I watch AEW every week and really enjoy Cornette's podcast. He makes a lot of good points, i.e. AEW does some stupid shit at times, but if you take him too seriously then you'd think he's the only opinion in wrestling that counts, which is quite simply not true. There are parts of AEW that are right up his street, usually Cody's segments, but, given it is a buffet presentation of all kinds of wrestling they present, he ultimately comes across as quite narrow minded, e.g. Omega and the Bucks are undeniably some of the greatest performers in the business, but he always talking about them like they're amateurs.

I had company that was gonna come over to watch this. They cancelled. After watching the elite deletion match I was glad they did cancel. I would have been so embarrassed. I still feel embarrassed just admitting here that I watched it.

Here's why AEW guys get more offended by what Cornette says than WWE guys:
AEW guys have a lot more "creative freedom", so they get to do all the dumb ideas that pop into their heads and THEY think that they're geniuses. They go out there and do something, and it bombs, and they're personally offended by the criticism.
WWE doesn't give a shit. They've never cared about criticism from anyone and they've minded their own business - and they've been in business for almost 40 years. AEW needs to grow up and pull the leash on their talent.
The wwe has been around for a lot longer than 40 years. Its been around since the early 1950's. It started out as Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC) then it became the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) then they dropped "Wide" and it became the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and finally after losing a lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund it changed it's name to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Matt Hardy hasnt been Matt Hardy since The Hardy Boyz days! It all started to go downhill around the early 2000s when he did the V.1 character, and he hasnt found himself yet. I think at best he shouldve stuck with the V.1 version of himself but changed the name. He shouldve been another high flying compliment to Jeffs singles run but instead, basically became this day in ages V.2 of Marty Janetty. I know its too late for me to take another character he does seriously anymore, even when hes doin his best to be himself now....finally....again...i think🤔🤣. When Matt left WWE, it was under the idea that he was being constrained creatively and still wanted to wrestle here and there even as he’s gotten older and that was what Vince had in mind. Hate to agree with Vince on this but after getting knocked unconscious and allowed to do this kind of crap-seems like it a wise business decision on Vince’s part. Between Matt and Jeff they’ve had lengthy successful careers but it seems like Matt’s career whims haven’t really done so well for AEW either.

I find it hilarious because most of AEW's hardcore fans are some of the most toxic people I've seen on social media. There's a subreddit that mocks what the wrestling reddit says a lot and someone sent them a death threat for the grave offense of making fun of how dumb or gullible wrestling fans are.
Between a lack of wrestling (or even sports entertainment) the show provides the casual viewer and a cult-like mentality where everything about AEW is good and can't be criticized unless it's constructive, their fanbase doesn't have a leg to stand on here.
Edit: Also Reby on Twitter is incredibly obnoxious, you should have seen her go off on Impact when they tried to claim rights to the "broken universe". Which, in hindsight, I really wish they kept so Matt couldn't fall back on this to get himself over while Jeff's doing fairly well for himself in the other company.
I've seen other interviews with more successful women complain about her so I could see aew telling the crew to stay away from her just to avoid problems

I have no idea who Reby Hardy is... all I gather is that (1) she married Matt Hardy and (2) she needs to take a remedial English class.
I totally understand why Jericho and Hardy want to put younger talent over. But they could have done it professionally in WWE. They have tarnished their names and legacies by going to AEW to do this. I really struggle to name 5 young wrestlers in AEW that will be spoke about in 10 years. It’s not because they’re untalented, it’s because they have been buried by poor booking and being a part of a parody of wrestling instead being somewhere they could potentially be taken seriously.
