    when I was about 14, I was using Kings Cross Station for the first time by myself. I had quite bad anxiety at the time and got a bit lost trying to find the right platform. It was late and I was starting to panic, no one was around. Seconds before I was about to start getting a bit hysterical, a thin pale woman seemed to come out of nowhere and said “where are you going to, darling?” And I explained I needed the northern line. She smiled and said “follow me” and pointed ahead of us- she walked me up these stairs and as she got round the corner before me, she just disappeared. She just vanished, I found my platform, but couldn’t see her around. I was a bit shaken up at the time. I was skeptical of ghosts or paranormal beings at the time, but was sure that this woman was something of the sort. Whenever I’m there now, I still think about her. I haven’t had any more encounters- but I have so many questions. She just seemed to come out of nowhere and vanish into thin air. I’m glad you made this video.

      I’ve seen some funny things myself. I’ve also heard that spirits have been known to lead people to the specific area where they died. They vanish right on the spot.

    Dear Top5s,
    On October 2 I received a call from my boss, & unfortunately he was letting me know that I was being let go (I got fired). This was of course my only income & I was panicking because I have a family to support. & Of course you move on & I found this incredible job, that came with incredible benefits & it paid very well. But I didn’t have much experience with that type of work but I needed it. So I go in for an interview, & to my surprise I hear one of your videos playing in the background!! The interview was scheduled to be only an hour long but that turned into 3 hours after watching more of your videos & taking lunch. We shook hands & I patently waited & as lucky as I can be; I got the job!!!
    So Thank you for your videos!! Thank you for letting this completely stranger & I have a common interest that gave me a chance to get this incredible job!
    Thank you & keep up the great work!

    My dad was a track engineer within London Underground and I remember him saying how he was out in the tunnels with a work friend one night , my dad then proceeded to start working on the track with his head down ,talking to his friend .he went back to the platform to later find that his friend was waiting for him , my dad confused asked him how he got there first , they were just talking to eachother on the track . His friend looked at him and said as soon as you started working I went back to the platform .my dad distressed asked him then who the fuck was I just speaking to ? To this day my dad still doesn’t know

    I worked in farringdon when I was in my early 20s (I'm 40 now) and one night after coming back from an after work drinks session I was at farringdon station and heard screams echo down from the tunnel that the train would head into when it left the platform. It was only a couple and they were very faint and being a bit drunk i thought it was someone messing around but the funny thing is I remember saying to the guy I was travelling with did you hear that and he said yes! It was around 10pm and there were very few other people there. Never knew about the story for there until just now!

    I go to Bethnal Green quite often and I've had 3 creepy encounters. The first one happend back in 2013. I was leaving the station on a very quiet day and I felt someone grab my ankle, I've turned around expecting to be greeted by someone who may have fallen but there was nobody there. The second encounter happened in 2015 and I was waiting for a train when I felt a tap on my shoulder, again I expected to be greeted by someone wanting to get past or ask for the time but there was nobody there. The last encounter happened last week and I had just got off the train and was making my way out of the station when I heard somebody whisper the word "help" in my ear. Yeah you've guessed it, I turned around again and nobody was there.

    Me and my daughter (who was 3 at the time) where traveling into london back in 2009 to visit a family member, our train was just pulling into Liverpool Street station, going slowly through the interconnected tunnels. My daughter suddenly said " mummy there's a man over there" and pointed into the tunnels. I looked but there was nothing there. She said it was a man wearing a helmet and she was worried he was going to be hit by a train. She scared the hell out of me and the other young woman in the carriage with us and we quickly got out of the station! We travel around London a lot so thanks for this top5! 😱😱

    I remember one time I was waiting for my train at Mile End Station and as I was waiting I heard another train pull into the other platform. I didn’t turn around because it was just a train, my train arrived just after and the other train across the station was still there as I hadn’t heard the chime for the doors I get on my train and sat down looking directly at the opposite end of the station. The train wasn’t there. However, I heard the chimes AND the train pulling out of the platform, there was just nothing there. My train shortly pulled put after. Still freaks me out to this day.

      A lady with a red scarf is supposed to haunt Ickenham tube station. People have seen her, and say she appears to give a wave before walking onto the tracks. There was a lady who fitted this description who killed herself at the station back in the 1950's. So is this her ghost?
      Kennington Loop - after people get off the trains, the trains then go around a loop known as the 'Kennington Loop'. Drivers have said they've heard the doors between carriages open and slam shut........but they are the only people on the train. One driver went to see where the noise was coming from and found all the interconnecting carriage doors wide open. He had made sure all were shut properly before the train entered the loop. Spooky! ...but several drivers have experienced this down the years.
      Lady in black - a Victorian lady dressed all in black is reputed to haunt the tunnels and passages of Bank station.
      ........but there are even more ghost stories from all over the tube network.

I've seen Mists in odd places, things out the corner of my eyes, footsteps, name calling when I'm alone, and the weirdest was like someone had opened one of those old fashioned twinkly music boxes next to my ear. I've been to Bethnal Green once. During 2001, I was learning of the Blitz which was the constant bombing of London and the rest of the UK carried out by the Luftwaffe and I came across this story of the station as you mentioned being a bomb shelter, so during my trip to the UK in 2001, I dropped by in the area around 8.00. I did not hear and particular noises coming from the station, just silence. But that in itself is already creepy.

