The Monumental Courage of Amy Wax

- Amy Wax is a woman of monumental courage, and has my utmost respect. Why? I think she has her principles and doesn't let herself be defined by anything but her convictions.
I go over some of the statements that she made that had landed her in fire, and also talk about her character from having observed her up close during my time at the University of Pennsylvania. From this, I conclude that she has more brains and guts than any of her detractors. I am rooting for Professor Wax in her disciplinary proceedings & we should all be concerned for the broader societal implications if they decide to strip her of tenure.
My man Charlie dropping in to give us another banger of a video before dropping off the face of the planet for 8 months again.
I wont this time
I promise
He will only drop off for six months this time. Guess we’ll be waiting till October.

As a Christian Pakistani, I am so sick of all this! I thank you for defending Professor Wax, she is immensely courageous! Kamsamnida, Charlie-shi! Oh and congratulations on your graduation! God bless you! ❤
My brother/sister in Christ! So glad you could join us. (3 months ago 😵💫)
She speaks the truth.
Problem is, to some of our society, the truth is like garlic to a vampire.
Nobody wants to hear the truth, they just want everything to be “socially acceptable”
I would have never heard of Amy Wax if not for Jared Taylor, who is now banned from UA-cam.
To be fair, while I agree with several of her points, garlic can be offensive to anyone if they belch in your face after eating some. I hate to be 'one of those people' but it really is in the delivery, as much as the words you say. Look at how some comedians get away with saying stuff (and some even in spite of cancellation attempts). If you can make them laugh as you say it, a segment of the audience will hear and think about the point.
You'll always have the chronically offended complaining, but those will eventually get quieter and quieter as more of their allies realize people can feel ways and say things without any inherent bias or bigotry involved. It's just how acknowledging how the situation stands and what the data and statistics show.
@@Tiabliaj1989 True dat, my dude.
Belching garlic into someone's face is definitely no bueno.😂
False. She speaks lies, couched in pseudoscientific BS and pretends it is truth. Of course, to the racist, a racist is "brave", "courageous", and "truth telling". But ultimately, it is just a racist grift and everyone is in on the grift, including Wax. As long as you reject true integrity in favor of your racism, well, there it is.
I'm a white older woman. I absolutely love you and every one of your messages. Thank you.
I see you as a gift.
People of genuine integrity are a rare breed, especially in academia. She deserves our support.
she's a jew.
Which is why this lying charlatan has to go. She deserves nothing.
Which reminds me, I fulfilled a lifelong dream to finish college in my older years (about 20 years ago) and someone told me that the best professors are the ones you can't tell if they're liberal or conservative. I guess that's not true anymore. This prof sounds like one of the good ones and is paying for it with her career. My stance is, maybe this will open up an opportunity that will turn out to be great for her.
She lied about the statistics and political data. Asian immigrants are not more leftist, they are actual more Republican than others. She is not "genuine" at all, she is stirring up controversy to get attention and fame. Another FRAUD in academia.
@@MollyPitcher1778 maybe think for yourself for your political opinion and god forbid you follow a ziońaźï
I once personally sent a letter to Prof. Wax with my support, we need more people like her.
Me too!!!
Happy for you graduating law school🎉🦋👏
Thanks for making me aware of her!
Hey long time no see!! Sending you well wishes~
I love her podcasts appearances on The Glenn Show; she was just on there within the last month addressing this. Some stuff she has said sounds harsh, but if Glenn likes her and views her as a friend, she’s worth listening to. He asks her tough questions, too. Her answers really help clarify things.
I hate how the way people try to ruin other people's lives through character assassination, and refuse to let them be and talk.
Because many are emotionally immature.
That "fewer Asians" quote also really sounds like it's missing some context. I can't believe she just dropped it like that.
There definitely was context, and it sounded wholly different than in the headline. Forgot to mention in the video.

