. I took the tired 283 out a swapped it for a blue print 383 with a 3 speed behind it along with other necessary upgrades… fun to drive and the family loves it! Anyways whoever picked this one up got a good looking ride…
Even with a 265 V-8 still a decent people hauler , the predecessor to the mini- van. Those Were The Days! I had a 1962 Pontiac Catalina two door hard top 389 CI. 4 barrel 3 speed on the floor , I converted it to automatic because of my lead foot kept destroying the pilot bushing then the transmission every 6 months. Candy Apple Red with white top, wish I had kept it! Gave $400.00 for it in 1969.
When I was a small child when walking to school I passed one of these everyday and the one thing that made it stick out to me it had like a wall or cage like thing behind the front seat. I have no idea what it was used for had to be something special.
Hello. I’m looking for the light in the back near the 3rd row seat. Any ideas where I could find this? I noticed they look similar on different years. I have a 65 Impala Wagon. What should I be searching for online to find it. Thanks.

I love the fact that it's all original and not messed up with a bunch of after market crap!
Me too
I'm a 60s boomer and I cannot get enough of these old Chevy's. So cool!
That old girl is clean as hell. Looking all original too.

I'm glad Chev managed to keep the triple taillights for this wagon. Usually the design is altered. The wheel covers look a little plain for an Impala.
Good point!
I remember when these were everywhere.
I went to the site and checked the details of this wagon. Glorious 63 wagon!

With some vette ralleys or chrome irocs she would a perfect cruiser
The station wagon was the so called mini van of it's day.. Many of these mini vans are labled "station wagons" at the Secretary of State office
