Excellent marlinspike seamanship skill and artistry work. Your legacy lives on through your teachings. Time flies by just watching your work. Thanks for sharing.
My wife really likes the music you choose for your videos. I really appreciate the care you use in making sure every move is clearly shown. You ae a very good teacher. Thank you.
Mikko, Thank you very much for teaching this beautiful job, I will do it for my tools at home. From South America, Chile, thanks again, you are very kind in sharing your gift with us.
The start of the wrap looks like the most confusing part, then it doesn't look so bad. Thanks Mikko, I've been looking for a good wrap for my wire snips.
Happy to see this hitching which I love. Glad to see you are still making new teaching video. Waiting to hear you are able to take orders again. I still need a Finnfid when all is well with you. Judy
Perfect timing, I was just look at my sad little pliers thinking I needed new grips for them. Was going to buy a can of that rubber stuff but doung this instead, thank you!
I know this video is older, but I’d be interested in how you have improved the cutters so they work so well? Do you have a video on these improvements? Or a discription somewhere? Thank you
I have 2 tools with those rubber "ergonomic" (ergo, not worth a darn) handles, and both are loose. This is perfect. About the polisher...plywood? Melamine surface?
@@tomkenney5365 That is the idea. You need to wax or starch the cord for polishing anyways. I use wet spun yarn for cordage so the cord don´t have too much stray fibers to begin with.
Mikko, Howdy; Truly enjoy your How to videos, Question, perhaps 2, What is the block you use to Polish the cord made from? Also are you selling a Kit to do this with, cutters included? Checked your website and couldn't find them.
Mikko, Howdy; another question. At the beginning you show measuring of the cord. You wrap a full length then double and add a bit of good luck (~6 inches). Is that for 1 handle or for both? I ask as you already have 1 handle wrapped at the beginning of the video. Thanks for all you do to help us.
I tried to email you thru facebook about getting a pair of those cutters, but I'm not sure that it went thru. If you don't see it on facebook, I hope that you can get me the info about getting a pair. Thanks Mikko, Jim F.

Think the beginning as a turks head, not too difficult, I hope. Good luck!
Beautiful! And just what I need for my pliers. Thank you so much for the lovely video and very clear instructions 😊

Beautiful work Mikko.

Any hardwood will do.
@@mikkosnellman And this smoothes down stray fibers, I gather? Scraping separates the fibers so they wrap around and hold the 'standing' part better?

Was that "A whiter shade of pale"?
Sure it was. 😁

Any piece of hardwood will do, I use birch plywood. If you need cutters, email me.
@@mikkosnellman Howdy; Ordered earlier to day. Thank You. But what is the covering on the plywood? A linoleum or some sort of rubber?
@@hankh1610 That just happens to be a piece of plywood I had, covered with phenolic film.
@@mikkosnellman Ok, I can find some plywood, cut my own. Thanks.
I could watch you tie all day!
Very nice Sr

That is for one handle.
Awesome as always! Thank you.
Can you also show how you made that nice Turks Head Bracelet? Looks very nice!
There are lots of videos on TH bracelets but maybe someday...
@@mikkosnellman But those don't have such a neat opening/closing mechanism like yours seems to have!
@@aurelkohler1209 Oh, that is nothing else but cord ends tied to a Matthew Walker knot.

Awesome. Thanks! I'll have to check my stock.
Did you ever do a video of the bracelet you are wearing? I made one on my arm but had a hiccup finishing it. Maybe someday.
Maybe, though I believe there must be a tutorial already somewhere...
Mikko, did you grind the back of those pliers flush, for a close cut or did you buy them like that?
No, these come to me ready to use. I do sell them with the cord for handles for €15 including shipping.

Video is great. Thanks for the awesome lesson.
Try a more upbeat tunes next time. Depression starts with music like this.
Will do, though I find the music relaxing... 😁
mikko snellman I do too, but I'm fond of any kind of classical guitar 😉
Love your music picks, Mikko. This song is very relaxing.
Mellow is good.
