You've been adding some really interesting shows to my watch list, it's been a while since I've last watched an anime, but it seems like I'll be coming back to some pretty cool series thanks to you! 😁
Interesting fact, in one episode there was a guy who was constantly thirsty and saw visions of rainbows. These are real life symptoms of damage to the pituitary gland. I wonder how many other Mushi in the show are based on real medical phenomena.
Quite a few actually. It helps make the myths feel real when you see real problems tie into the mushi and how well they make them make sense in the world they build in the show.
I stopped meditating after i found a living one-eyed black liquid drop in a dark oil-flooded corner of my mind. So yeah meditate if you wanna see real mushi
Mushishi is ALWAYS the greatest anime in my opinion, highly recommended! Watching it is like a medicine for your heart and mind, Ginkgo's gentle and warm heart will make you feel being cured. And the soundtrack is amazing as well. Overall this is a masterpiece for me, always feel mental peace and warm and many other emotion after watching it.
I missed Mushishi very much. Went through life studying, working, workouts with friends, thinking once in a while about Mushishi. Thank you for the review. I’ll revisit the amime, and is happy to find out that there is a season 2.
I just started watching Mushishi, because I wanted to try something new. This video describes the anime greatly, you summoned up the main informations and told important things that are nice to know ^^ Great job, love it!! My opinion: Mushishi is really magical cup of tea, but I don't think that everyone can find the magic and enjoyment in it. It is really slow, but that makes it relaxing. I feel like I am in other world when I watch it. Ginko and Mushi are interesting, I'm excited to watch more of this piece 💫
I found this old anime years ago when I was having a horrible time in my life... it seriously was a warm calming cozy life raft that I could hang on to and forget everything else just for a short while. In a way Ginko kept me sane. So many emotions flow through while watching. I can only recommend this to people by knowing or asking if they truly like a relaxing calming mystery. You did it justice with this video! Would love to see more on it from you... Ill sub just incase 😊
i personally got hooked right from episode 2. When i first watched it I thought it was so unique and different I instantly fell in love. Now after its been a few years, its my 2nd favourite anime of all time and i wish there was more of it. I watched all of it, and i gave it all 10/10. The specials and the movies were amazing as well, the show has such a unique calming vibe. I also cried many times while watching it because of the stories told in an episodic matter. That's why its so amazing and its a shame its not that popular.
Your voice; which is youthful soft and calming, and the background music you used, are literally the best combination for a recommendation /'introduction' video into the world of Mushishi. Thank you, even though i already watched the series before coming across your video. Definitely going to watch it again.
I loved watching this anime so much! Pro tip tho: don't go beyond watching two episodes a day (unless you REALLY want to) and save watching them for evenings when it's dark and quiet. This anime really likes to make you think, and it just doesn't mesh well with a loud, lively environment.
I came to this video late but I watched Mushi-shi a few years ago cause it was on Netflix (and I may have accidentally watched the 2nd season, I don’t think it was the 1st). Needless to say it was a super peaceful and calming experience for me every time I watched an episode. I remember one time I was watching it late at night and I felt so serene that I was falling asleep… it wasn’t a bad thing at all, I really agree with what you said about how they use sound in this series. It’s such a beautiful anime. I really wanna watch it again, it was quite therapeutic ❤️ thanks for this summary!
What kind, observant and accurate words to ddedicate to mushishi! This anime has been one of my, if not my absolute, favourite anime ever, and you do it justice by stating what its appeals are while keeping it spoiler free and understandable, and in such a short amount of time! and oh god this might be the first time I hear ginko's patience being addressed like, EVER- thank you for this, I hope it makes newcomers watch this amazing anime!
It's been a few years since I first watched Mushishi. I fell in love with the soundtrack that I always have it playing in the background whenever I'm doing something on the pc. I even have the full soundtrack on my phone so I can listen to it while I'm commuting. It's always been one of my all time favorite anime and I still re-watch the series every now and then ❤️
I watched this finally after searching mushishi and listening to the OST a ton, love to see someone else who loves to gush about Ginko and this unique and special anime!