Good to see you still making videos. I'm glad you didn't back down
Thank you! @9:50 yes!!! I worked with a woman from the UK. I liked her at first, then realized that all she did was cut down and complain about the US and Americans. By the time i left that job, i was ready to scream at her go back to England.
And as more and more people are figuring out, the weaponized term racist is nothing but an anti Western kind slur. The professor you were speaking of sounds like a wonderful woman. Blessings to you and yours, young man
I was tempted to say "I am a simple man. I see a Charlie Cheon video, I upvote."
But videos should earn their upvote individually and not get it automatically cause you agreed with previous videos or are a fan of the person.
But you still got the upvote in the end, champ.
God I love your content. Your honesty is really refreshing. This particular subject reminds me of a quote from Epictetus:
"Remember, it is not enough to be hit or insulted to be harmed, you must believe that you are being harmed. If someone succeeds in provoking you, realize that your mind is complicit in the provocation. Which is why it is essential that we not respond impulsively to impressions; take a moment before reacting, and you will find it easier to maintain control."
Saying offensive things should never put you at risk of losing anything in a civilized society. From how you decribe this woman she sounds like a great professor, and it would be a shame to lose her over something so minor as this.
Let me just ask this. Why do they only care about Black students when it comes to college? They completely neglect all other educations throughout their lives. What is more racist, lowering the bar just so a specific race can get into school or asking them to meet the requirements like 'everyone'?
Instead of gimping the standards to make it easier for them, how about you hire better teachers and administrators at all levels of school to help nurture their education?
I’m a black university student in STEM and honestly Asians are just willing to grind harder for that last 0.5 grade points. The effort required for 4.0 feels exponentially harder than 3.5. It often comes down to checking for algebra mistakes, memorizing formulas better, having entire problem sets memorized, not messing up on a practice homework question, etc. Overall conceptual understanding of a topic between the two groups could be the same while Asians have a better technical understanding at time of examination.
Yep. Not Asian but I agree with you.
Awesome share. Contributing to your comment, if we switched the generally assumed culture associated with Asians with that generally associated with blacks, would the culture switch result in more blacks grinding for the 4.0 and Asians not feeling it is worth it.
Since I know text is easy to interpret negatively I'd like to reiterate I agree with what you are saying and looking to examine culture vs skin colour
I remember Dr. Sowell describing going through the university library on a Friday/Saturday night.
The grind cannot be underemphasized. Which is also a good thing because it shows that there is no secret. Just hard work
Blacks need to understand, most first generation who can go to college tend to go to state schools and do good. It is not they are stupid, they do not have parents who went to college and can give them some advice. The next generation in general will go to more prominent schools and do better than there parents. Most groups progress by generations. There are exceptions, but that is how most groups progress.
Wax commented that most Asian immigrants support Democrats and help to advance their positions. That's why she feels the U.S. is better off with fewer Asians and less Asian immigration. I'm a 4th generation American who is Asian and I completely understand what she's saying. I'm not offended.
Says user "no dogs or chinese" lol. Sure, you're Asian all right.
Yeah, it was misquoted, the full statement makes much more sense.
@@alexanderaz8 It's obviously a sarcastic statement referencing an old sign.

