    Beautiful. I am so glad you are sharing your beautiful traditions with us. We are Native, but our families moved away from Oklahoma years before I was born. I never got to meet any of them until about 15 years ago. I kinda feel cheated, because when I go to places, like drum circles or the ancient ruins in Arizona and Utah, I get overwhelmed with emotions. It's like I can feel our ancestors and see how they lived in my minds eye. Thank You for sharing with us. 😊

      Many Indigenous are coming together as a result of the horrific crimes perpetrated in Residential Schools. I know their are various dances. But, to come together and perform ritualistic 'War Dances' is disgusting, and hypocritical. I am offended!
      The Warriors, head dresses, war paint, and their War Dances, are all a celebration of the slaughter, scalping, rape, torture, enslavement, and often times cannibalization, of a differing tribe or race. These dances, and make up, should be criminalized! But it is rationalized as celebrating culture.
      To celebrate Hitlers birthday would also be celebrating culture. A very offensive culture.
      Hypocrisy defined!

      @@cookingWithAKid360 I actually live in the Maritimes now. It's been more than 20 years since I've been back to Sask, but in my youth I lived in Fort Qu'Appelle and Moose Jaw. My Mum would take me to the pow wows to experience the food and culture (which I was deeply enamoured with). I do like where I live now, but fondly remember the Prairies and still call myself a "Flatlander" to this day. There are still moments when, as sunlight warmly touches my skin, I'll close my eyes and remember standing on those hills. Being under the great big sky and looking out across the Prairie watching the wheat rolls in the wind, stretching out to the horizon. I bit of grandiose romanticism I suppose, but fond memories often are!

      It's a traditional First Nation dance, I know it might sound funny but it's very disrespectful to say that whether joking or not

    • @luvvvdr3w
      @luvvvdr3w 3 роки тому +7

      Be more respectful. If you don’t like it, don’t clickit.

    • @Vardegas
      @Vardegas 3 роки тому

      @@luvvvdr3w why? The fact it is "tradition" does not mean it automaticly deserves respect. I watched it because it was recommended to me. And it was dissapointment

    • @rhondasruminationsonreading
      @rhondasruminationsonreading 3 роки тому +9

      The skill this style of dancing takes is amazing. If it's not your style, fine, but don't disrespect someone else's culture and something that is obviously a passion and requires great skill just because you don't understand it.

    • @Vardegas
      @Vardegas 3 роки тому

      @@rhondasruminationsonreading i dont see any "amazing" skills there. An i will repeat myself, but the fact it is a tradition, does not maky it any special nor it is a reason to praise it
