4k would be nice for clarity but i understand the need for 1440p because absolutely no GPU can drive 2 4k monitors (27 each) at any reasonable level of fidelity (in games) and refresh-rate. I don't even think the 4090's DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 would support that resolution for desktop use so you'd have to go AMD which would have no chance at running games with even medium settings. One thing I'll add is that these displays should REALLY move to X:10 instead of X:9 aspect ratio. I don't want a TV on my desk, that's too much vertical to the point I have to move my head up and down. But that extra 1 degree of aspect is a game changer on laptops and I think It would be wonderful on desktop as well. I think it's also more efficient with the mother-glass which would also conceivably reduce costs when these things go more mainstream. My perfect display is a 57" 2400p, 240hz qd-oled with HDR 1000. Hey bro awesome review! Just subscribed. I was wondering, as I’m most likely considering this for a Mac setup. Have you tried the USB-c port with the Mac yet? And if yes, what has that experience been like? Does it get to the full 240 and full resolution?
The USB-C ports are a data hub, from what I tried, it doesn’t offer DisplayPort alternate, which means you’ll have to use a type-c to either HDMI or DisplayPort to connect it unfortunately
@@FIREWOLFTECH Thanks for the quick reply man. I know it's a stretch but if you ever do have a USBc to display port adapter, I would really appreciate an update. Whenever you give it a try. No problem. I should've showcased some Mac footage on this video, and will be doing so in future videos. I tested my Macbook Pro 16 M2 Max with the UNI Usb-C to Displayport 1.4 cable : amzn.to/446iFiC and it works beautifully. It shows the max resolution of 5120 x 1440 and 240Hz refresh rate . As long as the USB-C cable is rated for DisplayPort 1.4 you'll be good !
I am currently running this with an M1 Macbook Pro, and I can confirm the usb-c to displayport cable works fine for getting this to run full resolution. You won't get 240hz, but that's fine for a productivity machine.
that would be two 4k monitor connected resolution. but there is no graphic card on the earth at this moment which can handle two 4K resolution at 240hz at the same time.
Im having a problem where i bought the same g9 model at best buy in CA, USA and the warranty paper says its only warranted by Samsung canada for canadian customers only. Can anyone find their warranty page and tell me if theirs is different

Can you comment on how best to use this monitor with a MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max chip? The text is crap on full res 5120 x 1440. I have a CalDigit TS4. Using their cables, but ordering real ones. Will my Mac be able to make this experience better? Nice video!
I have a love hate feeling towards 1000R lol I’m using the 57 neo g9 at the moment (review soon) that has 1000R and while it’s amazing to have it wrap around you l, I just hate how the monitor looks when you’re not looking at the screen. 1800R looks way better in my opinion. But I guess it comes down to each individual person
It comes to down to size preferences because 49 inches vs 34 inches is a huge difference. I personally would go for the G9 OLED because my desk space is very wide. If my setup was a lost smaller, then I would want the G8 OLED
In this video it was the red dragon RGB soundbar : amzn.to/40yVCvO I now use the Leviathan V2 X : amzn.to/469gRFx The leviathan definitely sounds better, but the red dragon has amazing value. If you have the budget, go for the V2X, otherwise the red dragon was great and lasted a long time
I’m planning to get that monitor and pair it with a ps5. I also play D4, do you think I’ll be able to get the widescreen playability either hdmi or with a displayport hdmi adapter?
The issue is that it will stretch the image if you play widescreen. If it was 34”, it might not look that bad, but 49” and 32:9 makes it look worse. You’re better off playing 16:9 with black bars on sides
As long as you have an NVIDIA graphics card, you could enable the performance overlay using the NVIDIA GeForce Now software. The hot keys are ALT+R or ALT+Z don’t remember lol but opening up the program you can customize a lot
@michaelhuncho9593 I didn't pay full price for the monitor I bought during a pre-order deal when it was $550 off with EDU discount and an additional $250 in Samsung credit. If money is a concern for you this isn't the monitor to buy. OLED has too many problems with dead pixels, burn-in and banding issues. I would wait until those problems are solved and the prices are cheaper. I'm going to be returning mine since I've had vertical banding issue already.