Came here in the states in 97. I became a democrat because all you hear from the media is that republicans are racists and democrats are for the minorities. I believed that for 19 years. I remember hating on Trump because I used to watch Bill Maher. I was still a Trump hater when he declared he was running for president.
The media were against Trump. They said he’s treating the presidential race a circus act, so I decided to watch the primary debates. I finally listen to the exact words that came from his mouth, not from the media, and I was blown away. I mentioned all the things, which I think was the problem this country was facing at the time. Then I watch cnn and msnbc, and I was shocked! They were like Trump said this and Trump said that. I was lke, that’s not what Trump said and meant. That’s when the words “fake news”finally hit me. I started watching youtube videos about fake news, and I felt disgusted from what I found. For 19 years, I believed the left’s lies. I ended up voting for Trump and voting red for the first time. I voted for Trump in 2020 and will definitely vote for him again this November.
Thanks for being honest and applying critical thinking and logic. I wish there were more people like you.
I'm trapped in Ireland which is more woke than America. Imagine california being a country and that's what you have here.
At least you aren't in scottland 😂😂
Sorry to hear that guys. Hang in there.
I've been seeing things about massive protests against immigration in Ireland. Get involved. Keep Ireland for the Irish.
Irish went from the actually oppressed minority to being lumped in with "evil whites" in a single generation.
What happened to Ireland?? I love Ireland’s history, and each time I visited, but my God I had no clue Ireland is this brainwashed.
Congratulations on your graduation!
I'm glad youre here with us. I'm glad youre able to share your opinions. And I wholeheartedly agree that we dont have to agree on everything to treat each other with respect and get along well with each other.
Good luck on the bar exam if you havent taken it yet!
Making no comment about any issues or opinions; it's amazing how age and life experience tends to shape ones perspective. Come back to this comment in 15 years and marvel at the ways your understanding of the world has changed.
I doubt my opinion will change the fact that feelings have no bearing over reality.
People's "right" to be offended will never trump my right, or ability to think.
Charlie you definitely have a gift of being articulate and are clearly a well-spoken advocate for Amy Wax. Absolutely brilliantly delivered message here. Also - BRAVO!!! fantastico e meritato! Congratulations on graduating law school!!
I’m always so happy to watch you and hear you discuss options in our world… it’s refreshing to listen to an educated young person!!! I see so many youth that are not aware of what is going on in our world!
Any day Charlie posts is a good day.
You're back!
I don't know why Google threw this onto my home page, but I'm all for it!! Great video, and you presented your position admirably... Best wishes to you, and your professor!
You are literally the only channel on UA-cam I will listen to political discussion like this from. Everyone else I've seen is clearly 'redpilled' or 'bluepilled', biased, spinning things toward their side, hateful, or whatever.
As someone who considers themselves a centrist capable of seeing both sides and putting aside my own biases - I really appreciate just having someone to listen to who is reasonable, logical, sees things for what they are, and isn't afraid to say it. (as a white male, I can't really say much or I'll get crucified by the left, while the right will call me woke lmao.)
Hope you stick around here and there without too long of an absence this time! (and congrats on graduating of course)
This is “red pilled” content, believe it or not.
Welcome back Charlie. Another great video
Good to see you again.
Hope you're ok. I know you were going through some tough times not long ago.

I missed your videos Charlie. I'm not sure where I heard it, but a quote I find to be more and more relevant today goes, "For those that Hate the Truth, the Truth seems like Hate."

Congratulations on your degree, may you be a force for light in this world of darkness and confusion!
I think UA-cam deleted my last comment so I’ll just say this, you’re a very level headed person and awesome!

Thanks for another important video. You’re a brave guy and unfortunately rare.

