Hi Howard, my dad used to race power boats on Porirua harbour in Wellington NZ back in the late 50's and early 60's, his boat was powered by a screaming Plymouth flat head 6 that he modified with triple carbs on a log manifold amongst other things, apparently it went extremely well and could beat the v8's on some courses, because it could turn into the corners tighter. I think the boat is still about today. I wish we had more photos like yours to look at. Dad sold the boat before i was born, and he told me about it in later years.
Phil NZ
See if there are any NZ power boat groups on face book, you might find someone with some photos of your dad’s boat. I got a real good response here in Australia
Loving the pics of the old fords and yr history behind them all, keep'm coming
Thanks Barney, plenty more to come
Brings back some great memories of a misspent youth Howard.
Hi Pat, getting into the interesting stuff now
@@AstillDesign can't wait Howard.

Glad to hear it!
Love the pic of the Monaro in the parade at Broken Hill, with the XY boot spoiler!
Yeah that ones a classic
Cheers Howard good to see a die hard Blue Blood on the Tube. My Dad was in spare parts here in Canberra for a hell of a long time, even in his 80's he can still rattle off part numbers up until the early 80s'. Thanks to him I'm a Blue Blood too. Moffat's Boss 302 was the original that mage me go WOW as a young kid (it's still the best BTW).
Thanks Steve, blue through and through

This is good to watch but also great for your grandkids and even their children.
They have a chance to hear your life story.
I've always thought I should at least write down my autobiography for my kids.
Yes I wish my dad wrote his down
@@AstillDesign my exact thoughts with my grandfather....
So many questions I wish I asked.
I will be seen my dad again soon, he has some issues and told me he isn't feeling right.
Men in that generation never really spoke about themselves and definitely not their feelings.
Anyways,
Keep up the great work mate.
I've been following way back when you showed removing bonnet skins.
And I love hearing you say the C and H words.😁
Another great episode

Nice one mate. Looking forward to the next one.👍

Sure is!
Rock 4 is one of my favorite../ micro fish....cool series...like .
Just the beginning
Wondered the other day in van 'extra' clip why she was going from brown back to green. Questioned answered.
Cheers Trevor
Growing up i had rock 2,3,4 on my bedroom walls, I had escort parts all over mums and dads patio mum was always upset with my grubby hand prints everywhere and she used to say you'll never meet a good sort covered in grease all the time, but I did meet a good shelia one night at the speedway covered in grease pit crewing for a mate and i still spend many a night in the shed fiddling with the xr but my passion for it started by staring at the rock cars and for that i thank you Howard, you have always been my inspiration for it mate and im lovin these history vids keep em coming 👍
Geez, that’s so nice of you to share. Being a car enthusiast is a pretty good way of life.
I miss the days when you could run over transom headers on your boat and nobody called the cops!.
yes mate, 70's were the go for so many things.
These are killer mate. Not to be rude, but i never quite realised how old you are. But bloody hell, you were built like a brick shithouse back in the day mate. And still looking great now.
Thanks mate, been up and down over the years. Working hard on the fitness at the moment.
Not even going to ask what you got up to with that long hair & the Van....
Was some good times
