My Opinion On Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope - Rayman DLC Announcement

- So, Rayman appears to be back, but his return is not quite how I imagined.
While I applaud Ubisoft's decision to include Rayman as a character in any non-Rayman game, the overall timing, and the fact that there were no new main Rayman games since 2013 leaves me less enthusiastic than I would normally be otherwise.
Ubisoft should have teased some Rayman project alongside this DLC announcement just as Activision announced both Crash being in Skylanders Imaginators and that HD Remakes were in the development back in 2016 on E3.
Ah well, hoping for the best.

I think ports of Rayman 1-3 on all morden consoles + PC would be excellent. It's weird how Ubisoft was so dedicated to port all Rayman games to every platform possible back then, to just.. nothing now

I hope we do get some interactions between Rayman and Mario at least but yeah, I still dunno if this will be the only bone they throw to Rayman or if they’re indeed interested in reviving the series.

I've pretty much covered it briefly on Twitter. I'm personally pumped for Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Starring Rayman in a sense that it could potentially be the start of something brand new such as future releases of new ports, remasters and remakes. While we already have Rayman Redemption on the unnoficial fan community aspect on the matter, an official remaster or remake of the original Rayman from the ground up would be a perfect example and would actually be really sick to see how it could potentially pan out! I can almost picture a complete redraw of the original graphics in a new light that look much better than the UbiArt engine art style for Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends plus vastly improved gameplay mechanics (that should clearly go without saying hence common sense) as it would create a whole brand new distinctive vibe all round 100% worthy of an epic comeback that could either set the franchise up for a proper continuation with an actual Rayman 4 or work as a side project to the potential new game in question! I would also be in favour of a Rayman Revolution port optimised with better framerate or a straight up remaster or remake of Rayman Revolution in place of Rayman 2 The Great Escape in terms of remaster/remake continuity if the first game gets the remaster/remake treatment and same could also be said for Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc if a potential Rayman 2 Revolution remaster/remake pans out well! It would be really cool to see that in action and to even see Rayman Revolution properly optimised for the PC outside of PCSX2 like the Jak And Daxter The Precursor Legacy PC port project would be lit as fuck 'n' all. We'll have to see how all this plays out, taking into account that UbiSoft legit have a terrible track record with all the illogical business decisions that no one in their right minds could possibly wrap their heads around. It would have been a smarter approach for them to let Activision's approach with the official announcement of the Crash Bandicoot remasters alongside showcasing Skylanders Imaginators Crash Edition at the Sony PlayStation E3 2016 Press Conference be a lesson and also an inspiration to them instead of having fuck all to announce for potential projects in the pipeline like UbiSoft just did with just a visual Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Starring Rayman adventure DLC guest cameo appearance announcement with nothing else to go with it for good measure at UbiSoft Forward 2022. Sales department have a potential flop hence the whole season pass giving consumers automatic ownership of the DLC for those that purchase all games complete with all content by instinct. On top of that it also partially seems like an extortion tactic as part of a deal Nintendo and UbiSoft have made in order to reel Rayman fans in if they ever want to see a future for the franchise and not only does it seem like a repeat of the whole misadvertised Wii U timed exclusive port in attempts for Nintendo and UbiSoft to extort fans into purchasing a Wii U in hopes to bump up console sales then stabbing them in the back by making it a multiplatform release all of a sudden, it's also like they're backpedaling to their old ways with Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 with the Wii and DS exclusive releases and even then future releases for Rayman that followed up still became multiplatform again afterwards and now it's the exact same case with the Nintendo Switch so no surprise if that’ll be the case hence this is clearly not the first time they've pulled such asinine, arse/ass backwards bulshit like that with how they keep slipping into such a pattern. Not only is it a pattern but they've only gone and pulled a full circle with how they went from having Rayman Raving Rabbids created as a spin-off for the Rayman franchise in compensation of the cancelled Rayman 4 to the Rabbids making their own franchise out of it all the way back to Rayman making a guest cameo appearance in the new title for the Mario + Rabbids spin off series as DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope. For me personally it’s not a problem for my situation, but I legit can't help but sympathise for those that don’t own a Switch especially during this time period with this whole fiasco of a scenario. History just can't stop repeating itself whenever it comes to Nintendo and UbiSoft with how they handle their partnership status and it's so shambolic, it's taking the piss. It's bad enough for those that don't own a Switch, but to rub it in their faces and make their expenditure significantly larger to fork out for one being solely dependant on whether or not they actually want to see a future for the franchise period is going way too far and is taking the piss to the next level. On a separate note, I can at least stipulate that it would be cool to play a new adventure with Rayman period regardless of being a third party feature just like with the first brand new adventure with Crash Bandicoot for the first time in 8 years with Skylanders Imaginators Crash Edition plus the fact that I'm also really glad that the David Gasman voice for Rayman also made a comeback instead of replacing it with a generic rabbid voice like in RRR2 on top of that. Until further notice this is what we'll have to put up with for now and potentially something amazing can come out of it as a result in the case of it panning out according to plan, expectation and anticipation. At this point it’s too early to call exactly what UbiSoft’s plans are for the future. All we can do now is act on the present in service of the best potential outcome, wait patiently and hope for the best. Only time will tell... 😎

I've been hoping and wishing for Rayman to make an appearance in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope but now my hope and wish has officially happened to come true! This game is really going to bring sparks of hope as it will be a very fun blast much like it's predecessor. Now because of that, Rayman must have a new 3D installment for his franchise.

I never grew up with Mario, and the only Mario game I own is Mario oddysey, Real time strategy games were always boring for me, not even sure if mario + rapids is even real time, but whatever.
I'm so desperate for a new Rayman title, I would actually buy Sparks of hope just for Rayman, because how else can we show support?
It's not like they listen to us whenever we ask for a new game.
It's a shame Rayman is owned by Ubisoft, wish some other company bought him out, so hopefully we could actually start seeing new games.