With any tech you buy there’s always that possibility of defects out the box. I haven’t experienced that with this G9 yet but at least you could always return it if it comes out defective within that return period. If it happens after that, there’s always the manufacturers warranty, if you’re still concerned about the possibility of issues, then there’s always extended warranties you could get (which I personally never get). It sucks that you went through that. I had a ROG ALLY that I unboxed earlier and had the bottom left corner damaged right out the box. It’s something that’s more likely when a product is so brand new and they rush to get as much inventory as possible. I wouldn’t let that discourage anyone from buying this monitor, it happens even to the best brands out there
distance from most left or most right and your eyes is okay? e.g. if you divide the screen into 3 windows, left one for reading, and middle for work and right for some reference. Is that a comfortable view? I want to buy it, but I am concerned about this issue. I struggle to see things if distance is longer.
For far left and far right, you would need to slightly turn your head to see (at least for me). I know if you went with the more aggressive curvature of the other G9 model (1000R) you wouldn’t have to turn your head since it wraps around your field of vision better. I personally don’t mind, and it probably depends on how close you sit from the screen
@@FIREWOLFTECH Currently I am running 2 x 31.5'' AGON AOC Monitors with a curve, one is older with a fat bezel and other has 1 inch bezel so side by side on the arm they are kind of crushed because of the 2 inch bezel! on the older one, but it works, gives you great real estate, the curvature on those monitors are if i remember it correctly 1500R, been so much itching over this idea of a one 49'' Curved monitor split screen and single screen for games
I have the other G9 but the other model, im not impressed as I use it for flight simulator and the sides are stretched out, im I’m assuming this would Be the same 🤔
Can you recommend one for work and play then? I use MS Word, browsers, and other installed programs but I want to be able to take a break and switch off to my xbox/ps5 too.
LG 38WN95C was definitely great with that added vertical space. Just keep in mind PS5/Xbox don’t fully support ultra wide, so it’s recommended to play in 16:9 with black bars
The display on the G9 OLED is better because it’s brighter and more vibrant. Form factor I believe is a matter of preference since a super ultrawide 32:9 aspect ratio is a different experience from a 16:9. When you factor in price, the LG C3 has more value. But with the C3, I find myself having to use a secondary monitor for multitasking, while the G9 OLED makes it easier to just use that one display.
You unboxed it completely wrong for anyone wondering dont touch the panel, attach the stand and pull from the stand. What he did could dmg the panel. Or maybe it all doesnt matter but its easier the right way
You’re correct. That is the easiest and safest way. I do it that way to showcase the monitor and feel how heavy the monitor is. Of course I have to be extra careful, but if you continued watching you’ll see I have the monitor laying on the actual foam piece as if it was still in the box so I can have a better shot when putting the stand on
cool review, i hate to be that guy but the whole video the only con you mentioned is the vertical resolution(i agree ofc). im happy to see a hands on review, however the whole video feels like nothing but a shill. anyways, that's just my take, you really didn't do anything besides unbox it and repeat the specs which are all listed on their website. thanks for the review, i guess.
Any help with removing the monitor from the supplied stand? ls there a correct way of doing this? I want to mount this monitor onto a monitor arm but cannot figure out how to remove it from the supplied stand, there is no info on how to do this anywhere, any advice?
Have you tried charging the core lighting settings ? There’s static color options. It could also be a firmware issue since this is a fairly new monitor so some bugs might be present
It depends, the neo G9 is going to be significantly brighter and have a more aggressive curvature. I prefer QD-OLED for it’s true blacks so I would personally go for the G9 OLED. Keep in mind I personally haven’t tried the neo g9, but I did try out the Neo G8 which has a similar mini-led panel
@@FIREWOLFTECHG9 Neo is a little bit different than G8 Neo, because it has more dimming zones per inch and it's much brighter in very bright scenes up to almost 2 times.