I even started writing a novel based on/inspired by the creepy feelings and experiences I had while living there, very imaginatively titled "Bethnal Green." I must go finish it!

    The London Underground stations are especially creepy and fascinating. I enjoy vising them and riding the tube as often as I can when i travel there. Too bad that the new automatic safety Gates are now being installed on some lines as it takes away from the historical appeal of the "Tube"

  • @SINStrykerSF
    @SINStrykerSF 6 років тому +2

    Last year I spent a few weeks in Oxford and London for study abroad. In London I did learn how to navigate the tube stations (I still have the mini pocket map I used as a memento) and greatly appreciated the speed and distance of the underground. With that being said, I stayed next to Tottenham Court Road station. I did pass through all of these except Farringdon. However, I didn't experience anything. Most of the stations were a really busy and quick atmosphere, especially during rush hour. Now that I look at the tube map again, it's eerie how close all of these are to Tottenham Court with Liverpool and Benthal on the Central Line and King's Cross and Covent Garden on the Piccadilly Line, crossing paths with the Central Line. For most of these, I had no idea about the violent history.

      oi,someone gave my details after they where caught with a child travel card 8 years ago,They're still chasing me to pay a fine for not paying an admin fee on a letter for that person stating they're not being fined...WTF it went from £75 to £3K I tell them to get fucked every time they manage to get in contact with me I even went to court twice and TFL didn't turn up either time.I called TFL and they said they don't know wtf I'm talking about it just goes back and forth every couple of years.....Any advice?

    I remember when I was on the tube coming home with my friends. It was about 11pm and we were on the Bakerloo line, we got on at Paddington and were heading towards Charing Cross. There were a few others on the train but not many, our carriage was surprisingly empty. We were sitting in the middle seats of the train so we could see the whole carriage.
    We stopped at Oxford Circus and the doors opened as normal, a few people got off and one person got on. The man was wearing what looked like a black suit with a black top hat and he sat in an empty chair like nothing. This isn't an uncommon look, I've seen people wearing such getups often. Then he looked over at my male friend and asked where "the masks" were kept. We didn't know what he was talking about, so he just said "the masks" and kept replying with "the masks" anytime we asked him something. It was said in the exact same tone as the first time he said it, it was like a record stuck on loop. We looked at one another, not sure what to do, but when we looked back the guy had vanished. The other people on the train were looking at us weirdly.
    For those who don't know London Underground trains, these aren't the type of trains that you can change carriage on, there is no intersection bit that lets you move between them whilst the train is in motion so the fact this guy just disappeared completely from the carriage makes us think he was a ghost.
    I've also heard the screams on platforms, though you have to be sure your ears aren't deceiving you because sometimes the sound of one of the trains screeching around a corner can be perceived as a scream.
    There was another time when I was on the tube (I don't remember what one, it was so long ago) early in the morning, about 4-5am. The train was stopped in a tunnel waiting on a signal. Suddenly it sounded like someone was on top of the train running up and down it on the roof, like I clearly heard footsteps up there run down to the end of the train and then come running back up. It wouldn't be possible because of how tight the tunnels are, there is basically no space above the train.

    Hearing sounds echoing in subways isn't that creepy to me... i mean i see it as maybe an animal made some noise, something might have just fell or whatever and then in order for us to distinguish the sound, we make up things such as someone is screaming or crying just to satisfy our curiosity. Because the way a subway is designed plays an important role on how sound travels. ( just saying) And then when the rumors are spread the place becomes haunted. Well I'm probably wrong.

On their 1987 album Actually, the Pet Shop Boys had a song called King's Cross, it contained the line "By the station called King's Cross, Dead and wounded on either side, You know it's only a matter of time" and the accompanying video has scenes of a man on fire...... The spooky thing is the album was released in September 1987, two months before the actual King's Cross fire.... Here's the video. ua-cam.com/video/9fv8YiZXlOQ/v-deo.html&hd=1

      It happened one night during an air raid during world war II. All the local residents were making their way down the staircase when they all heard a loud bang in the distance which they believed to be a German Doodlebug or V2 rocket but which was actually an anti-aircraft gun from nearby Victoria park. The goverment kept the fact that they had any anti-aircraft weapons in the park from the locals so upon hearing this all the people entering the tube began to panic and force their way into station. Someone must have tripped and this caused a chain reaction and hundreds of people (many women and children) were trampled or suffocated to death.

    • @audreymuzingo933
      @audreymuzingo933 6 років тому +2

      Clapton I understand the story, I looked it up and yes it's all over the internet, I'm just having a hard time picturing it based on the photographs of the stairwell shown with the video. What's interesting is that the Brittish government successfully covered it up for a while, to avoid even more panic. It's just so weird trying to imagine a world where radio and newspapers were the only way news spread--no interet, not even TV. Nowadays, all it would take would be one witness posting online what happened (maybe with photos or video) and the whole planet would know about it immediately.
