The way she holds that last note with the guitar is haunting yet utterly beautiful. For millions, Lauper is merely the girl who just wanted to have fun, however for many of her fans she is one of the most underrated vocalists in the game and has been for 40 years

I am sitting here absolutely stunned that just now in 2023 as a 50 yr old I am experiencing just how profoundly talented Cyndi Lauper truly is.
I mean...wow...fkn wow! All these years I considered her a talented pop star icon from my youth but never understood the depth of the emotion she puts into each song (except time after time) and the unbelievable control she has over her voice. She is nothing short of a master. A stunningly beautiful master.

The way she performs this song is perfection. That ending is sublime, kinda hypnotizing, it sucks me out of reality for a moment. Cyndi is one of the greatest, most talented artists out there and continues to prove it with every new thing she does. I love her!

It never ceases to amaze me how much pop stars' talents are underrated. Most people think vocalists are incapable of nailing songs outside of their usual genre but, the proof is in the pudding. I love your interpretation of this song. Nicely done! This video & your "If You Go Away" video reminded me of Donna Summer. People just thought of her as the Queen of the dreaded Disco Era; yet her renditions of "MacArthur Park" & "I Will Go With You (Con Te Partiro)" are stellar- May She RIP. I have to admit, I used to think Cindy Lauper was an uninteresting pop star and her songs were shallow pop. But this live album in general and the song above all blows me away. How awesome is that?

I've always loved her and the music! This is my childhood idol well one of them musically. With that being said, the gentleness and fragileness of her voice really makes this song special. I love this version and discovered it while watching the Netflix show. Gypsy. The Gypsy soundtrack has so many artists that I love like Cyndi Lauper, Patti Smith and Stevie Nicks. ❤

Just flat-out great. And how about THAT BAND? Dear God it's so nice to hear some grown-ups play once in a while who utilize silence as the loudest instrument in the band. So effective, so easy to do, requires no practice, doesn't cost a dime or use batteries or require upgrading ever. The only difficult part? Finding ANYONE who grasps the concept. If it was Cyndi who came up with this arrangement this puts her in a whole different category of genius. Does anyone know if this is her doing?
Hi! I attended this tour. The guy in the back with black hair, I think his name is Walt Whitman (I'm horrible with names), helps her develop the music for many of the songs. She knows the sound she wants and her band helps her get there.