@@FIREWOLFTECH Personally, I haven't tried G8 Neo, but I have tried G9 Neo. The numbers are available on RTings. G8 Neo is slightly brighter than 400 nits, generally brighter (big highlights) than AW3423, for example, but some tiny highlights may be dimmer and vice versa. G9 Neo is around 760-820 nits (depending on an HDR scene) and no lower than 600 nits at 100% HDR window (AW3423 is only 250 nits). So, yes, it's quite bright, and HDR scenes are very impactful, especially explosions or the sun. For those who appreciate brightness, G9 Neo is the king in the 32:9 category (PG32UQX is even brighter, 1200-1700 nits, but it's a 32" monitor :)).
It could be the display port cable you're using. It has to be DisplayPort 1.4 or higher. I personally use this one : amzn.to/3WBAYcn Its DisplayPort 2.1 which is overkill at the moment, but it achieves the resolutions I need.
@@FIREWOLFTECH thanks I figured it out aparently the display cable that came with it is only 1.2 which is BS why would you not give me a 1.4 I spend 2knon this monitor.

I use this one : amzn.to/44kSrbC It’s by ORICO and it has 10Gbps USB 3.2 ports (2 USB C & 2 USB A) which you’ll need to supply power separately as well. It doesn’t work 100%of the time for example sometimes my PC wont recognize a USB drive, or the speeeds might be too slow, but it could also be the result of me using 2 USB 3.2 Type C extenders to get it all the way in that position since my PC is further away. It’s still helpful to have a USB hub on the left side of my desk so overall I’ve been happy with it

Hello :), can you tell me something about the colour accuracy? - Like the DCI-P3 and sRGB?
Yeah I'll keep that in mind in future videos to include those specs. PC mags did a review and they got 98% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB
Beautiful monitor, but I feel like it should be slightly taller.
this over the neo 57 inch? Or will a 57 inch or higher ppi oled come out soon?
So far the 57 for me because of the dual 4K making it so much better for productivity.
I’m hoping 2024 sees a major OLED improvement
Bro between this g9 oled and the g8 oled which you think is a better option? Thanks
It comes to down to size preferences because 49 inches vs 34 inches is a huge difference. I personally would go for the G9 OLED because my desk space is very wide. If my setup was a lost smaller, then I would want the G8 OLED
can you link your desk?
More importantly I think you need to link your wallpapers ❤️
All of these wallpapers are from WallPaper Engine (at STEAM)
Most of them are in the top rates / popular pages
whats the sound bar you are using? its sounds crispy
In this video it was the red dragon RGB soundbar : amzn.to/40yVCvO
I now use the Leviathan V2 X : amzn.to/469gRFx
The leviathan definitely sounds better, but the red dragon has amazing value. If you have the budget, go for the V2X, otherwise the red dragon was great and lasted a long time
Next video about Cable Management 😂..
🥺😅
I’m planning to get that monitor and pair it with a ps5. I also play D4, do you think I’ll be able to get the widescreen playability either hdmi or with a displayport hdmi adapter?
The issue is that it will stretch the image if you play widescreen. If it was 34”, it might not look that bad, but 49” and 32:9 makes it look worse.
You’re better off playing 16:9 with black bars on sides
As far as I know PS5 only supports 16:9
Can I ask how you had the Nvidia stats running on the top left? I've just picked up my G9 OLED and want to do some checks etc on it. Cheers
As long as you have an NVIDIA graphics card, you could enable the performance overlay using the NVIDIA GeForce Now software. The hot keys are ALT+R or ALT+Z don’t remember lol but opening up the program you can customize a lot
I've had this monitor for about 3 days and I've already experienced one vertical band on it.
bruh u paid that much I am tryna get like u. Was it worth it tho like is it worth the hype?
@michaelhuncho9593 I didn't pay full price for the monitor I bought during a pre-order deal when it was $550 off with EDU discount and an additional $250 in Samsung credit. If money is a concern for you this isn't the monitor to buy. OLED has too many problems with dead pixels, burn-in and banding issues. I would wait until those problems are solved and the prices are cheaper. I'm going to be returning mine since I've had vertical banding issue already.