I found this anime when I tried to find an anime that has no romance content inside (kinda bored by lovey dovey things XD)... And BLAM! I really love the atmosphere and the musics (sometimes cried because the unfortunate events inside the story). I usually watched 1 or 2 episodes when I want to go to sleep because it's like a magical fairy tale and contains many moral messages (some are depressing too like the 'mud grass' episode 😩).
I like how slow pace mushishi is, it make me sleepy whenever i watch it on afternoon or even at night. In this season i think the anime with the same vibe as mushishi is super cub, due the slow pace yet enjoyable show
I just started watching it and I really like it, it's actually the first anime where I thought something was creepy! but it's still a peaceful anime. Also I love that you used a hollow knight soundtrack!
After looking the first Season 2010 i've hope that sometimes a second season would come. nobody can imagin how i was excited after the anouncement for the specials and at least for the second Season. Ginkos judging, to be critical and gentle/kind in both time + the empathic viewsetting for both human and mushi is mindblowing. To watch the first season was so overwhelming for me, it takes rly severly weeks to finish it but after the finish.. its like a trip and for sure lifechanging. Ginko is my hero. The music from toshio masuda is timeless and fits 101% to this. i'm very glad that i have found the songs an can listen to it for my whole life
This is the first anime I ever watched and will always be my #1 favorite I believe. It calms me down and just makes me feel okay. It’s like the calm in nothing. Unbothered I guess. Idk. Just really enjoy it.
I haven't seen it in some years now, but Mushishi is one of my absolute favorites. Not really a show made for binging imo, but perfect for watching a different episode every other night under a blanket when the seasons get colder and the SAD kicks in lol
Man your voice is great, your videos are awesome and recommendations are worth keeping in watchlist.. splendid work🙌🏼 I hope your channel grows and gets the attention it deserves :)
Thank you so much! That's very kind of you. I have fun making my videos regardless of how many people watch them, but I'm really glad that you enjoy them! :)
I only just now finished it. Tried watching it as a young teen just getting into anime and didnt get it. I wanted an action series at the time. Now i do get it.
Same here. As I've grown more and more I've fallen in love with dialogue driven and at atmospheric animes that tell a journey rather than fights every episode.
i watched mushishi earlier this month by pure chance and at first i almost dropped it because i was unused to the slow and peaceful feeling of it but wow am i glad i continued watching :)
3:37 You just yawned didn't you ? I want to add something I heard someone else saying about Mushishi that, while not 100% agreeing with, I find relevant : "Ginko isn't the protagonist, Nature is"
Randomly found mushishi one day and put it on my watch list. Years later, I actually tried it and well, it's peaceful. Like I didn't think I would like it and that opening still doesn't hit with me but it's a watch for sure
Every time i recommend this one i tell people its boring but beautiful and bizzare. I guess because most of my interactions are with naruto and dragonball fans who need a dopamine hit from watching dudes beat eachother up
Unfortunately, this show is running so late that I can never really watch it, but I will record it in the future. The pictures are so beautiful, I almost didn't care for the story, but after a few episodes, I began to love the protagonist, so will watch it in the future.
Yeah and Ginko isn't perfect just realized it in the 4th episode the whole thing was depressing, I am watching it currently, thanks for the recommendation, Watched this video some year ago. And found it out in the history. I am currently watching it. Thanks.
This is a difficult anime to watch… I fell in love with it before I was immersed and then felt a deep depression before I knew what happened. I was taken away by personal experiences that inhibited many enjoyable moments in my life. My explanation is terrible but the point is that I love this show yet it hit me in a way that almost made me feel worse. I expected better and I can sympathize with others opinions. In the end I own this anime and love it to bits but by all means it’s cool yet taxing. It will eat u apart and take ur opinion for granted. P.s I’m not sorry
I know I’m late but mushi -shi is a good anime but I only got so far in the first season it’s to slow so if your a person who likes less action or older types of anime then this is the anime for you

I think the songwriter was taking advantage of the fact the audience wouldn't understand English very well. I thought, "well, they'll never get a song as good as that!" But, they replaced it with "Shiver" by Lucy Rose, and it's just as good a song, with decent lyrics. I'd like to shake the hand of the person who made these musical choices!

Mushishi has this kind of calm and peaceful vibe that makes me keep on going back and wanting to experience it again.

I wish the second season was in dub. I honestly don't know where to watch the second season

One of my favorite aspects are the ability to send messages to other Mushishi through the Uro passages, using the cocoons.
