      Oddly enough there was, and on a Sunday to boot - while having lunch with my six older brothers. Everyone was scared.

    I absolutely agree with you those albums produced by George Young and Harry Vanda was the REAL ac/dc!!!! While their revival with Brian Johnson is nothing short of incredible I still think Bon was irreplaceable.

    There would be no AC/DC without Malcolm. Obviously, Harry and George played an unmistakably huge part. Anyone wanting to know more about AC/DC should check out the very small book, "Why AC/DC Matters". Awesome read. Thank you for taking time out of your life to make this video!! I love your lessons.

    It is hard to say who the " best" guitar player is due to the 'many styles'.. people without any real music knowledge think that a great guitar player is some one who regurgitates a million notes a second.. I have this argument all of the time..The simplicity of AC/DC riffs is "The Magic" . Malcoms' groove would have me and my friends banging heads back in the late seventies when I was a teenager ( Typical basement -black light-black light posters- lots of weed 🙄🙄🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣!!!) AAAHHH 😏😏 The great times!! I want to be a kid again 🙄🙄🙄😂😂😂!!! Thank you for the lessons.. You are a phenomenal guitar player and wonderful teacher !! Stay safe !!

    Excellent attention to detail! Your key strength as a tutor is that you understand the idiosyncrasies of each guitarist, in my opinion. Malcolm and Keith Richards sometimes lamented that no one other than AC/DC and The Stones played the “roll” in rock n roll, meaning the swing syncopation rhythm. “Bad Boy Boogie” is a fascinating example of this. You can play the riff with a swing drum track and it sounds phenomenal. Then switch the drums to the straight rhythm and you get something reminiscent of the trick The Stones used in “Midnight Rambler”. (Incidentally, AC/DC’s “She’s Got Balls” is a similar riff to BBB but more syncopated.) I thought you would enjoy thinking about this given how much you enjoy analysing guitarists’ personalities. Anyway, you have given Malcolm a lovely tribute. On behalf of AC/DC fans, I thank you.

      Gone shootin has an awesome groove to it. Once you learn how to play it you just get in the zone and fucking groove to that tune all night. I looked at heaps of tabs and watched heaps of different covers. I learnt a few different ways to play it. I had a little help from my guitar teacher but after he showed me one way i picked up the other two ways my self.

    I just love that you get AC/DC....Let There Be Rock & Powerage!!!! I was fortunate enough to see them with Bon 4 times....yeah I'm old. People always say Bon was the best front man ever, those who say that never saw him, he wasn't the best front man, but he was the best lyricist and vocalist. He was an ok front man.....Angus was always the front man of AC/DC.

    The Easybeats were playing more of a pop sound, but placing them of the context of popular music at the time, they were pretty rockin and wrote great riffs. Check out the early hit of theirs 'Sorry', and the chuga chuga of the rhythm guitar and feedback on the lead. It was a new sound. Link: ua-cam.com/video/drNqZWzj5GY/v-deo.html
    Vanda and Young wrote and produced a ton of big hits performed by other artists down here in Australia, from heavy rockers, to beautiful sweet stuff, to disco. Those two were also the rhythm and lead players in the above track. Cool as!, those two. Malcolm and Angus must have picked up a ton of tips from listening to their older brothers and their band mates.

      @ShutupAndPlayGuitarTutorials  5 років тому

      Yeah, I guess it all depends on what you like. I like them both. Love the rawness of Powerage, but also love the tightness of Highway To Hell. For me, Mutt is one of the greatest producers ever to come down the pike. I read a Bryan Adams interview once where he said that if his mother was a singer, Mutt would make her a star! Haha. Cheers

      Shutup & Play - guitar tutorials yeah I guess it's subjective but for me let there be rock and powerage they just have something hth doesn't. If you listen to if you want blood the album the way they sound that night in Glasgow sounds in my opinion more polished than the let there be rock Paris live show. But the auditorium could be the reason for the sound difference. I love powerage I think its their best and time will prove that I think.
      Great tutorial by the way.

    • @ShutupAndPlayGuitarTutorials
      @ShutupAndPlayGuitarTutorials  5 років тому +1

      Yeah, I hear ya. If I had to choose between the two, it'd be Powerage. I like the songs on both but it really comes down to raw vs polished. Thing is selling records is a business and Mutt's sound and approach has sold millions for all kinds of different artists. Powerage sales in the US was platinum, 1M where as Highway To Hell was 7X that at 7M. Some of that has to do with the stage of evolution of the band but a lot of it has to do with ML's production which has always been extremely radio friendly. Of course none of that matters really, what you like or don't like is entirely subjective. Record companies don't really care about anything but sales. They analyze the numbers and go with what works the best, just like any other business would do right? Cheers