P.S. Make sure that if you've previously subscribed that you haven't been unsubscribed without your knowledge.
Please, do not stop making videos.
Congratulations on your graduation. Well done!
bro is the GOAT of UA-cam rn. People need to hear the truth of racial and cultural disparity in the US in a way that's real. Putting black people in the US in a position where they're never allowed to be properly criticized is a recipe for disaster. Same thing with anyone else.
She sounds like she cares about truth over feelings. She sees things from her own perspective and tries to voice her mind.
I hope that she gets the supports she needs to keep her position and career stability.
It is a sad state of affairs that emotions are taking over logic and discussion. Debate is a healthy thing that is nearly gone in modern society.
Go Charlie!!! We’re rooting for you.
Congratulations 🎊🍾 🎉 Go forth and change the world. 🌎 Like you already are!
Congratulations on your graduation!
Loved this vid!
Well said ❤
I said this previously in your most recent video that too bad there's only one "Like" button that I can hit. Your ability to coherently articulate your opinions is admirable. I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel! Excellent points you made and them coming from a young individual like yourself is a breath of fresh air in this day and age of absurd political correctness.
Good to hear a hot take from an actual Penn Law student who took one of Prof. Wax's classes. I think her case is a good litmus test for the future of academic freedom and have been keeping an eye on it for some time.
Integrity matters and it will carry you thru many storms. Great video.
Congratulations on graduating law school Charlie!! 🎉🎉❤❤❤
I appreciate your argument! Thank you!
Thank you for speaking out!
My white nephew went to law school. He said that the score for passing was lowered for blacks, but then it was also raised for Asians. This is unfair to blacks AND Asians. If we are "colorblind", it should be the same passing scores for everyone.
your video is a great way to learn the art of reasoning
Salute to Amy Wax for having the courage to speak her mind.
I think it simply just doesn't matter how controversial the things she said were, the whole point of college is to force people to confront opinions of all kinds, including incredibly controversial ones. She should keep her tenure BECAUSE her opinions are controversial.
I’m white but Asian culture truly is what many old fashioned white cultures strive for. Asian culture promotes hard work and strong morals. The country would absolutely benefit from a mentality like that
Really enjoyable video. Thanks so much.
Thank you for defending truth and honor.
Thank you for saying what a lot of us would love to say, but don't have the platform. Thank you so very much!
Hi Charlie ... John (from Australia) - thank you for your wonderful offerings. I think it's great that you're standing up for Ms Wax - that shows depth of character that most can only aspire to. it seems you have built yourself an immunity to the Lemming Virus. She made an objective statement from a clear observation. They are coming at her because “feelings over facts”.
Great video, Charlie. Well done.
I'm glad there's still people like you. Makes me feel like I'm not going crazy.
Truth is a tough pill to swallow; so it is easier to deflect and change the narrative.
Your point about Asian culture brought back a memory. In the late 1980's I worked with refugees from around the world. We had a lot of people from SE Asia, and there was a problem at that time with Asian gangs on the west coast and elsewhere. A shock to people who do know the respectful Asian culture you described. The Asian staff I worked with explained that families spent sometimes years in refugee camps where the old cultural system broke down which led to chaos and the gangs starting up, which were then imported here to the US. These young people were not the normal immigrants/refugees coming straight from their country/culture. I loved all the immigrant communities I worked wtih - each bringing something invaluable to the US. (Especially - food!)
Honestly I agree with you on most of your points but saying stuff like “sorry for your loss… of logic” and “keep talking sh!t from your Honda” gives HUGE 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓 energy. I don’t want to be talked down to, even if I share some views with the person who’s doing it.
You are aware that those were hyperbolic comments meant to emphasize the point against the hypothetical person in the story and not directed at the viewer, yes?
@@velraven8944 you are aware that it doesn’t matter who it’s directed at, and that it’s off putting regardless, yes? Try going on a date and talking that way to the waiter all night and use the logic of “but I didn’t do it to you” and see how that goes. I can almost guarantee you with 99% certainty that they’ll say “I’m going home early” and won’t call you back. The same principle applies here. I don’t really care tho, I was just giving my opinion to help the dude out because he might lose some fans that way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not trying to be rude, but I think in this case it's more of a 🏳🌈 thing than a 🤓 thing.
It is interesting to find this video. I appreciate your perspective on Prof Wax considering the way she is portrayed at Penn and in the media.
Congrats on graduating! Grad degrees are no joke.
I live in Orange County CA, and while I don't know the actual percentage off the top of my head, it feels like nearly half the population here is Asian. Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Cambodian, Laotian and Indonesian (pardon me if Indonesia isn't supposed to be in that list, I'm still learning) people are all represented here.
