    It looks like I'm 8 years late, but this is the BEST video for the McFadden Clip Loader!
    Like the old adage says "RTFM"!
    Great instructions. Thank you.

    Just got one (12 years later). Adj. a little at a time and it works great. I used Rim oil on a Q-tip and lightly coated the slide in side. Thanks for the video. I just got a Hunter MK4!!

    Thanks for your video, I just got through watching a video where the guy sat there and pumped and pumped it, after watching that one I didn't think I'd be interested in buying one, seeing it work properly and the description you gave makes me much more interested in the product. Thanks again!

    I just got my Mkiii today and tried my clip loader, follow your tips and it works like a charm. I sprayed it with a little Remington oil, adjust the screw 1 turn at a time and works flawlessly, no more annoying one bullet at a time when reloading, now it's time to save money and buy more magazines. Thanks for the video and God bless!

    Thanks for the video! I have a Buckmark Hunter showing up in 2 days. I've already got the loader, 2 clips, and a pile of ammo to play with. Your video really clears up some things. Mine out of the box was "Load 9, drop 1". I backed the screw out a few turns and now it is perfect. TYVM Sir.

    Excellent video.
    About the directions, I didn't even realize it came with them because the insert is folded over and the directions are INSIDE the fold with nothing on the back and it appeared like a single piece of paper. It was only when I got a little oil on the paper that I was able to see the ink on the other side. A real "lightbulb" moment that was.

    Great video. One more thing, if you insert a loaded magazine there should be about 1/16" of movement of the follower for proper adjustment of the screw.

    Thanks for a good comprehensive video...I need to adjust the screw so ten rounds load the magazines...got a question...I could not find REM Oil but I have gun oil...will that be okay to squirt a little into the hopper?

  • @georgeof78

    Thanks for the info. I read the directions and adjusted it to what I thought was correct and thought it was the nature of my loader. I love the loader but sometimes I get frustrated when I would have to pump to get it to work. I will go and fine tune mine. Do you ever have wax buildup even when using rem oil? I know sometimes if I wipe it out time to time it will work better for awhile.

    Glad I found your vid and didn't give up on the McFadden. Got it tuned now and it loads like butter. One additional comment, don't squeeze 100 rounds into the hopper. 50 is what the instructions say. You can do 100 but the rounds will interfere with loading the channel. It's not such a big deal, just saying....

    Wax lubed bullets will eventually gum up the release/pinch point by the check valve. you can Disassemble and clean the whole unit using PPG DX 330 wax and grease remover. Keep the unit bagged when not in use. the Rem lube attracts dust and grit horribly and will gum the unit up. The biggest thing, which Dano commented on was keeping the unit level with the horizon line molded on. It's a gravity feed, so you need to think about that as you use it. Works as it should, if you use it correct.

    Great video and what appears to be a easy loader but I am actually trying to slow down the loading process. I have a speed loader that simply fits over the clip and holds the spring down while I drop bullets in one at a time. Even with this set up I can over heat the barrel and lose accuracy.

    There IS an adjustment on the black ballbearing thing that keeps them in. It's a allen wrench nut. You can let it out a little if it's in too far and compressing the shells and thus not allowing them to fall.

    Great vid. I have never used one of those, but I'm guessing you might be able to avoid using some much oil by using something like an acrylic polish (like for cars... Turtlewax Ice comes to mind) to smooth the surfaces inside the device while introducing negligible residue. Still, very informative vid. Thanks.

    When I wiped off all of the wax from my 22s, the bullets fell into the magazine just like in the video. But when I first tired to use the loader, before I removed the wax, I had to shake it to get the cartridges to move. So, use Remington gun oil if you don't want to remove the wax.

    I have had this for a small while now, used twice at range and about 4 times at home practicing. At some point in the beginning after watching a few videos about how to hold it, all 10 rounds slid straight down, but not since then. I don't know what is going wrong but it's not pushing the ball bearing back all the way. I even shaved down a little on the inside to make sure the magazine got all the way towards it, since the side with the ball bearing was fine but the opposite side was too short. Since it worked once I don't know what happened, but after adjusting all the screws a few times and the bearing I can get it to work only with hitting it to get it loaded. I have Mark III .22LR magazines. If anyone has advanced tips please let me know.

    I'm very interested in your input on the S&W 22 mod you've come up with. I've adjusted the well to accept the magazine, but I'm still not getting the proper feeding. I've tried all the things you've mentioned, and am still having to pump the rounds in one at a time, or they fall in vertically. Any ideas?

  • @Alpha67Wolf
    @Alpha67Wolf 3 роки тому

    I dialed in the 11th bullet problem. I used Ballistol, not Rem lube a week before shoot and almost all of the bullets didn't fire. Must have soaked into the crimp between the bullet and the bullet case. I think I'd rather go it dry from here on out. Just "HOLD LEVEL" and if it gets a little jammed, just a little shake and a slight pump. No problem.

  • @tjdinfl
    @tjdinfl 11 років тому

    Good video. One question I have is: How many rounds can you pour in it? I am assuming you do simply pour them in correct? I am assuming when you shake it around, the weight of the bullet flips them 'nose down'?

    But...one question...I have been told for more than 60 years; DON"T LUBE YOUR CARTRIDGES! BAAAAD Things will happen! Have you experienced any adverse effects from using lube on the loader or cartridges? Would a dry lube be better, do you think?

    SO, you have to spray lube on the cartridges and it's known to be a bad thing to have oil products on the case. As a matter of fact, many firearm manuals specifically mention not having oil on the bullet case.
