    Thanks. The video made it clear that the 5 is not worth the extra. I like your use of the word 'huge' all the time, but all the differences you mention are tiny.
    1/4 and 1/8 outputs are likely to be identical in terms of quality. Except using only the left output will confine you to mono.I really don't know what you are talking about on this. Perhaps your specific UA-cam video creation setup is colouring your judgment a bit.
    More importantly, both have usb audio out, which will be by far the best way to record.
    The speakers on the 3 and 5 are both fairly poor, and a separate amplifier or headphones is a must for me, at least.
    Anyone who is at all interested in vocals won't be using the keyboard's budget preamps. They will run vocals separately.
    Not trying to be argumentative. I just have a different set of priorities.

    The Roland Go Keys 3 has a stereo out 3.5mm headphone connector. It is stereo. In what way is the it lower quality than the 1/4 left and right connectors on the Go Keys 5? Is dual 1/4 inch higher quality because it look bigger and you're guessing, or there a spec from Roland or a youtube demonstrating that the Go Keys 5 offers higher fidelity "clean sound"? I would think that would be a big marketing point for the Go Keys 5 but Roland isn't saying it.

      @@davidmeo1 The video you highlights the differences in connectivity options between the Roland GOKEYS-3 and GOKEYS-5 keyboards. Although both models offer a range of features, the GOKEYS-5 stands out for its superior connectivity.
      Key Differences:
      Headphone Socket Issue with GOKEYS-3:
      The GOKEYS-3 features only a 1/8-inch headphone socket. However, if you want to record directly to your phone and get a clean sound, you may encounter an issue. The GOKEYS-3 requires activation of a function to output sound to both the speakers and the headphone jack simultaneously. This workaround is not widely known, and users often expect a simple left or right socket for direct connection to their phone while hearing playback from the keyboard itself.Seamless Connectivity with GOKEYS-5:On the other hand, the GOKEYS-5 allows for straightforward recording directly to a phone with a clean sound. It does not require additional steps or activation, making it more user-friendly in this regard. The GOKEYS-5 can transmit audio directly to a phone, enabling users to hear what they are playing without hassle.Sound Quality:It's important to note that the sound quality of the GOKEYS-3 is not poor. The difference lies in the connectivity options. The GOKEYS-3 has fewer connectivity features, which can limit its usability for some recording scenarios.
      So: While the GOKEYS-3 offers excellent sound quality, the GOKEYS-5 provides enhanced connectivity options that simplify direct recording to devices like phones. This distinction is crucial for users who prioritize ease of recording and seamless connectivity.

      @@davidmeo1 The ¼" jacks and cables are industry standard for guitars, basses, keyboards, etc. The lower level entry consumer keyboards often have only the stereo mini jack headphone/audio output.

    The only downside for me is the lack of five pin midi out... Because I'm looking for a keyboard with good tones and can also replace my current old midi controller so I can play my desktop synths. But I love Roland's ZenCore tones (I still prefer ACB) and maybe I'll buy it anyway.

      ua-cam.com/users/shortszz02DX8PEiQ Honestly, I got a little over 2 hours at FULL Volume with STYLES playing. That drained the battery FAST! Nonetheless, it plays good! Just get a lot of batteries. Higher end brands like Duracell should last 6 hours and other Alkalines 4 hours but it depends. According to Roland.

      Great Question

  • @jjacob25101
    @jjacob25101 5 місяців тому +1

    And the L/R audio output jacks are ¼", not ⅛"/3.5mm, sobyou don't need a Y adapter cord from the stereo miniplug to dual ¼" jacks, when are not easy to find or get quickly just anywhere.
    If you are a beginner or hobyinst, the 3 would be good, and more affordable, but a serious musician, even aspiring one would readily spend the extra $150 fir the 5.
    The Aux input jack is probably ⅛", and the mic input is ¼". Decent quality heaphones usually have the ⅛" plus withbthe adapter for ¼". One pedal jack us fir thecsustain/damper pedal and the other is firvthe expression or I believe the other pedal goe dufferent functions.

    • @phillc
      @phillc  5 місяців тому

      The GK3 is only headphone out. 1/8 socket/ Needs Y cable to split to L/R not GK5. But it indeed is not a big deal for beginners. It has USB audio out too. All in all, its a great deal.

    Hi Amazing keyboard
    I was wondering in each GM Sound Bank does it work?!…
    Comparable to the Korg EX-50L sound speaking… I use personalise MIdi Files as playback instead of Styles… I’ve recently returned the Korg i3 because of the sounds and now I’m trying to find out witch is the best option for me… is it possible to mix GM sound with others sound on the same Midi and recorded like that?…
    Best regards from Funchal…

      Hello Funchal, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, my knowledge about GM Sound banks in my keyboards is quite limited. I have never really immersed myself into the GM world other than playing the sounds in GM banks randomly. I would suggest this as a Roland question, alternatively someone else can chime in here. Cheers!

    That does it for me. I love that turquoise go 3 but with more powerful speakers on the 5 and that connectivity you just highlighted plus mic in, it's definitely worth the extra bucks cuz you can do sooo much more. If you're a total beginner in piano and music and you're not sure how far you want to go with this then listen to that turquoise cuz it's talking really sweet and loud! Thanks for the clarification. Who would record into a phone? Just use the USB output and plug it into a computer to capture the audio. Or you can record into a usb drive if you can't plug it into your computer.

    • @phillc
      @phillc  2 місяці тому +1

      I see your point when audio is the only focus although for video, Most UA-camrs record directly to their Phone, not for the audio but more so, to have a composite video. Cameras and computers are rarely used by at least 50% of the social media community, perhaps even more, so the need to record audio and video to phone at once is very helpful and reduces steps in the production workflow.

    Привет, Филипп. Спасибо за обзор. Несколько дней назад я приобрел go key3 как подарок дочке, но теперь я увидел что есть go key5, который выглядит и слышится более профессиональным. Какие главные отличия 5 от 3 модели? Динамики мощнее? Разъемов больше? Что еще? Буду рад за ответ. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

      Привет! Не беспокойтесь о том, что Go Keys 3 окажется менее профессиональным. Это фантастический вариант для начинающих, и вашей дочери он наверняка понравится. Я тоже планирую купить Go Keys 3 для своей дочери!
      Go Keys 3 обладает некоторыми удивительными функциями. Я был очень впечатлен четкостью его динамиков, что невероятно, учитывая его цену.
      Основные различия между двумя моделями заключаются в количестве разъемов и потенциально немного более мощной акустической системе Go Keys 5. Но для новичка Go Keys 3 - отличный выбор. Наслаждайтесь музыкальным путешествием вместе со своей дочерью!

I am trying to buy a keyboard where I can make videos of me singing at home, in you videos you tell clearly that the mic function from Go Keys 5 works better. But is it possible to record my voice through other tools as I will be recording at home mostly. As I really love the colors of Go Keys 3.

      @phillc  5 місяців тому +1

      @@Alvinzhang-p5y 🙏 Thanks! You can pass your mic through other equipment like an amp and then use the aux in to send that into your keyboard and then your phone or camera. Another alternative is to send both the keyboard signal and your mic into an amp and send that signal to your phone or camera. Alternatively you can record externally to your video device. 👍