I live in a neighborhood that's almost exclusively Asian. I am not Asian. But my most profound observation is that man... Asian people are very good neighbors.
They keep their houses nice, mow their yards and grow flowers and fruit, keep their cars in good shape, never leave their trash bins out after it's been collected, walk their dogs around the neighborhood, don't have loud parties, and mind their own business.
There are some cons, though. I've noticed a tendency to stare at non-asians for uncomfortable periods of time, to be a bit absent-minded behind the wheel, and tend to be a bit unwelcoming to non-asians in spaces they've created for themselves. Lots of stores and restaurants around here with signage and everything else in their native language, and the staff all speak that language and won't respond to English. That's not super common, but common enough that nearly everyone has heard of it or seen it themselves.
But I mean, this is America and they can do that if they want to. Doesn't bother me. I like living around Asian people and have made a lot of Asian friends who have exposed me to a lot of really great food and entertainment I otherwise would have never even known about. They can be strange (to us) at times, but we are just as strange to them and everyone gets along pretty well here, at least for now anyway
Lovely video ❤I wish more people had first of all intelligence, and secondly the ability to separate logic from emotions.
Congrats on your graduation! 🎉✨️🎉
Keep up the good work Charlie ✌️👍. Much respect. Big fan of your work
Most Jewish people in America overwhelmingly support the Democratic Party, even more so than Asians, yet it is interesting that she has never said that there should be fewer Jewish people in America. Maybe it is because she herself is Jewish and most certainly has Jewish friends and family members who staunchly support the Democratic Party, and she wants them here in America regardless of their support for the Democratic Party. So this double standard plainly betrays her racial bias against Asians, which is simply clear and self-evident. Of course, this does not mean that she should lose tenure. It is her right to speak her mind. But let's not pretend she's not biased against Asians. She is.
Exactly. People are praising her for being "controversial" without actually THINKING about what she said. She is a hypocrite.
Actually, she has said that white liberal jewish women are horrible, and would probably want less if asked. Nice attempt at a gotcha though
Just listened to a podcast yesterday where she even expressed not really buying the recent claims of increased antisemitism on college campuses. I personally don’t doubt it, but if she does it’s hard to say she’s blindly pro-Jew on everything.
Imagine if a Tenured Professor said that: “Palestine would be better off with fewer Jews,” or “America would be better off with more Protestants and fewer Jews.” We’d have congressional hearings like the one about the protests at Columbia University.
Imagine that a person with a job said words. I mean… I’ll try… ok ok did they gather large crowds to harass and threaten people? Did they direct acts of violence toward anyone? Are we… supposed to be horrified simply by the existence of the opinion itself? Many people have such opinions. We’re allowed to hold views and, gasp, even express them in America. This video shows a very fruitful way to handle the exact hypothetical you described. Maybe watch it?
Pick me, pick me, plz sir won’t you pick me!!!
Congrats, you've been selected!
we need more people like this gentleman
Great video. You bring so much value!
Congratulations. I hope you pass the bar on your first try! Interesting question, if they are willing to strip tenure from Professor Wax, who will be next on the list? Another interesting thought, what is going to happen to those individuals who are so easily offended or are willing to lie when they end up before a judge? Are these individuals going to say something like, "Your Honor, if it pleases the court, throw the book at the defendant because the color of his shirt is wrong"? We started with a kangaroo court system back with O.J. and it has steadily gotten worse. And of course, it's important to remember that what goes around -- comes around. Be ready. Word is that Karma has a really impressive one/two knock out punch.
Well done young male! It has been a pleasure watching you grow into your own!
Once again you are correct.
At the recent olympics I dont recall seeing swimmers who were allowed to compete with substandard qualifying times. If they had , those athletes would've been humiliated in front of the world. Theres a great inverse injustice being done, its no fun being amongst people who are not truly your peers. Ivy league is supposed to be the ELITE in terms of giftedness.
Excellent video! This gives me hope for your generation.

Absolutely love your videos. But bro. Please get some art on your walls. Tapestry, pictures, banners, goodwill art. It will improve your mood a ton!

Remember, logic “has been thoroughly debunked”
Here's the problem: if you decide to forego diplomacy in your statements it is well in your right to do so, but few will genuinely want to think about what you are saying and examine it to see if there is some merit to your words. If I said "professor your ideas are complete and utter sh*t" as opposed to "professor I disagree with you" I doubt she would engage with me in constructive discussion with the same level of good faith, no matter how compelling the arguments I make and how well I articulate them, following that first sentence.
Congratulations on graduating!

Totally agree with you on having more Asians in this country. I'm perplexed as to why she said that. Not an Asian myself, if that lends any weight to this perspective.
