Feels like the map generator kinda screwed up and there wasn't supposed to be a block to the north-east by the lumbermill. Starting town would have looked way more solid that way.
How do you get the ability to see which stack is next in turn? I can't seem to find any option for this in the HD-mod. Also, great, interesting video! It's nice to hear you explain your moves.
No, not all lol, it's just a worse and more expensive version of Haste. Also Water Magics is the worst school of magic so that is another reason why it's bad, and it's a tier 4 spell, Prayer is actually nothing compared to Town Portal, Meteor Shower, Chain Lightning and Ressurection, the reason why Prayer isn't forgotten is because there are templates that banned Haste for being too broken, but we still have a 1.00$ version of Haste, yes, it is Prayer. Soooo, considering you said you want to grow your channel: Watchtime percentage is a pretty important part of getting videos recommended. Now, I personally can almost never finish an episode in one sitting, because usually I only have time while I eat or am on a small break (20-30 mins), and I am guessing that even though youtube puts me back to the timestamp I left at, it still counts it as a new view, further lowering the watchtime percentage. I haven't really tested this, it's just a theory, but either way... it might be worthwhile considering cutting up episodes into little 20 minute chunks. There are two reasons this might help your channel out: For one, it fixes the possibility that the watchtime percentage is lower even when the viewer is enjoying the video (simply not having enough time to watch the whole episode), and two, it could allow you to upload semi-daily, and youtube loves consistent frequent uploads! And as a bonus, finding and using correct cliffhangers could make the viewers want to see the next episode a bit more in some cases, and make them more likely to tune in next time. But take this tip with a grain of salt, since I'm not really a big youtuber, I just read r/NewTubers and stuff like that. And this could have some negative sideffects, since cutting up episodes into said 20 minute parts could become kind of troublesome if there is no clear place to put a cliffhanger in, and would require you to upload more often which you might not have the internetspeed/time to do. And of course, 20 minutes in HoMM3 is not a lot of time, so that's another thing... Perhaps you could use the community tab to find out more about your viewers? Like, "Do you watch episodes in one sitting?" or "Shorter but more frequent- VS Longer but less frequent episodes" Unfortunately HoMM3 is a bit niche and non-mainstream so it's tough to grow since there isn't really a high ceiling, but hey, the game's been alive for 22 years so at least the fans/viewers are dedicated :P Anyway, can't wait for the next one :))
Hi Zorutan, thanks for the advice, rest assured I spend no lack of time agonising over these little details. :) My understanding is that watch time % isn't that important and UA-cam is more interested in session time. I believe an understanding that viewers are less likely to make it through a super long video is built into the system and doesn't actually affect views too much - most 2 hour videos have the same issue so it would only be a concern if the video performs poorly relative to other videos of similar length. My experience is if you don't make it through a long video but watch it for a decent length, UA-cam will recommend it you the next few times you go on your homepage.
I know this video is 2 years old. Hopefully, someone will see this. How are you able to view roughly how many units are in a stack? I’ve looked at all the mods I could find. I tried Reddit, UA-cam, and Google but I haven’t had any luck.
14:11 battle- in sytuation like this you need to set gryfs at position 2 and 6, but in that sytuation you should put haste on pikiner before you move gryfs maximum forward, and than push pikiners maximum forward... the morales show im right.... 14:25 gryfs shoul atack upper gremiln not just blocking.
@norovo Why not rush to Capitol ASAP? You spend the whole time complaining about lacking money, but rushing to Capitol makes up for what you spend to get it in like, a week or something, I forget but it isn't very long at all. The enemies will never attack you in time for you to benefit from having it early. Around the time you're trying to puzzle through spending cash to fight to open the on-map Portal of Glory, the Capitol would have already repaid the investment and you would have had all the Griffins you needed.
I am really confused on this first map, all those shrines and you didn't hit them (the lvl1's) you could have gotten a foothold on spells early on and taken a few more battles with the spells(provided they arent duplicates ), what was the logic behind NOT taking them?
Great video, gotta pick up this game again! Question, I noticed you didn't pick up certain resources when passing, is this because you want to save travel points for scouting?
I found it a little strange that you bought additional heroes so early, I would think that investing that gold in a resource silo, while inefficient and expensive, would have ultimately netted you more resources than going for so long with zero ore income, nevertheless great game you played here, love hmm3 Also, at an hour and 16mins when you defeated Fiona I think it was, I am shocked that you gave up an opportunity to learn intelligence
Hey, great video, just wanted to ask. How do you install the hd mod? I bought the complete version which is not hp so I was just wondering how to get the hd mod to work, thanks.
I'm pretty sure the AI knows the entire map from the start. The Necro fog of war generator thing is useless against them. So them being allied and sharing a map doesn't actually change their planning ability. All it really does is make them not attack one another. They'll mainly still goof around and make bad moves but sometimes be smart.
@@Zorutan Here is a thread discussing this: heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=2523 My guess about them poking out is that, depending on your difficulty level, they may be more or less cautious about approaching too closely. For them the fog doesn't exist.
Not getting that Mage Guild ASAP, is a huge mistake in my book. Especially when you've had the resources for days and are just sitting on it. I don't mind Creature rush, like with StrongHold and Fortress because they make it easy, but The fact that MageGuild level 1 only costs wood, ore, and 500g is too good to pass up for the benefits it provides.
Hey so, the link for the HD mod is down but I found it on the Nexus, at least I assume it's the same because they link to the same website that is also down, but when I play I don't have a turn order or see enemy numbers when I check, and I can't find any settings for it. Is it the wrong mod or are there hidden settings somewhere? Sorry to come at you with just a tech question, I'm really enjoying the video and using it to try to learn how to get better at the game myself.

I am really confused on this first map, all those shrines and you didn't hit them (the lvl1's) you could have gotten a foothold on spells early on and taken a few more battles with the spells(provided they arent duplicates ), what was the logic behind NOT taking them?
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAA!
I just got the game and I am hooked how do you play the shadow version or the other expansion in the scenario?
Great video, gotta pick up this game again! Question, I noticed you didn't pick up certain resources when passing, is this because you want to save travel points for scouting?
Do you have a video about settings of Heroes III ?
I found it a little strange that you bought additional heroes so early, I would think that investing that gold in a resource silo, while inefficient and expensive, would have ultimately netted you more resources than going for so long with zero ore income, nevertheless great game you played here, love hmm3
Also, at an hour and 16mins when you defeated Fiona I think it was, I am shocked that you gave up an opportunity to learn intelligence
Dunno about that, why would the AI randomly poke it's head out of the darkness without picking up anything then?
@@Zorutan Here is a thread discussing this: heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=2523
My guess about them poking out is that, depending on your difficulty level, they may be more or less cautious about approaching too closely. For them the fog doesn't exist.
The way you fought the horned demons at the initial portal of glory makes no sense to me.
my fav moment is at 1:10:41 when you misclick ... s-s-sugar. I guess you have kids :D
Not getting that Mage Guild ASAP, is a huge mistake in my book. Especially when you've had the resources for days and are just sitting on it. I don't mind Creature rush, like with StrongHold and Fortress because they make it easy, but The fact that MageGuild level 1 only costs wood, ore, and 500g is too good to pass up for the benefits it provides.
mege guild lvl 1 costs 2000
Never thought of splitting the weakest units to absorb attacks. Is it a common tactic?
Yeah, since units work in stacks if you have room do it. They absorb damage, and can act as blockades so opponent has to waste attacks turns on them.