@@kenngo3690 sorry for the late reply but I never knew that it had these issues already
I wouldn’t let that discourage anyone from buying this monitor, it happens even to the best brands out there
@@FIREWOLFTECH thanks for warming
distance from most left or most right and your eyes is okay?
e.g. if you divide the screen into 3 windows, left one for reading, and middle for work and right for some reference.
Micro 2.1 hdmi the same as the regular one? I dont want to keep having to switch between my ps5 and xbox
Yes it’s the same bandwidth even though it’s smaller than the regular one. It still has the same amount of pins
Which is better this or NEO G9?
I haven’t personally tried the NEO G9, but out of all the display panel, I prefer the OLED experience despite the cons
No hdmi cable in the box ?
Sadly not. I received mine yesterday and it only came with a DisplayPort cable and USB-C to USB-A adapter.
I have the other G9 but the other model, im not impressed as I use it for flight simulator and the sides are stretched out, im I’m assuming this would Be the same 🤔
Yeah it doesn’t have that aggressive 1000R curvature
Can you recommend one for work and play then? I use MS Word, browsers, and other installed programs but I want to be able to take a break and switch off to my xbox/ps5 too.
LG 38WN95C was definitely great with that added vertical space. Just keep in mind PS5/Xbox don’t fully support ultra wide, so it’s recommended to play in 16:9 with black bars
7:48 D4 support 30: 10, thats almost 32:9 and far from 21:9.
So which one do you like more? 42 C3 or this one?
Absolutely C3 because cheaper
The display on the G9 OLED is better because it’s brighter and more vibrant.
Form factor I believe is a matter of preference since a super ultrawide 32:9 aspect ratio is a different experience from a 16:9.
When you factor in price, the LG C3 has more value.
But with the C3, I find myself having to use a secondary monitor for multitasking, while the G9 OLED makes it easier to just use that one display.
Where'd you get the VESA adapter? Thanks!
The monitor comes with it.
Of course I have to be extra careful, but if you continued watching you’ll see I have the monitor laying on the actual foam piece as if it was still in the box so I can have a better shot when putting the stand on
Any problems or dead pixel?
No dead pixels or problems 🔥
The video I’ve been waiting to see from someone! How you finding the image retention with normal work use?
@@FIREWOLFTECH awesome mine still hasn’t been shipped yet but I’m super excited! Thank you for the amazing vid
@@Shabekco I haven’t noticed any image retention. And I appreciate the comment 🙏🏽
@@justinparkkyung4287 you’re welcome !! I appreciate that. What monitor have you been using so far ?
cool review, i hate to be that guy but the whole video the only con you mentioned is the vertical resolution(i agree ofc). im happy to see a hands on review, however the whole video feels like nothing but a shill. anyways, that's just my take, you really didn't do anything besides unbox it and repeat the specs which are all listed on their website. thanks for the review, i guess.
You’re welcome and I appreciate your feedback.
Hi! Is this a glossy screen or matte? Thanks.
It’s glossy
@@FIREWOLFTECH Thank you. By the way, you reviewed the LG UltraGear 45" OLED before this - of the two, which would you prefer?
@@inconvenientfacts58 as a daily monitor, the G9 OLED by far, but for exclusive gaming, the LG 45 has a more immersive experience that I like better.
There's no way DP1.4 can run 240hz on that resolution and especially not with 10bit HDR. Did you even check?
Uhh yes it can, the same as the previous generation G9 that I have used for years. It uses lossless compression to achieve this (DSC)
@@sorvex9It's not absolutely lossless (some details are lost) but it can run 240 hz HDR 10+
I literally just got the G9 oled and honestly I’m not impressed with the display (it has been like 3hrs since I got it)
what did you use before ?
How’s the text clarity fringed issue from previous Samsung qd-oled?
It’s pretty similar to other QD-OLED since the resolution is similar. It doesn’t bother me though
How do you turn on the led light in the back
It’s in the menu settings, should be under gaming, and then you’ll see core lighting
Any help with removing the monitor from the supplied stand? ls there a correct way of doing this? I want to mount this monitor onto a monitor arm but cannot figure out how to remove it from the supplied stand, there is no info on how to do this anywhere, any advice?
If i remember correctly, you can angle the stand upwards and try to pull it out in the opposite direction
@@FIREWOLFTECH Thanks for this, I will give it a try!
How would a Rtx 3060 Ti fair with this monitor? anyone have experience?
I would look into 1440P performances on your 3060Ti. It should do good
hey, what program is it to have moving wallpapers on my desktop? Thanks
wallpaper engine, its on steam for like $4. Worth it 🔥
What mount is that???And desk???
Mount is by AVLT : amzn.to/3ylos5A
Desk is by VIVO : amzn.to/3O0Fz5p
Is it 4K ? I got 2 32” 4K but thinking to switch to these 2 !! Lmk if it’s 4K or not thanks
It’s not 4K, it’s 1440P
4k doesnt exist in this form factor, its 1 million pixels shy of 4k
I have the monitor and the rgb ring set to core sync doesnt work well, still getting mostly blue light when mirroring the screen.
Have you tried charging the core lighting settings ? There’s static color options.
It could also be a firmware issue since this is a fairly new monitor so some bugs might be present
@@FIREWOLFTECH no apprently this issue plagues the G8 oled and G9 Neo
Is it better than the neo g9 just curious?
It depends, the neo G9 is going to be significantly brighter and have a more aggressive curvature. I prefer QD-OLED for it’s true blacks so I would personally go for the G9 OLED. Keep in mind I personally haven’t tried the neo g9, but I did try out the Neo G8 which has a similar mini-led panel
@@FIREWOLFTECHG9 Neo is a little bit different than G8 Neo, because it has more dimming zones per inch and it's much brighter in very bright scenes up to almost 2 times.
@@socialreport2836 I remember the NEO G8 being very bright, I can only imagine how bright the neo g9 gets 😅
Hopefully you replaced that smoke detector battery.
YES. That was the first time it started 🙄 replaced all the batteries. Can’t have that ruining my Audio lol
How does text look with this monitor?
For coding it's pretty bad, for browsing you must use a bigger text because it has fringes.
A very nice monitor but FYI OLED screens are not made for heavy use.
Would you recommend the avlt mount? Im devating if I should get avlt or ergotron lx
AVLT is cheaper, and it’s worked on so many monitors/TVs. The heaviest I did was a SONY A90K 42inch which was almost 30lbs
I also like the 2 USB 3.0 port, super convenient

Can a 4070 be use with this?
It def can !
I'm assuming my rtx 3070 would struggle pushing high refresh rates
It depends on the game of course and the graphics settings, but yeah it’ll be pushed to its limits lol
i think 4080/ 4090 would be a better fit for this monitor overall
@@quaticus it will definitely be amazing for this monitor, but since this is 1440P, I think 30-series should be ok
why cant i get my monitor to show 240hz it only shows 60 and 120. I have a display port cable so not sure whats going on, and i have a 4090 gpu
It could be the display port cable you're using. It has to be DisplayPort 1.4 or higher. I personally use this one : amzn.to/3WBAYcn
Its DisplayPort 2.1 which is overkill at the moment, but it achieves the resolutions I need.
@@FIREWOLFTECH thanks I figured it out aparently the display cable that came with it is only 1.2 which is BS why would you not give me a 1.4 I spend 2knon this monitor.
@@MicahLWebb I’m glad you got it to work. I don’t use cables that come with these monitors because I prefer getting higher quality cables so that’s good to know if someone else runs into this
im running cyberpunk at 5120 x 1440 on a 49 inch monitor and it is soooo laggy.
i dont know why my desktop is really good. here are the specs
* Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900F 2.00 GHz
* Ram: 32gb
*NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
can someone tell me why its lagging??
I'm not sure to be honest, have you tried a different game ? And what were you using before ?
what's the usb hub you have on your desk?
I use this one : amzn.to/44kSrbC
It’s by ORICO and it has 10Gbps USB 3.2 ports (2 USB C & 2 USB A) which you’ll need to supply power separately as well.
